Packers receiver Geronimo Allison needs surgery to repair a core muscle injury, coach Mike McCarthy told reporters Monday, via Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Allison is expected to need four to six weeks for recovery, making him a candidate for injured reserve. He played five games this season, making 20 catches for 303 yards and two touchdowns before his injury. Right tackle Bryan Bulaga played only 22 of 74 offensive snaps Sunday night before leaving with a knee injury. Packers coach Mike McCarthy told reporters Monday that Bulaga avoided major injury as further testing revealed no structural damage. The Packers will give Bulaga the week to rest and rehab and see where he is before making a determination on his status for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. McCarthy said cornerback Kevin King is unlikely to play this week after injuring his hamstring against the Patriots. King played 24 of 71 snaps. Linebacker Blake Martinez returned to the game after injuring his ankle, but McCarthy said Martinez has significant swelling today.
That may help, but we're missing our starting QB, WR1, T, G, C, G, T, TE and two of our other WR's are limping. Our two running backs are in tip-top shape though...even though one is old as dirt. =)
Allison's loss is no great shakes. His replacement is 5th round rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who is like **** off a shiny shovel (that means he's VERY quick). Aaron Jones could rip up a ton of yards and there's always Devante Adams, so it's not going to be feet up, kick back time for the D by a long way. Also, I believe their QB is half decent as well...
Even though they lost, anyone who watched last nights game and still thinks that Rodgers is not the best QB in the NFL is either a Pats fan or blind. A-A- rod is the greatest QB of my lifetime. He’s pure magic and if I were gay I would propose to him. Lol (Can I use the word gay or have the fascists outlawed that too? Lol )
Watching the Packers is fun. Watching the Dolphins is fun, but I’m typically biting my nails and cussing out the TV when they are on.
I'm going to Lambou this weekend to see the game. I hope were competitive. Tailgating - supposed to be 30 degrees. Guess I have to find my jacket.
Yeah....They're banged up....But they have Aaron Rodgers and we have Brock Osweiler. Who knows....I kinda feel like if Tannehill plays we will have a chance at this, but I doubt he does. This will be the Brock show again.
Miami leads this series 10-4 overall and Aaron Rodgers is 1-1 against the Dolphins having won in Miami in October 2014 and lost at Lambeau in October 2010. Rodgers is that good and the Dolphins are that beat up in too many key positions. This was one of the losses I picked and we’re going to get massacred 45-17
As was said, the Fins have plenty of their own issues to deal with. But given that the Packers may be without both of their starting MLBs, I would suggest that the smart play would be for Miami to try to run inside all game as much as possible, gain what yardage they can, and control the clock to keep Rodgers off the field. Keep the score within range, and maybe we can break a few long plays.
I think you got away with it. I believe you're supposed to refer to them as 'BLT's' or something these days which, not long ago, was a rather tasty sandwich. There may or may not be some irony in that last sentence but I'm not really clever enough to know...
not one qb in this league could do what A A Ron does with his team or lack there of, 100% true facts!!!
I think its LGBTYQFSRTYWB, i think i hit all the abbreviations. dont know what they mean but im sure it will keep going until they hit all 26 letters!!
The Packers waved good-bye to Jermaine Whitehead after his ejection Sunday for a head slap. Green Bay cut the safety, who appeared in seven games and started two this season. Whitehead made 17 tackles, a sack and two pass breakups. The Packers also placed Geronimo Allison on injured reserve. The receiver needed surgery for a core muscle injury. He played five games this season, making 20 catches for 303 yards and two touchdowns before his injury. Green Bay promoted cornerback Will Redmond from the practice squad. Redmond, a third-round pick of the 49ers in 2016, joined the Packers’ practice squad Sept. 11. Redmond has never appeared in an NFL game.
From PFT: Aaron Rodgers fully participated in a Wednesday practice for the first time since the season opener when he injured his knee. The Packers quarterback was a limited participant in the team’s Wednesday practice last week. Before last week, Rodgers had used the first workout of the week as a rehab and rest day. The Packers had only two players miss Wednesday’s work: Cornerback Kevin King(hamstring) is not expected to play Sunday, while tight end Jimmy Graham (knee) is. Safety Kentrell Brice (knee), tackle Bryan Bulaga (knee) and linebacker Blake Martinez(ankle) received limited work in Wednesday’s practice. Receiver Randall Cobb (hamstring) and linebacker Nick Perry (ankle) were full participants.
