Fellow 'Fin Fans: It's been an ugly season (per the usual), and as much as I enjoy mock drafting, it never feels good to look to the off-season during December football. And yet, here we are, hoping that the next wave of franchise changes and draft selections pave the way for a prosperous future in Miami--something that's long-overdue.

It's obviously very early and a lot will change in the coming months, but here it is anyway:

Combine measurements, player grades, and career projections still to come.

    Have a great holiday, everyone.

Edit: Error when trying to post Google Sheets link; clipped the sheet and uploaded to imgur instead. Let me know if it doesn't work for anyone.

We definitely do need help in that area. I really wonder what the team plans to do at QB because that will dictate a lot.

As far as the draft is concerned, there isn’t really any NFL quarterback available.

I know what the “experts” say and think regarding our defense but I truly believe we have GREAT talent on defense. They’re just lacking a GREAT DC. If that’s addressed in the off-season I think the defense is fixed.

Offensively we’ve been hampered by the same problem year after year...a poor offensive line. Gore may have been poised to hit the 1000 yard mark but in this day and age, 1200 yards is the new 1000 yard mark and our OLD hasn’t been able to provide the blocks required to hit that.

Miami should focus on OL in the draft, if nothing else, to set up the heir apparent to Tannehill in 2020 with a solid line.

Other non player issues needing serious addressing in the offseason are the OL coaching staff and most importantly, the strength and conditioning staff. We’ve been plagued by more than our fair share of injuries the past 3 seasons

Honestly, our defense isn't far off but with Wake at his age and with no real pass rush threats it is something we need to address.

I agree about the line, but I'm not sure it's where I'd focus my first pick. A guard better DOMINATE if you're taking him mid-first round because it's generally one of the easier positions to find after round one. If there is a great center Id take one no doubt.

I agree on this class of QB. None are really better than late first rounders but we will see what the team thinks.

Nice mock. DE is clearly an are of need as Charles Harris is a bust, and the rest of the guys are old. I would probably flip flop what you did in the second and third rounds, and get a QB earlier. G or C in the third feels right.

No joke, I thought the sack last week was the first of Harris career for a minute when it happened.

I wouldn't say Harris is a bust....he's getting on the field and getting quality reps. We have no idea if he'll develop or not in the near future...and that's coming from someone who said here on day one that he'd be a bust.

I looked at a few mock drafts. If we dont take a qb with the 1st pick. They are all gone by the next pick. As there are not very many that even look like they will be pros. Going by the scouting. about 90% of the articles i read say we stick with tannehill one more season. We need to draft really good. I personally just want my team to be good again.

Harris is still just 23. I agree that he hasn't lived up to his 1st round billing, but I'm not out on him like I am with DeVante. A transition to a base or hybrid 3-4 defense would do a lot for him; he's not big or strong enough to set the edge in the wide-9 or as a traditional 4-3 end. Perhaps he could have a bigger impact as an OLB/EDGE player. Pair him with Montez Sweat (who I wasn't originally high on, but the more I study, the more I like him) and you might just have a quality tandem coming off the edge.

I'm hesitant to grab a QB early because of how poor the class is. Mississippi State C Elgton Jenkins won't be there in the 3rd, and in my opinion, he's an instant starter/bubble Pro Bowler as a rookie--well worth a 2nd round selection if he's available. Best chance to land a QB is going to be out of a small school in the mid-late rounds (Justice Hansen, Clayton Thorson, Jacob Dolegala, Brad Mayes, to name a few). If one of them don't pan out, at least we didn't use a high pick on them--besides, the 2020 draft is absolutely loaded at QB with Tua Tagovailoa, Jake Fromm, Jacob Eason, and now Justin Herbert.
