Yea where is the irony really?
Y'all hate the Patriots so much that the next Coach is a Patriot
The very essence of Dolphin success revolves around a guy who has been a Patriot his whole career
Chew on that one for the.next several years

If I didn't know any better I'd say you sound exactly like a scorned fan who got their feelings hurt so you latched on to the Patriots to make it all better. Hey, did you watch the AFC Championship game? You came VERY close to being a Chiefs fan.:sidelol:

Wait. The Dolphins just Hired Flores as the HC. The very essence of everything you will be for years to come is being turned over to a Patriot and all you can manage is I am a scorned fan.
Not scorned tired. Exhausted from losing. Since Marino left (take him against Brady anyday), the phins are 144 - 160. It must really piss you guys off to know that Ross has turned to the enemy as a last resort because despite their best efforts they cant figure it out.
    Lol
Patriots beat the Chiefs twice this year - all that matters is the final score
    PATRIOTS 34
    RAMS 21
Bellicheck and Flores will take CJ and Gurley II out of the game. Goff cant beat them with just his arm.

Why do people care where a coach comes from? They aren't fans of the team beyond their job. It's where he happened to land.

Come Monday he is NOT a Patriot, he is the Head Coach of the MIAMI DOLPHINS. I don't care where the guy comes from as long as he gets us back on top of the division. And you know what? If he sucks and we go in the ****ter again I'll still be a Dolphins fan. I don't get the bandwagon "fans" in any sport. Kinda lame.

I have my reservations about Flores. Another coordinator we're giving a shot at the big job rather than a former experienced HC...and I'm not all that impressed about Caldwell being brought in as well. I believe his success was linked to Manning and what was already established by Dungey. I see Caldwell as the Barry Switzer of the NFL. But with that being said, it does appear we are building a staff that does have championship experience, so maybe that'll change the overall environment.

We'll just have to wait and see but I'm not going to succumb to this trolling by a scorned Dolphins fan turned redcoat...and neither should any of you

Why do people care what college and stats a player has before being drafted. Because it matters. What's lame is it's been 20 yrs and noone can figure out how to win consistently. A lot of teams have raided the Pats staff over the years with one flaw.
The system is self supporting with the philosophy "Do your Job". It is very important where Flores comes from and his history - if you guys dont want to acknowledge Flores exp is questionable with one season of calling defensive plays your drunk on the coolaid to think this guy is going to be the next Shula. Why does Miami have to be the proven grounds for these maybe they have potential coaches. Lol what does Gase do after being fired - hires Greg Williams who would have been a great fit here in Miami. I guess only time will tell once AGAIN. Sad to say until Ross gets his head out of his *** and hires a real Director of Football operations this franchise will continue to waddle in mediocrity. Call me bandwagon - whatever. Cant stand to see this team year after year after year screw itself in the rear out of ineptitude. So sad that you guys have lowered your standards by defending the crap they continue to put in the field.

No. It's sad that you've gone over to rooting for the Patriots, and are on here telling Dolphins fans how pathetic they are because they're rooting for their team to get better.

I'd stop watching football forever before I'd go and start rooting for the Patriots. And no, I don't care that we're pulling coaches from them. Unless they're bringing Ernie Adams and BB with them, then I don't think we'll get any of their underhanded cheating **** here, and the cheating is my biggest issue with the Patriots and why I despise them.

The post you were replying too was simply stating that they don't mind where a coach comes from - in the context of rivalry. This has nothing to do with a question of quality.

Taking your post in isolation though, it seems to be self contradictory. On the one hand you say that it matters where people come from, thus implying it matters that Flores comes from the Patriots. On the other hand you're saying that it doesn't matter that Flores comes from the Patriots because it's the organisational culture that is important.

Nor do you offer any solution beyond hiring a "real" director of football. Who would you have preferred this year?

And when Belichick was hired, was he a real director of football?

Again, I have to ask, why do you care? You're not a fan of the team anymore. You are essentially coming to a rival team's web site and blasting them for trying to be positive about their team. That is, by literal definition, trolling.

I don't even know where to begin with this long run on paragraph. It's kind of weird reading a big brick of text making different points but here I go.

    1) Most people actually don't care what college you went to if you faced good competition. In the NFL there are only 32 teams, this isn't like college where a guy can come from a place with no competition. Not sure where you are even coming from on this but it's a nonsensical point.

    2) Most coaches fail. I've been over this before. Correlation does not equal causation. The Pat's coordinators who left didn't fall in with a QB early on lke most successful coaches are whether by design or luck. I can't say Crenell or McDaniels are bad coaches, I've only seen them in situations way worse than Gase was talent wise for comparison. Hell even Bill was basically a piece of toilet paper before Brady.

    3) If you reply to this please use paragraphs.

When did I say any of you were pathetic? That's is your own mind talking, not me. Get your facts straight. What I eluded to and stopped short of was the almost 20 yr "PATHETIC" attempt to improve the team. Unfortunately, the phins are 134 - 160 during that time. If you really want to get into it we should go back to 1973 , 45 YRS AGO, this team ain't won **** since. The object of the race is to win the suoerbowl. Anything short is failure.
I have never called anyone pathetic here.

So let's take this a Step further.
We are all fans. I am getting some push back because I started following the Pat's 4/5 yrs ago. My loyalty is questioned and some have suggested I quit posting. I wont because I enjoy the time I spend here - however limited and I still follow this team - but with severe reserve.
Some dont mind where the coach comes from but are taken back because I'm the enemy - right?
    Why the double standard?
I think Ross and.company again are missing the Mark on a unproven guy who has 1 yr as a DC.
Just more recipe for disaster. What does he know?
The Patriot way. So when you tell me they dont care - your really saying we dont mind becoming the Patriots. What else could you legitimately expect?
Should have hired Greg William's or Bruce Arians when they were available.
Lol ====== **** even Gase got that message

It absolutely matters where people come from. Those PLACES should be.numerous with a well rounded lenthy expierence. If Flores fits your definition of that then the Phins are good. Personally I think it is another 3 - 5 yr waste of time. Expecting Flores to come in and run the whole franchise with zero HC experience is counterintuitive and counterproductive. Didnt the phins just get done with that experiment?? So let's double down?? Greg William's was available ( oh wait, Gase got him), Bruce Arians was available, and I'm sure the phins could have at least talked to Phillip's in LA.
Anyone of these folks could have served In any capacity. Maybe all 3. Additionally another very good coach who showed promise was Doug Marone - be took the Bill's defense and. Built it into top 5 in 2 yrs. Had he had a QBs he would have quite possibly given the Pat's a run for their money. But in true Buffalo fashion they **** the bed and he resigned because top brass was in love with Tyrod Taylor - who was supposed to be the next Mike Vick
Wheres Taylor now? Is he even in the league?

So I am going to roll out with the following
These similar discussions were had with Philbin and Gase. I was right both times then and I will be right now. I was right about Tannenbaum and how the signing of Suh would set this team back a minimum of 5 yrs. I was right about Tannehill and how the phin s needed to continue to search for that Franchise Qb. My posts are not meant to single out anyone or to question any of your loyalty to the phins. If anyone is or was offended I apologize to each one of you as it has never been my intent. So I will bow out gracefully for a while and go enjoy superbowl weekend - in case.you didnt realize - Pat's are about to win their 6th
    Good luck next year gentlmen

Just to put this in proper perspective, it's a hell of a lot easier to be right when you predict failure in the NFL than when you predict success because most new coaches and drafted players fail rather than succeed. So don't "pat" (pun intended) yourself on the back too much making predictions about failures. More impressive would be to accurately predict which new hires and draft picks will succeed.

Yeah, you didn't specifically say anyone was "pathetic." But you continue to make statements like the quote above, and the general tenor of your posts is coming across as mocking and judgemental. Not to mention, it's incredibly poor taste to come on here and start talking up the Patriots and their Super Bowls, and bragging to everyone how you're now rooting for the Pats.

Put away your faux offense, you've been around forever, you knew exactly the responses you would generate with the stuff you've been saying.

The next franchise Qb to come out if college will be Trevor Lawrence. That 2 yrs away, maybe one if he declares. The phins should prepare - trade the whole draft if you half to. I know, I know sounds extreme - but a franchise qb will be needed to unseat the Pats.

Dude if you project - I cant help that. My comments have been directly at the management of this team.
This team has been mismanaged for decades and slowly beaten fans into accepting mediocrity.
My statement about you guys lowering your standards is true - you have. Almost all on here accept making the playoffs as success. The prize is the Lonbardi trophy. Anything short is failure.
The mind is a funny thing. I get it - the psychological need to feel good by winning allows one to accept making the playoffs as success.
Dont take it personally but there is one thing for sure you can count on moving forward. When Flores arrives the short minded thought process of making the playoffs being good enough and the selfishness of players not playing as a team and holding each other accountable will be a thing of the past. Look for a almost full roster turn over. If your over paid your history.....its the Patriot blueprint of success.
    It's what Flores knows.

With all due respect sir I have always been very opinionated. A lot of my opinions have been derived from coaching football here in Atlanta for 16 yrs. Now granted it is not the NFL but our 501 - 3c, the North Atlanta Giants was started by Brandon Jacob's and a handful of other coaches including myself. We have had many NFL players and.college players coaching for the last 5 yrs.

We have been exposed to a lot of different philosophies and coaching ideals. Ronnie Brown, Jason Cambell, Jason St Paul Pierre, and several others etc have all been here with us. All of our coaches have some form of College football exp.

I admire the success that Belichick has had in NE because no matter what is thrown his way - he perseveres. Teams have robbed his coaching staff and his players have repeatedly gone elsewhere not having the same level of success. The Rams lost in my opinion because Sean McVay was star struck. He even was making comments before the game on the.sideline that he couldn't wait to see what Belichick came up with as a game plan to stop them. I was shocked when I heard that on NFL films. McVay openly admitted in the press conference that he was out coached.

The reason I predicted Flores will have limited success is the way the Patriots do things. Do your job to the best of your ability for the benefit of the guy next.to you. Funny to hear but both the Eagles and Rams where saying the same thing and they both ended up in the show. Maybe there is something to that very simple philosophy. IMO, from coaching, it is much easier to bring together 10 pieces of a pie - that each have been perfected individually, at game time then to have a hand in each one persoanllly.
It is hard for any man to put aside their ego for the betterment of the team. But to get 53 grown men to do it plus the coaches is a monumental task. So the question is, Can Flores get all these new people to buy into that philosophy? Will Flores allow his ego to get in the way and not follow the blueprint and do things his way? Its Haaaaaaard to become the HC of a storied franchise like the Phins and not go with your ego now that you have gotton the nod.

This thread seems to have run it's course. We're going round in circles now and it repeatedly generates personally focused posts. The season is done and I don't think we're going to be any the worse off for ending this one so I'm locking the thread.
