Sitton worries me were banking on this guy and he might not last 2 games next year.

I missed Chiefs/Rams but to me, it really doesn't matter how great they may be. If we can take the #6 slot, then that's all that matters. Maybe we do get blown out but at least Tannehill and the team get playoff experience to build on next year. That's always a big deal.

I'm not surprised at all. But good offensive coordinators fail out as head coaches as a matter of routine, so don't act surprised when people disagree with your assessments. Putting up numbers is a great way to get noticed and get a job, but after that it's all about what have you done lately. I just haven't seen consistency of progression, and that is with me taking into account injuries. Ok he made the playoffs. So did Tony Sparano, who overcame a bigger gap from the prior year to do it. Did that make Tony a great head coach? Clearly not.

If you want to keep sailing on his ship I can't fault you too hard at this point, but personally I am off unless we do something good this last portion of the season.

Which is why the Fins drafted a DB in the first round.

    Correction: He drafted the BPA.

Correction to the correction: He drafted a player that probably should have gone #1 overall in the draft.

I like the pick, but even taking QB's out of the equation ... Saquan is probably a Hall caliber player. Denzel Ward and Derwin James are outplaying Minkah at this point. Nelson is destroying people on Indy's line. Chubb and Smith have been playmaking disruptors. Minkah went in a good spot, glad we got him, but 2018 looks to be a heckuva draft class.

Don't forget Jackson who looks way more promising than our boy Tanny. I like Minkah no doubt but damn..

Ahh, I don't watch other teams/games much so I didn't know. How is Vea doing? He was projected to be our pick, but I watched his tape and figured he'd be a project or a complete bust. Just curious if I was wrong.

Yeah, my #1 pick would have been Barkley too....he looked pre-draft to be the real deal. He put me in the mindset of a Bo Jackson type. I couldn't see trading up for a RB though....massive gamble. I hoped and prayed that he'd drop with the QB fever though!

As far as James and Ward goes, they aren't playing 3+ positions on defense to cover for a depleted roster. What Minkah has done this year is incredible and I think he'll be our best player in 3 years (and in 5 years, 10 years, etc). I just love his instincts and his smarts....incredibly rare to have someone that smart and that physically gifted.

The way we've used him since day one is ridiculous...nobody else in the draft could do what he does. Maybe that doesn't make him the best player in the draft (to me it does) but darn, he's special.

Yeah I think he can be a special player as well ... though frankly I don't know if our defensive staff knows enough of what they are doing to get out of his way and let him thrive alongside our playmakers.

Vea is not a guy I have seen much of really, but the Bucs defense is garbage in general, as is that whole franchise. Move it to London and reboot it already lol. I just can't wait for Miami fans to start clamoring for Winston when he gets cut this offseason. Hard pass.
