Garfinkle pulling out all the stops, bottom line we have played well in them, better be careful, another scenario where we make a miracle happen in the throwbacks and a debacle happen the following week in the new ones and your gonna create a superstition with some players..lol
I appreciate that the owner wants an updated look to fit modern times, after all our previous logo probably wouldn't be used on a new team in the modern era. However, our previous logo and look were (are) classics and easily recognizable to the common fan. As it stand our current logo looks like one used by cruise ships, and the uniforms with the lighter colours don't look right. The owners should realise that tradition and classic looks have a place in the league. Imagine what Raiders fans would do if Mark Davis changes the silver and black for Las Vegas, or if the Giants owners changes their look, or the Cowboys change theirs. There would be uproar and rightly so. So as far as I'm concerned our owner should realise their mistake and bring back our classic look and ride with it. Most Dolphins fans and casual fans want them back, and I'd dare say they would be far more popular and sell better.
Under Gase, the Fins are 10-2 when wearing aqua jerseys over white pants (either the throwbacks or the regulars). I'm thankful and excited to see the throwbacks this week. For so many years, we were forced to only watch our team in white. Most fans love the throwbacks. Its awesome that we get them three times. We're going to end up wearing the regular aqua jersey only once this season. And we'll have now worn the throwbacks five out of the last six times we've gone with aqua jerseys overall, dating back to Week 14 of 2017. So for now, they kind of unofficially are our main aqua uniform.
They wear the whites at home games at the beginning of the season when it's still hot, forcing the visiting team to wear their darker alternates.
Oh I understand. I think that everyone does. It makes sense in September, no question. Most warm weather teams do it, and some from colder climates will the first two weeks or so as well. But aqua is our team color, not white. And I love to see them in those uniforms as a matter of pride. And nearly every other team, including Tampa Bay, Jacksonville and the Southern California squads, are in their regular dark jerseys by the end of September. Especially given the new roof, there's not a lot of reason to wait until October for the Fins anymore either, and I'll continue to hope that they come around to that. They certainly could have gone with aqua vs the Bears and Lions and lost zero advantage this season.
October is still hot and the roof is constructed so the opponent is in the sun. So I dont mind the white jerseys there.
But the old logo is so stupid and poorly designed. The Raiders logo looks great with the subtle changes they made to modernize it. I agree about the colors. I think they went too light. The old logo looks like a logo for a children's cruise
get rid of the new one and only wear the throwbacks. the new logo is tarnished and is a result of nothing but losing. time to go back!!!
Well, two things. #1, the team changed to the current uniform set in 2013, so if they wanted to, they could switch before next season. Including making the throwback the primary and the new one the alternate. #2, they likely won't do that, because they likely sell more merch the way it stands.
