I agree that the season is not over but this trend of getting blown out in big games with Gase is growing. At least fight or be competitive if you are a good team ... good teams actually compete. Pretenders get blown out.
At 24-0 on the road, I think it was safe to say Miami wasn't winning this game so there is no reason to show any cards, so to say. More like take the beating, get home with nobody else getting hurt and regroup.
First thing Gase needs to do in the locker room after the game is to apologize to the team for a **** game plan and admit that this loss is on him and his coaching staff! He didn’t put our players in a position to succeed.
Very similar to the Ravens thrashing us and the long slide. If Gase can't right the ship - soon - I am done.
First thing (among many) that needs to happen is Gase needs to turn over the play calling and be the head coach. It's painfully obvious he can't do both jobs.
We know what this team really is now. Being first in the division even after today means nothing. It was a mirage. It will only take until next week to fall back to second place. The season is over as far as any realistic chance of winning the division, and of being a playoff team too.
I never believed this team was a legitimate playoff team, even when they were 3-0 against bad teams. Obviously you are happy with mediocrity, while I’m not. I want the Dolphins to be successful but the fact is it is just an organization which has a lack of overall talent, a very average coaching staff and a front office which doesn’t have a clue. I remember when the Dolphins were one of the proud franchises in the NFL. It is just sad for me to see how far they have fallen over the last 20 years.
Season isn't over but what an embarrassing game. Pat's just got their asses handed to them by the Lions and we barely broken 100 yards on offense. I blame Gase for not figuring this out.
You know, I get that but at some point the players have to look in the mirror too. Win your matchups. Get open. Block someone. Make a good throw. Make a tackle. Don’t take a stupid penalty. It’s easy to blame coaches but a lot of times I find we do that and let the players off the hook. There was bad everywhere out there but gameplays are always out together to win the game. Sometimes you’re wrong with that planning, but you shouldn’t get shut out and blown out. That shows more than just an issue with a game plan to me that’s also guys failing to do their jobs executing on the field.
Not going to argue that. I just want Gase to take responsibility and make it clear to the players that they all need to get better, and it includes and starts with him and his coaches. My Captain Obvious advice to Gase is: Find our missing running game! Do whatever it takes by replacing, promoting, or signing offensive linemen who can consistently run block.
Dolphins so bad they changed to the eagles game on german television.. man everytime i see them on tv they get their *** whooped
That’s captain obvious advice alright. Lol. Who are you going to sign though? What’s out there now is garbage. This line looked good with Sutton. Once he went down that was it for the run blocking apparently. The pattern remains to beat Miami IMO. Shut down Miami’s run. Take away the short quick easy passes. Dare us to throw downfield. Make the most import player on the field earn his pay.
So.... Thru 4 preseason and 4 regular season games, our 6'6" seam threat with 4.5 speed has a total of 5 catches for 47 yards. I have a headache. If you knew you didn't know how to use this weapon, why the hell did you waste a 2nd round pick on him???? You might as well drafted a damn offensive lineman.
Agree with your assessment, and my obvious statement about finding our long lost running game is the only way that I can think of to get us back on track. OL blocking/ running game needs to be a major emphasis this week in practice. Our season depends on it.
Ryan tannehilled today among other things. Absolutely zero situational awareness stuck in mud in the pocket. Get used to this until we have a new qb. We miss jay ajayi drake just dances. Gase wasn’t overmatched as usual. Bad team. Did anyone see Charles harris out there spinning in place 10 yards from the qb? Can’t win with a qb that has absolutely no clue what to do. Check down every play unless it’s third down then Jeb wilo throw deep lol. Has anyone ever seen a team where 1st and 20 is automatic punt every single time? Gase knows he’s handicapped with this qb
Been saying this since last year. Gase does a terrible job of play calling, and he is very bad at making adjustments during the game. His run pass mix is atrocious and aside from the trick plays he called for wilson and grant this year he has been very predictable as usual.
Watched this disaster until they switched over. Was Miami really that bad? Were the Patriots really that good? Or are the Patriots that damn good at stealing signals? How does Miami’s offense go from what we saw last week to this week? Or the Patriots offense go from what we saw last week to this week? Does home field advantage explain all that? Maybe. I’m going to chalk it up to Miami is still a very mediocre team and the Patriots still know how to cheat great.
Is it too soon for the "Bring Back Matt Moore!!" chant? Maybe I'd better wait until Tuesday for that one. It's good to laugh momentarily after that painful game. =)
Tannehill looked like that same guy from the Philbin days. I am slowly losing confidence in him. With all of these QBs throwing for a gabazillion yards and TDs, it’s like Gase and Co. are okay with playing small ball. Switch it the f&$& up already! Tannehill gets a little too much pressure, but a LOT of those throws today were just bad. Really bad. Like, high school bad. No zip or accuracy today. I was okay with losing this game, just not like this.
We are. This is why you have to laugh at all the folks posting about how we are disrespected by the media and whatever. It's because we have done jack ****. We put up a decent 2-3 game stretch and then get waxed and fall to pieces. Jesus ... If I never hear his name again I will be happy.
They are right we are a fraud. Watch other games and see how many points are scored. See how teams attack the middle of then fiekd and throw the bakk downfield. We will never be a real offense with hennehill. He is not a football player he can’t move he is a deer in headlights he is so lost out there it’s a joke. Against horrid teams we can gimmick them run shovel passes to Wilson, checks down and bubble screen all day. Smart coaches will make tannehill throw downfield it make decisions he simply can’t do it he is not s football player he has no awareness he freezes he sucks
You know, some teams started out the season 1-2 or even 1-1-1 and I still thought "they're a talented team with good coaching and they're going to wind up making the playoffs." When we started 3-0, I didn't think "hey this is a good team! We're going to win the division!", I thought "this is still a .500 team that got a good start." Not surprised they lost. They're going to lose games against better teams, and the Pats are a better team. We don't have enough talent to be a playoff team yet, especially on defense.
This loss is on Gase. The game plan was really weak. Drake had 3 touches and Tannehill didn't seem to have any passing options beyond the first down markers. You're playing the Pats. What on earth leads you to believe they will let you do what you've been doing?
Nothing positive can be taken from this game. Watch some film, beat each other up in practice, and move on to the next game. The team got embarrassed so it's up to them to do something about it.
This, the game plan was amateurish, the playcalling worse. Absolutely no adequate adjustments were made. The patriots were weak against the run and we never even tried to establish the running game. We came out passing from the beginning and never stopped. Bubble screens up the gazoo. Same old predictable crap from gase belichick took him to school.
