Ouch. That hurts. Down goes another on O. Really hard to even be competitive this way. Dr Chao is usually pretty damn close on these things. Hear his spots on Sirius NFL radio, and he's usally accurate. Not good
Looked like an achilles tear to me when it happened. Saw Marino tear his, Wake tear his and now Grant. We need to get an Indian shaman to lift whatever curse is on this team.
Hard to believe we'd be facing such a decimated WR corp, given how much depth we had to start the year. We've lost Wilson and now Grant, two of the three speed guys we had. Any hope for Parker to finally emerge is also gone with this latest injury. Gesicki is a year away from being a reliable target too.
As much as that sucks since Grant is one of my favorites, we rarely used him on offense and almost never correctly. It would have been a big gain if he caught that little slant pass but for whatever reason, we almost never throw it. I wish him a speedy recovery.
So we're gonna lose the other half of our high-fiving speedy duo too? We can't have nice things folks, we just can't.
I am beginning to seriously question the ability of our training staff. I don't think Grant should have been active yesterday. Instead he should have rested his Achilles this week and over the bye. Now, the dude is out for the season, and may never be the same again! Furthermore, look at all the guys we have injured. It's a ****ing joke! Somebody has some serious splaining to do!!
What do you know! Grant did NOT in fact, tear his achilles! According to an Ian Rappaport report on twitter. Sorry can't link on my work computer.
PHEW! If it's not torn....Can we at least give him the proper rest he needs so that it doesn't tear? That would be great!
How many games did Tannehill play with his ****ed up shoulder, 2 or 3? SMH! Of course a player is going to say he can go. These guys need to use a little common sense and take care of our players even if they want to push through the pain of an injury. The medical staff is supposed to be independent of the coaching staff. When it is going to make an injury get worse or an injury needs time to heal they need to step in and say you aren't playing. Note: I am talking serious stuff like shoulders, knees, achilles, and the like. Not little boo boos.
Really good news, better to let Grant rest until it has healed properly though. If it had torn, he would have been questionable for the 2019 season and as a speed guy he might NEVER be the same player after that type of injury. I'd shut Grant down the rest of the season if it means he is healthy and ready to go in 2019.
Good point! Why force it. It's not like Grant is going to be the difference maker this year. Come back strong next year with Grant and Wilson fully healed and ready to rock and roll!
i said this before that Rt is so fearful of his job that he would play with an amputated arm if he could hide it. Its sad if that boy was really hurt and the trainers or gase were like aww hes good!!
Definitely. It's the medical staff's job to make the correct assessments and keep a player off the field if need be.
You say fearful, but I don't think it's fear. I think he's committed and dedicated and wants to play every freaking down.
its fearful RT is not a gamer to want to play everydown, he is a paycheck player and he see's 26 mill coming his way. He doesn't play and gets hurt like he is, his chances of getting his money next year should be 0% but its Miami so maybe there's a 80% chance he gets it lol.
There's literally nothing that suggests that Tannehill is a paycheck player. You guys go too far with the **** you say about people you know nothing about.
For the love of all that is holy in this world, every kitten, horror puppy, and new born baby no he does not! He has a cap hit of $26 million. That is because he converted some of this year salary into a bonus. Stretching the cap hit over the remainder of his contract. He stands to make $18.750 million next season.
What is the ceiling a for a Gase/Tanny led team? 10-11 wins? 12+ and a legit Super Bowl run? If Tanny comes back in 2019 and we go 10-6, do you give him a new $25 mil/year contract (that would be a team friendly deal too)? Does he stay healthy after that new contract, or would 2019 be the fluke year where he remains uninjured? Or is it time to start over with a new QB (maybe not a new coach though)? Take the $13 million in cap savings by cutting/trading Tanny and use that money to help pay one of the young players (Howard at CB or James at RT)? You need to get a younger QB to develop though and a vet to start for part of the season if you draft a rookie.
To answer that question FAIRLY, you look at the overall performance of the TEAM in general. If Tannehill completes 70% + of his passes, throws for 4000 yards, 35+ TD's, maybe 12 INT and has a QBR of 90+...but the defense gives up 300 yards a game, 24 ppg and was the cause of those losses, why wouldnt you give Tannehill a new contract? The QB doesn't play defense and its been our defense that's been screwing the pooch the past couple of seasons.
I don't think he's fearful. He's never had any reason to be - especially with Gase being so unwavering about him. Of course that's also the reason we got to watch the Brocktologist since this team just won't DARE to challenge Tannehill.
Question nearly anything, however question Tannehill's toughness then you are just someone with an anti Tannehill agenda
