Anyone else took the plunge and ordered anything from China, or is wearing 'unofficial' gear strictly a taboo subject? This arrived today and while it's clearly not the real thing, it's not something that I'd be ashamed to wear. The numbers are clearly smaller, the 'Dolphins' across the front is smaller and lacks the orange shadow but all numbers, letters and logos are stitched/embroidered. $17.64 inc shipping or about £13 and arrived 12 days after it was ordered. I'll take the hit on authenticity for that price, compared to over $100 for the official replica. Thoughts?
For the money it don't look awful but is there any guilt for not giving the NFL their cut? No? I didn't think so.
I'm not a guy that buys jerseys just because I don't want to drop $100 and have my player traded the next season- I'm just too cheap to do that. To me, what you got is not a jersey, which is perfectly fine. I've spent $20 on many Fins tees over the years and that looks a lot better than them. So if you bought it as a Fins shirt, you got a great deal. If you bought it to pass for a jersey, you got what you paid for. That's just my opinion though; it all comes down to perspective. It's funny they dropped the Nike and official NFL logos on it though- I think that's the only thing I don't like. The quality looks pretty good for a knockoff so I don't think you made a bad purchase...it's just not an NFL jersey.
every year I buy a new visor. it's about as far as I go. haven't worn a player jersey since I was in my 20's
I'm with you. I buy 2 47 navy Dolphins hats every year. 2 years ago I bought the dark gray, almost black, sweatshirt Gase always wears, I call it my Gase jersey .
I like it. I'm tired of buying jerseys and then the guy F's up. What's the site? I'd like to get a Fitz.
Search Google for DHgate.com, then search that site for NFL, Dolphins, whatever. There's several sellers on there. The seller I bought mine from was called b2bcn
Indeed, it's just a glorified T-shirt which will be worn as and when. I'm not going to be entering any 'Hunkiest Bloke in a Genuine NFL Jersey' competitions in it or turning up at the gates on gameday, pretending to be our number 1 pick...
I like to hang them in my man cave. Funny when I went to Green Bay for a game last year I'd have to say at least 75% of everyone who showed up was in a jersey. I guess The High Exhausted is part of the no fun crowd.
I've bought a couple of these jerseys from China. They are fine, but feel a litte overly heavy in material. compared to some of the newer jerseys, I wouldn't buy one from China again.
Well you get what you pay for I guess. I would only buy a knockoff if it were damn near close to the original and that workmanship does NOT fit the bill.
I think it is decent for 20 bucks. All that matters is if YOU like it. I don't have the resources to get a jersey. The only ones I have are the ones I got at a garage sale ( A Zach and a Ricky, 2 for $10), and some shirts my daughter got me from Good Will. When I have to hit the sports bar because CBS in Orlando is airing the Jags (Bastards!), I wear one of those. Mostly, so other Dolphin fans know I am one too, and we can talk shop. :-)
My sister got me a Tannehill Jersey...it's definitely a knockoff, and she definitely thought she was buying it from a legitimate seller. It's pretty good quality, though. All stitched numbers, letters, and logos. I won't feel any shame wearing it.
I have a couple from China, I never thought they were too bad for the price. Then my wife bought me an authentic Tannehill jersey, and it's by far light years better. It's not worth the crazy price tag they put on them, but the color is right, the fabric feels and looks different, its just better in every aspect. They're not even close to comparable IMO. Last time I bought one was about 4 years ago now, so maybe they've gotten better.
As a bit of a frivolous distraction from all the new coach malarkey, I thought I'd post pics of another one of these China knock-off jerseys that I bought after xmas. I guess it was a xmas present from the other half - in a sort of roundabout fashion. OH: 'What do you want for xmas?' Me: 'I want a white Dolphins game jersey.' OH: 'You're not having another bloody Dolphins shirt. You're a grown man not a 12 year old!' Cut to xmas day - OH: 'Happy xmas. I didn't know what to get you so here's some money to buy something..' 3 days later... Me: 'Hello, is that the Chinese NFL knock-off shop?.....etc' It has the now ubiquitous elasticated sleeves, which I'm not particularly fond of for a knock about wear but hey-ho. Numbers and lettering are correct shade of aqua - it looks off in pics but it's not. Pretty good for just over $15 dollars delivered I'd say.
I get almost every jersey i have from over there, im not sure the site i get them through a buddy who orders alot. they are alot better quality than that and look real authentic. However they do have crazy color schemes that i like. Yours looks fine to me as someone else says if you like it who cares i seriously doubt a mediocre team anyone will even take 2 glances at it. If anyone judges just say since we havnt won they stopped making authentic gear because the NFL forgot we existed. I stopped getting new players jerseys since they are only around for a yr or 2 i almost broke down and got Landry jersey this year thank god i didn't. I stay consistent with wake, marino and taylor.
....it's not my fault your parents raised you to be a shallow, overzealous a-hole. Now run along and go judge someone who might give a **** what you have to say. If you have a problem with the shirt I'm wearing, you have two options- Option 1, tell me why I'm wrong for wearing a shirt that I like...and then feel stupid as I embarrass you in front of all your friends. Option 2, just STFU and save your opinion for someone who cares. Never make excuses for what you enjoy in life, my friends. Own that stuff and put anyone in their place for telling you not to be you.
The only dolphins jerseys I own are a Dan Marino and a Ricky Williams and at ~$120 they were worth it.
I have 3 right now on the wall under the TV. Tannahill, Wake and Fitz. When they move on, they get moved to the roof of the man cave. I have Marino, Taylor, Long, Jordan and Landry and on the roof. Would like a Zack as he's one of m favorites just never bought one.
When I see blokes wearing Pats, Packers and 49ers jerseys here in the UK, I'm not skilled (or anal) enough to know if they're genuine or knock off and I don't really care. Same with the ones worn by nearly everyone at the London games. Win-win in this case cos my name is also Baker! If I get pulled up for being sad enough to have a shirt with my name on the back, I can turn round and say that it's actually a Dolphins player. Likewise if he gets traded, I can always claim that I'm a saddo with my name on the back of my shirt!
It means you're a huge loser if you're over 16 and spend your money on a player jersey who is going to be on your favorite team for 3-4 years. But a t shirt.
I know people who spend far more money than that in a month on smokes and charlie, of which I do neither. I can handle being a loser in that case...
Ooof that Fitzpatrick jersey looks like a badly butchered home economics project. What a hot pile of garbage. Personally I think both fake and real jerseys are a waste of money, but everyone needs something silly to punch their wallet. I buy too much LEGO (for the kids...) and own more jiu jitsu gis than days in a week so no judgement here.
I'm done buying NFL jerseys. I bought a Tannehill the year they switched over to Nike. That's the last new player jersey I'll ever buy. I'll stick to my Marino, JT and Clayton official jerseys and I rarely wear those. I'd rather wear a hockey jersey. Way more comfortable.
