Forgive me because I am not sure where to put this observation, but has anyone else noticed Gase’s more relaxed demeanor this year? As we were getting our asses kicked by the Raiders I was obviously not happy and preparing myself for our 1st loss. Meanwhile, Gase was calm, cool, confident, and collected on the sideline. Even though we couldn’t run the ball, Gase didn’t show the frustration with things like he has in the past. Personally, I like a coach that is fiesty and I think Gase is. I also like the new side of him too. His confidence in himself, our game plan, and the players can only help when we hit a rough stretch during a game. I think he’s growing as a HC and like the direction we are going.
I just love his press conferences when he feeling good. He gets a bit arrogant and smart azsed with the press. Pretty funny.
Thank you, nice read. It's ESPN, so I normally would not have discovered it. I stopped reading them or watching sports center years ago.
i think he will try what the raiders did and sell out for stopping our rb's. I think billicheck will pull a buddy ryan and stop the run on the way to the qb. What he WILL do, and i think it will have some success, is throwing on our lb's. Billicheck is the MASTER of creating matchups and that is our most glaring weekness on defense right now. I didnt like Gronk and his "i am sick of being double teamed all the time" statement he made to the press this week. Bill HATES players saying ANYTHING to the media. I felt this was a planned statement to get the dolphins to use the double team on him as teams have been doing. Something tells me billy boy WANTS us to double gronk for some reason to the pats advantage. Just like when bill says to the media on playing an up coming appointment, "there a very talented team and one of the best we will face all year, it's going to be a challenge for us", he has already found his way to beat them. This gronk double team thing feels like the same thing. I now am very worried about how we "cover" gronk.
Updated weather: Not much change. Slightly warmer than predicted earlier in the week. Very slightly less humidity. Still a clear day. No rain. Should be a nice day for some football. Weather via Wundergound: Temp 67-68F, feels like 67-68F Humidity 47% Rain 0% Cloud Cover 2-6% Wind 5-6 mph W
I love how the guy says, "Absolutely everything about the Dolphins says they should win....which is why I pick the Pats." Sound logic. =)
This is what he does. Everytime he says this about upcoming opponents, he has them figured out, and figured out well. And after drubbing the team, he spills about how worried they were coming in and how proud he is of his team for coming up so big. I am not over confident on a finz win at this point.
I just hope we come to play and are competitive. If we do, we have a shot, and it might be one of those days that Gase talks about where we have to try and stay in it and then try to win it late in the 4th.
As always, the interior DL will have to be able to get good pressure up the middle. (that's what she said)
Bad news regarding Reshad, but we should be looking to get him healthy for the rest of the season. That said, the Pats don't have all the weapons they usually do for this game, so our defense should have an easier time even without Jones. Also, I don't believe for a second Gronk is really hurt. Belicheat is hoping the Phins decide to single cover an 'injured' Gronk, instead of taking him out of the game with two defenders. One more thing, I think Gordon will be more of a decoy for this game. Hamstrings tend to heal slowly and I doubt Josh can hit his top speed yet. Plus, how much practice time does he have with Brady? I see a few jump balls thrown deep to him, but not much else.
My family just went to see a movie and I'm mentally preparing myself for some terrible, one-sided officiating along with whatever nonsense Kraft paid for. I may lose my voice before the end of the game, but I really believe the Phins are going to win.
I am so freaking nervous/excited that I almost don't even want to watch the game. Losing Jones and Branch is huge. I still think we win as well but last-minute doubt is creeping in.
Another RB active. Could be because extra snaps needed at WR without Parker, but maybe we're going to see the Dolphins really try to run the ball down NE's throat with lots of fresh legs.
Looks like the offense will have to win this one. I hope we try to get Kenny Stills in single coverage on the first play and let Tannehill bomb one right out of the gate.
I am cautiously optimistic! It is not easy to beat a division rival on the road. Though this game feels super important, the Dolphins can still win and not make the playoffs while the Patriots can still lose and make the playoffs. Though it would be nice to have a 3 game lead against every team in the AFC East after this weekend.
Yeah, or a reverse to Grant/Wilson...something to smack them in the mouth right off the bat. I'd settle for a big Drake run right up the middle.
This game will tell us if the dolphins are for real or not. In years past, this is the kind of game we'd lose 9 out of 10 times.
Gase has a plan! no need to worry. See what he said on Rich's show? "I'm watching you guys, I know you never picks us to win" and when rich said "do you want me to pick you to win?" Gase said no lol!!
