I think Tanny is or can be good at QB, never elite of course. He has to be put into position to succeed though and won't create on his own. Gase clearly had no plan to deal with press coverage, nor did he make sure backups were ready to execute difficult plays like snapping the ball. I am interested in how Gase responds in the second half. Does the team respond or fold completely? Can Gase makes some adjustments?
Tannehill Running for his life again Holding on Miami At least they're calling holding on someone's OL
Another instant pressure from NE's 4 man rush. Nobody open either. Just a terrible OL performance, and the WR's aren't getting off the line. Make up all the theories on the coach, and the QB all you guys want, that's the game in a nutshell.
Yup. Once we lost Sitton, it was all over for the OL and the running game IMO. The DL is in shambles right now too without Hayes and Branch.
I'm not sure what else they can do really. It's up to the WR's to win their matchups. If they can't get off the line, you're doomed. That's the problem.
WRs on this team are useless. Speed my ***, they’re never open unless we pull some trickery. No offensive playmakers at all.
No motion, no rollouts, no adjustments by Gase. More mental mistake penalties. This was a season changing, pivotal game and it has revealed this team was smoke and mirrors all along. Gase has the team he wanted to build, here in his third season, and it is a failure.
Okay, again you motion a guy to get away from the press coverage, you roll out the QB with a run/pass option, you run sweeps, but what you don't do is keep running the same plays that killed you in the first half. Players failing to execute is mostly on them (some blame for coaches not having them ready or failing to see they are simply not good enough), but failing to adjust your game plan is on coaching.
I can't watch anymore- painful day of football and we're crippled without our defensive line. Tannehill's trying to play too fast as well. I will say that two TD's on Howard were both penalties....but that's NE signature football. I also didn't like the RT fumble call either; if a player is on the ground and secures the football with one hand, that should be it. We got a turnover in that same situation last week though so it's hard to complain about....I questioned it then too.
Miami can still go 6-10 from here ya know. Our schedule isn't exactly easy. I wonder if anyone will be around to defend Gase staying.
This game is over. How we respond next week will define our season. Who are we and what are we made of?
We're made out of NE excrement as long as they continue to dominate us and our division. Pitiful. This team will never get it right. It's a Management problem. **** roles down hill.
What??? Those questions are being answered right now. Next week and really the rest of the season is about evaluating players and getting ready for next season. This is a flawed team that will go 7-9, we know that now.
They're still calling holds on our DB's. The officials took our DB's out of this game early with the flags, but they've allowed NE's to carry on all game. We were so awful that it likely doesn't matter, but still. That changes the way guys play the game.
Some days you get the bear, and some days the bear gets you. Today, we are getting mauled and it’s bloody!
We will only be 3-1. The seasons not over by any means. We need to decide as a team how bad we want it.
Season over after week 4, at 3-1 in first place in the division. You're all pathetic. Miami was never going to win this game. Nobody expected it to be this though. Hopefully this *** beating is a wake up call.
Here's how I see it today... We sucked. In all phases. Blocking. Coverage. Tackling. QB play. WR play. Rushing. Passing. Just awful. We were outplayed, and outcoached all day. We need two play makers on this offense. One is a bigtime, big play WR. The other is a QB. I like Tannehill, I think a team can win with him. It's just not this team, in it's current state IMO. He reacts, more than he anticipates and creates. No rollouts today? No QB runs? It's almost like we thought this was a preseason game, everything looked so vanilla. The officials, had far too big a hand in this game early. Took our DB's out of the game with all the ticky tack calls on them early. We're missing Jones, Branch and Hayes far more than anyone wants to admit, and more than anyone remembers. Sitton as well. Haven't had success running without him on the OL. Not sure how it gets better from here, the talent and depth on the OL is what it is at this point, and the DL is just taking a beating and hopefully those guys come back sooner rather than later. I dont know if they weren't prepared to play, but they were outplayed. Not having an answer to get guys open against NE's press coverage is a bad sign. It's also quite confusing given the wrinkles the team has shown this year already, things just seemed so vanilla today. Unless they just gave up on it early knowing this isn't a team built to come from behind. Next week, if they don't respond, it's a long rest of the season. This is a beyond embarassing loss, and it's happened too many times in this fashion for this team lately. We're still 3-1, atop the division if I'm not mistaken, so that's a good thing, but hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come.
Wasn’t it Gase who built this team and decided to get rid of Pouncey, Suh, and Landry? Say what you want to about Landry but he always found a way to get off the line and make a play. Gase is 100% responsible for the players on this years roster and if they aren’t successful this season, the blame lies with him, the coaching staff and the front office. It is up to the offensive coordinator, (Gase) to come up with plays to create openings for the Wr’s. The fact is he is nothing but a mediocre to bad NFL headcoach and he is being totally outcoached by Belicheck today. Once again Dolphin fans must accept another year of mediocrity and with the overall lack of talent throughout the roster and an average at best QB, the future appears to more mediocrity or worse in the next few years.
