Heat need to swing a trade. Maybe for Kemba even if it means taking on Batum.

Don't remember that exactly. Alan Crabbe hit 8 three pointers on 11 shots in one game last year.

Warriors vs Pelicans isn’t nationally televised, but the spurs vs suns is? Lame.

I hope the Knicks lose every game the rest of the year. I want Zion Williamson. He is Lebron on steroids. Jesus freaking Christ, this dude just destroyed Kentucky almost single handedly. In the words of ESPN commentator Jay Bilas, “How do you stop this guy? Whose a matchup for him, Lawrence Taylor?” For those that aren’t aware, 6’7”/285 and a 45” vertical. Think Aaron Judge with hops. Or Charles Barkley but less fat. Developing a better outside game that extends out to the college 3, can handle the ball, really good passer...the biggest thing I need to see is consistency and effort in defense and continued improvement in his jumper. Not just blocks. But I guess when you beat #2 Kentucky by 30, who needs effort. I hate Duke but if they lose more then 2 games all year and don’t win the national title I’ll be stunned.

Why can't Miami just lay down for a couple years and net a couple of these guys. Tired of this hamster wheel of high effort low talent.

Trust me i know. For years my team tried getting washed up player after washed up player. Or 1 star and no/limited/injured help. Get Zion, sign KD, continue developing KP, Knox, Ntilikina, Treir, Dotson, etc....championship

Lebron on steroids is a bit exaggerating... he will be lucky to become as good as lebron was in his prime.

I think the only chance Kawhi stays in Toronto is a Finals appearance and this move by Philly puts that in jeapordy. I think he leaves.

Is there any scenario Kawhi comes to Miami that makes sense or can I give up that dream too?

Id put money on a LA team, either LAL or LAC, for Kawhi. I doubt he goes to an east coast team, though i wouldnt mind him on NYK either

Dwyane Wade will miss at least the next week and then “make a decision from there” on when he’ll return. His daughter was born premature.

The Nets curse strikes again. Our best player Caris Levert breaks ankle gruesomely against Minnesota. This was his coming out year and he was playing at a borderline all star level. It's crazy being a Nets fan. All our best players get taken from us through some freak ****. Petrovic auto accident, Bernard King alcoholism and now this. I hope he can come back from it and not lose that quick first step. Prayers

So it looks like Richardson, Olynyck, and a 1st was, in fact, the best package the T'Wolves were offered, but Miami pulled JRich off the table after that Minny botched it in the 11th hour (by asking for an additional $5M cash), and never put him back in with the year he's having. When they came back to Miami to try and rekindle that deal, Riley wasn't having it.

Time will tell whether this was a good move on Miami's part. As good as Richardson has been, he's not really ever going to be THE guy on a really good team, like Butler could be. At this point, I'd sniff around John Wall and see if you can get him for relatively cheap (that contract is monstrous), and if not, I'd dump whoever you can that isn't in the long term plans. It will be tough to move some guys, but Goran, KO, Whiteside, and Ellington should be guys you could get something for at some point. I'd maybe even think about trading McGruder for the right price. I don't know that I'd necessarily call it a "tank", but I'd look to develop the young guys while picking up as many future assets as you can. Let Richardson be your primary scorer. Let Bam get more of a chance to develop on offense. See what Derrick Jones Jr. can do with more minutes. And the result will almost certainly be a decent lottery pick in a pretty good draft class that you can either flip in a package for a disgruntled star like a Dame Lillard, or use on a potential building block.

    Another loss for the Knicks.

Rumors that have the Knicks possibly trading Courtney Lee when he gets back with Philly and Houston as possible destinations.

Nope. Not Houston. Don't want or need him. We've found our rotation. Giving all of Melo's, Gerald Green's, and Nene's minutes to Gary Clark (rookie), James Ennis, and Isaiah Hartenstein (basically a rookie) has unlocked something special.

Since our young guys have taken over the rotation minutes, the Rockets have 3 straight blowout wins over Indy (3rd in east), Denver (3rd in west), and GSW (1st in west). Since Melo left, our defensive coordinator decided to come back from retirement (*this is not a coincidence from what im hearing*). Things are looking up.

Pelicans get outplayed by the Knicks for 3 quarters, but turn it on in the fourth. Good teams can do that, I guess.

Knicks were featuring Trey Burke for a possible trade to New Orleans???

Why is helped starred out? Zion is more important then winning a game against the Pels.

And Trey Burke was right when he called this team out postgame in the locker room. He said we dont know how to respond when the other team goes on a run. Its a young team and theyre going to need to learn how to win. Thats why they had John Starks at the practice facility a few days ago, talking about how the last 5 minutes of the game you basically have to find another level.

Boik, I know you've been beating the Zion drum for a while now, and it seems like most of the country has jumped on the bandwagon. I've watched him a couple of times now, and he certainly is a specimen, but I still worry about how good he'll be in the NBA without a jump shot. In the NBA there will be other grown men, and superior athletes. He'll still be one of (if not THE) best athletes on the floor, but I wonder if his strength and athleticism will not be quite as dominant. I mean, look at a guy like Kenneth Farried. I know Williamson has some other attributes that Farried doesn't, but Farried is a physical freak without a jump shot, which led to him becoming an afterthought in today's NBA. So what is it about Zion that makes you think he'll be a star even without a jumper?

You can develop a jumper. Michael Jordan came in to the league with a work in progress jumper. While Zion won’t become MJ, I see no reason the jumper on an 18 year old can’t be developed. I mean if that’s your biggest qualm then what of Lebron, Kobe, Jason Kidd, or even guys like Blake Griffin who developed good or good enough jump shots? What I’m saying is, the jumper will come with work and time.

What makes me think he will be a star? Have you watched his games? Forget that he looks like a man amongst boys at Duke, the manner in which he plays is dominant. He’s the alpha. Even with guys like Barrett and Reddish who on other teams would easily be the #1 option, they feed off Zion. They feed off his energy, off his ability to draw defenses attention. While the post game is out of style, his game would be a tremendous compliment to KP. His 45 inch vertical allows him to contest and block shots from taller players.
