I always thought of him, so intelligent and i think he would be a heck of an coach, Marino should talk to him, maybe start as Qb Coach.
I doubt he will ever do it. He can only hurt his legacy if he fails and success doesn't add that much unless it's as a Head Coach. Also, Id wonder if he can adapt to the limitations of a QB less talented than himself trying to run his ideal offense.
You know more than me. Was it his offense or the fact that he prepared his *** off and knew what the defense was throwing at him every down so he could audible out of the play if he had to and take advantage of them? Omaha!
He wouldn’t come to Miami even if he wanted to coach. He’s good friends with Gase and lobbies for him. If he goes anywhere it will be with Gase in some capacity. Also a great web doesn’t make a good offensive coordinator
I don't think that Peyton wants to coach, though I believe that he could. However, there have been many stories that he wants to eventually control a team, and so a front office position would possibly be something that he'd be interested in. I wanted to explore the idea of bringing him to Miami as team president, along the lines of what Elway does in Denver. However, that won't happen now with what Ross did promoting Grier.
I don't think it's a good idea to give a player a coordinator position right out of the gate. If anything, maybe have start off as a coaching intern like Dan Campbell did.
I think Peyton Manning is still interested in football, but that he sees himself as a GM or higher in the chain of command. More likely he will become an owner or at least a partner in some franchise. He may just revert back to college football in some kind of management role.
There's is less than 0% chance that Manning ever becomes an NFL coach of any kind. GM- Maybe Owner- Maybe NFL Coach- Never
I know less than others that is for sure haha. I'd probably say both though. He knew what to audible into due to that preparation though. He's just gifted beyond most other QB's.
I dont think his accomplishments as a player would be looked down upon for his performance as a coach if it didnt work out. I mean, the guy was a player first and foremost, and one of the best to have ever done it. If he cant get someone else to perform to his level, which was far beyond the majority that have done it before him, I don't see anyone holding that against him. If they do, it'd be a footnote in size -72 font unless the person highlighting it is just a bit... out there. I'd never blur the too IMO. Two different things playing and coaching. They're not tied IMO. Very few are capable of doing one exceptionally well at this level, and even fewer are capable of doing both exceptionally well.
To fair, smart fans sure. To others he would be "Peyton, great QB but terrible coach" It's not so much about ruining anything I suppose, but I don't think there is any benefit for him either. Even if its only a tiny negative.
would never work, a player like manning comes around every 10-15 years and the odds miami gets that guy is 0% his expectations for a qb would be too high it would crumble from the start. all great players make horrible coaches, college maybe since expectations for performance is smaller. But a great mind and a mediocre player make great coaches (mostly)
