    LEADERS
    1. Kansas City (8-1): Owns a one-game lead in the conference and a 1.5-game lead in the division.

    2. New England (7-2): The Patriots appear destined to get their usual bye week.

    3. Pittsburgh (5-2-1): After a sluggish start, the Steelers now control the AFC North.

    4. Houston (6-3): The Texans are threatening to run away with the AFC South.

    5. L.A. Chargers (6-2): They’d be a dangerous wild card.

    6. Cincinnati (5-3): Marvin Lewis is on pace to save his job by getting the Bengals back to the playoffs.

    OUTSIDE LOOKING IN
    7. Miami (5-4): They won’t catch the Patriots, but the Dolphins are very much alive in wild card contention.

    8. Tennessee (4-4): : The Titans won a playoff game last season and fired Mike Mularkey anyway. Will they even get to the playoffs with Mike Vrabel?

    9. Baltimore (4-5): John Harbaugh may need a winning streak and a playoff berth to save his job.

    10. Jacksonville (3-5): The Jaguars currently own the tiebreaker over the Colts, based on having a better record in common games.

    11. Indianapolis (3-5): The Colts look like they could go on a run over the second half of the season, but will it be enough to catch the Texans?

    12. N.Y. Jets (3-6): The Jets have the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Broncos.

    13. Denver (3-6): Two straight losing seasons could cost Vance Joseph his job.

    14. Cleveland (2-6-1): The Browns are a little better. They need to get a lot better.

    15. Buffalo (2-7): They keep losing no matter which of their three quarterbacks play.

    16. Oakland (1-7): Jon Gruden won’t be making the playoffs in his first year back in Oakland.

Here's the link to that article:
    https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...ff-picture-chiefs-and-patriots-have-the-lead/

So the writer, Michael David Smith, couldn't think of anything more relevant to say about the Jets who are behind 6 teams for the last WC spot than "The Jets have the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Broncos". LOL. OK, so if both the Jets and Broncos leapfrog 6 teams by making up a 3-win deficit in 7 games, THEN his comment has some relevance.

And this is the guy that was named "Mainstream Media Sports Blogger of the Year" by Sports Illustrated in 2007. LOL

Even the last wildcard spot is tough, given that Miami could go 11-5 and still be behind the Bengals for that final spot. Since I keep seeing a team out on the field that only looks capable of beating the Bills at home, and maybe in Buffalo, I'm not going to worry about playoffs.

Yeah, the Bengals will really have to fall apart for us to have any shot. If we lose this Sunday at Green Bay (If, lol), we'd need to go 4-2 just to get to a winning record. So we would have to count on the Bengals going 3-5 or worse the rest of the way.

If the Bengals lose while we're on our bye, and we come out and beat the Colts and Bills to get to 7-5, then we're alive, but of course the Ravens are right behind us too, so its tough to root for one or the other.

The good news is that the Ravens have to play @ATL, @KC and @ The Chargers. So I guess 8-8 might be their ceiling. Whereas the Bengals are likely going to be 9-7 or better unless they totally crap the bed in one of the games they should be favored.

Pittsburgh is currently 5-2-1 and has a tough schedule. They could potentially fall behind the Bengals, allowing another team to get that 6th WC spot. They play Carolina, @Jacksonville, Chargers, Patriots, @Saints and Bengals:

It's definitely conceivable they lose 5 of last 8. Well.. opportunities usually present themselves. Our problem has been taking advantage.

EDIT: well so much for the Steelers losing against Carolina. Oh well.. fun to think about for a few hours anyway lol.

This team has no chance at the playoffs this year guys.To many injuries and no depth!I fully expect a blowout today in green bay and a possible 3 wins at best for the rest of the season.
I have already started looking at next years QB crop.

You know what they say, never say never, but I would be really impressed with Gase if we made the playoffs. I looks to me like the defenses we play don't have to worry about Brock beating them deep, so they can cheat up and take away the run and limit the YAC on our 3 yard passes. We are probably about as one dimensional as it gets. It will be interesting to see what they change up against the Packers. Get ready Kenny, Get ready DeVante. It's show time! NOT!
