Quoted after the game against Buffalo: Beasley has written it up: "Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard is on fire. And he wants the world to know it. After two more picks Sunday, emerging superstar Xavien Howard doesn’t just lead the Dolphins with seven interceptions. He leads the entire league. And yet, his name was nowhere to be seen when the NFL announced its first round of Pro Bowl voting. If he doesn’t go to Orlando, it will be a travesty. He’s not only playing at a Pro Bowl level. He might be playing at an All-Pro level. “I don’t feel like I get recognized enough,” Howard said in the moments after the Dolphins’ 21-17 victory over the Bills Sunday. “I’m going to let them know I’m the best corner in the game.” Rest of story in link.
He deserves much more attention but he plays for Miami who doesn’t get the publicity because of years of irrelevancy. He will definitely get his cred with his next contract, that is guaranteed.
I get that he has the most interceptions in the league. Against that - At least 3 of those INTs have been on end of half bombs, which are not as game changing as other INTs. - He has been caught badly out of position and given up some TDs during the season. It is a definite snub for him to be out of pro-bowl consideration. He isn’t playing at All-pro level week in and week out, so I wouldn’t consider him for all-pro honors if I had a vote.
