Ok, this is probably getting ahead of myself here, but I was thinking of a pretty crazy scenario..

What if Pennington has a resurgence here in Miami, regains his status of one of the better QBs in the 2nd tier of QBs behind Brady and Manning.. Now, in 2 years, once Henne is given over the reigns, Pennington will become a FA.. Now this is where I am worried.. What if, after becoming one of the better QBs in the league again, he rejoins the Jets filling the vacated spot left by Favre's 2nd retirement?

I would hate to see that happen.. I dont want to hate Penny again!

Don't worry Favre will never retire. Figure the Jets QB position will open up about 2045 or so when Brett goes to the happy vicodin hut in the sky.

Sure is a lot of supposing there Skape...I think we just need to hope that he does have the resurgence...the rest will take care of itself...

Yeah I woudlnt worry about this. If he does end up back in new york, whats wrong with hating him again? we'll have a young, star QB who should be better than pennington, and if he does go back to the jets... like i said, he's the enemy again, so whats wrong with disliking him again?

Nice try at being funny...Favre is a win now scenerio...If he gives the Jets 2 years, it is gravy. the Jets are trying to develop Clemens. htey also have drafted Eric Ainge. And the camp surprise, Brett Ratliff. Both teams are in QB hell.

I would not worry about that. Penny had those chances already. Unfortunately, his shoulder injuries hurt that.

I don't mean this in an offensive way - but "win now" and "Jets" don't seem a good match.

i'd be fine with that, because if penny becomes the quarterback you fear he might, that means we'll be good again :)

The same could be said about Miami,,

Listen folks, we are talking about 2 teams who have not been able to compete since 1998

I don't disagree - I just don't think Favre is going to be near the guy Jets fans need him to be. With the cap space & age of some of the people the Jets brought in - if you don't win now the window may pass sooner than you think.

    ....

    Wow. Just...wow.

Chad Pennington is never going to reamerge is one of those Quarterbacks. His arm strength is gone. He is what he is now, a mediocre middle of the line, injury proned starting QB. And yes I would've told you exactly that, except in harsher words, if he was still with the Jets.

Then we pass over him for a Minnesota QB with a bad knee. Because we all know that a bad shoulder is worse than a bad knee....oh wait...nevermind that scenario already happened.

Arm strength is an over rated stat - I would rather have a QB with an average arm that makes the right decisions where to throw the ball, who doesn't force passes into coverage and turn the ball over a lot.

Same garbage is spread around here every year and now its down there. Do not let this man get into your heads. Wait until the real games. Wait until the real games. I think Miami fans have too much respect for him just because he's had his way with Miami in the past (thats about the only team he's had his way with).

    ROFL...what an active imagination.

Seriously, that would be great news. I would love to have one of the elite QBs in the league for two years.
