True that Invid. I miss some of the debates here with some of the guys from years gone by...some I just do not miss at all to be honest...you seem like one of the "good guys". If only the opinions were viewed exactly as such and not as antagonistic comments directed AT someone, but simply contrarian opinion about a situation......oh well I digress.....wish some of the old guys well and good to "see" some of you guys...all my best and now ........fade to black until the next drive by ......
I am playing some hoops with Charles Harris right now. He said, "My friends call me Chuck." Okay, gotta go. I'm up 20-2 and he's stalling because there's $5 and a Quizno's dinner riding on this.
My favorite was the NFLN special with Steve Mariucci, Alabama's Jonathan Allen, Missouri's Charles Harris, Stanford's Solomon Thomas and Wisconsin's T.J. Watt where Mariucci abruptly blurted "BLACK ICE!" and it sounded like he said "BLACK GUYS!". TJ Watt looked uncomfortable.
Not bad. However most publications basically said “needs more than just a spin move to be an NFL stud”. So those publications would mark themselves as half right since he has failed to consistently develop his technique. The main difference was you were more pessimistic on his chances of developing than others. I would also say he has shown flashes where he has improved his technique, which indicate that if he can deploy improved technique consistently he might yet develop into a solid player. On balance your evaluation is currently better than others but there still is a chance, albeit not a strong chance, you will be proven wrong later.
I never liked the Harris pick and stated so as soon as we drafted him. The guy is a one trick pony who got all of his (mediocre) production against subpar oposition and backup tackles in college. His speed to power ratio is way below average and I think that is one of the most important markers of a quality nfl pass rusher. He has below average speed and below average strength. He wont be more than a a journyeman DE in the NFL. Terrible pick imo and everything he has done to this point backs up my original analysis. We should have traded down for more picks.
