An amusing take on Dolphins vs. Jags:

    https://www.news-journalonline.com/...ball-dolphins-jags-not-what-we-thought-itd-be

"The Dolphins hold on to playoff hopes, but barely. And the Jags? Don’t ask.

What figured to be a fun and maybe even important Sunday in south Florida has decayed into something else entirely.

Almost cruelly, the Playoff Gods are still dangling a wildcard possibility in front of the Miami Dolphins. They just need to win their last two games and then hope. At this stage, they’d probably mess up the hoping.

Currently dangling in front of the Jacksonville Jaguars: The fifth pick in next spring’s draft. Bad news: None of the draft-eligible quarterbacks is rated above mid-first-round quality.

Dolphins vs. Jags, and here’s what you need to know. The Dolphins, fresh off that miracle to beat New England, went to Minnesota riding a high and left on a gurney, playoff hopes hooked to an IV.

Not saying the offensive line was porous, but their quarterback might be listed on this week’s injury report with rug burn. Not since Joe Namath has ... oh, never mind.

Yet they’re 4-point favorites, which tells you where the Jags currently rank. Frankly, a 4-point spread seems incredibly low right now for any team against the Jags, assuming the ’76 Bucs aren’t reuniting.

    Did someone mention the Bucs?

Throughout journalism history, some of the best writing has often been found in obituaries. Therefore, it makes sense that you can find colorful prose these days in a publication such as, say, the Tampa Bay Times.

From columnist Martin Fennelly, regarding the current Tampa Bay Buccaneers: “They’ve lost the town they should own. They’ve maybe lost some children who might have grown up Bucs fans. It’s like the kids who can’t stay up for World Series games and lose touch with baseball. Except the Bucs mostly have done this in broad daylight.”"

Its terrible that the three teams don't share the same division and play one another every year. The Dolphins have only hosted the Jaguars once in the last twelve years, and twice ever in the 24 year history of the Jacksonville franchise.

I think the divisions should be boundary-based as well- make the 3 Fla teams and Atlanta a division. Throw the Giants in the AFC East, etc so all teams are close to each other and fans have more incentive to drive to the games. I've always thought that made more sense from a fan and a revenue perspective.

They way the scheduling rotation is set up, every team plays each other at least once every 4 years, every team should visit every stadium at least once every 8 years. No way your statement can be correct.

We hosted the Jags in on December 3rd, 2006, December 13th 2012, and now will on December 23rd 2018. Its been 12 years, with one game in between.

2012 was 6 years ago. The current scheduling rotation has been in effect since 2002. My statement would only apply since then. This upcoming game would be the third game hosted in a 12 year span. So about once every six years.

Maybe not. Dolphins schedule changed when the NFL changed the rules for how many miles or coast to coast trips or some ish I don't remember the deet's about but instead of 8 yrs it took 12 for the Phins to come back to Seattle. Saw them here in 2005, they were supposed to be back 2013 but the Shehacks got beat in Miami that yr instead, and they played in Seattle to open the Season last yr. Continuing the curse, 0-8 now live for me. So its possible, just sayin.

I'm going to the ninth circle of hell on the 30th. I'm watching the Dolphins vs the Orchard Park Bills. I expect to be met with hostility.

Good luck! I once worked with someone from Rochester, and after she realized that I was a Dolphin fan, she told me with all seriousness that my life would be in danger if I tried to go to a game up there.

I'm going up there with a friend from Rochester. He told me that Bills Mafia will try to power bomb me through a table. Screw it, we got nothing to play for and I'll drink to ease my Dolphins pain.

Do it. Represent. If someone does power bomb you through a table just know your family probably has an amazing lawsuit to file and will be taken care of.

Oh I have got that part down. I'm going to rep the Fins in Orchard Park hard. No one outside Western, Ny gives a **** about the Bill's. It's like a second rate Cleveland up there.

On a lighter side I got a "lifelong" Patriots fan arguing with me about the 72 Dolphins cheating. Jesus Christ these people are sore *******s. I cannot wait for their reality in 2019 and 2020. Its going to be real fun when they crash and burn. Or maybe a few scandals are thrown at them. But yeah Patriots fans are some of the worst people ever.
