The third game of the Thanksgiving schedule could be coming into focus. After a report earlier this week that the two early holiday games would include Bears-Lions and Dolphins-Cowboys, we may have an idea of the prime time matchup. Via Michael Rand of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, an Eagles trip to play the Vikings appears to be the late game of the three. John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal (who reported the first two games) said during a SI media podcast with Jimmy Traina what he had heard about the game. “I didn’t actually write about this but I have heard that Minnesota vs. Philadelphia is one that’s in play,” Ourand said. “It’s not dead set, but I’m told that it’s pretty likely.” The Vikings have never hosted a Thanksgiving game, though they’ve played in eight of them against either the Lions or the Cowboys.
I don't know who our QB will be or how well our team will be playing this year, but I think we will win. Just a gut feeling, but I am calling it now. I think our guys will come to play.
Ugh give us Detroit I don’t want to play the cowboys that’s just asking for another national embarrassment!
I think the team will play hard, but we're most likely going to be gutting the roster over the next year or two. I expect Flores to have them prepared, but wins are going to be really hard to come by.
I think you're going to need to embrace the fact that the next two years are going to be tough to stomach. The sooner you do it, the easier it will get.
AAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!! Stop talking about November. It's not even spring yet. Let me enjoy another hot summer like last year and then I'll be happy to consider the Thanksgiving games .......... in September!
The same guys that said the team sucks last year and needs to rebuild are going to be pissed when they go 3-13 next season.
This team doesn't have their QB next year currently on the roster. Whether it's a rookie or Ryan Fitzpatrick or some other bum, they aren't winning 6-7 games.
I’d be careful not to underestimate the power of a culture change and potentially a true leader at HC. The talent gap in the NFL isn’t all that big for the most part, so coaching is paramount to a teams success. We have gotten crap QB play for the most part since 1998, whomever our starter is can’t be too much worse than what we have had the past 20 years. It wouldn’t surprise me if wenfind a way to go 7-9 8-8 again, even though it would be bitter sweet.
Don’t be too sure of that opinion. Gase took virtually the same identical team that was 6-10, went 10-6 and made the playoffs in his first season as head coach. Flores could very well do the exact same thing. Then again, Flores could be extremely overrated, in over his head and the Dolphins could very well become the next Detroit Lions. I’m hoping for the former and not the latter but feel we will end up somewhere in between.
I think NOT having Gase call the plays is good for 2-3 wins all by itself. We sweep the jest because Gase IS calling their plays. We could very well make the play-offs.
I honestly have zero opinion on Flores. I just hope he pans out. I dont know how anyone can make make any statement when we havent seen Flores lead a team yet. I didnt have any opinions when sparano or gase got the job either... philbin made no sense to me though... the guy’s role in greenbay was overrated always..
I disagree with that. We are at our record says. We had our share of disasters and injuries too that could have had us at 9-10 wins.
We're all free to disagree of course. And I don't think there's a single cliche in sports that I hate more than "you are what you're record says you are". No offense to you speficially, but that's such a load of crap. Everything needs to be looked at subjectively. One 7-9 team might be much, much better than another. If you put the Dolphins and Falcons up against one another, I think virtually everyone would agree that Atlanta is winning that game 80% of the time, minimum.
I agree that you need to look at the team objectively. What I mean though is that it's pointless to say how many games we should or shouldnt have won because in the end we won the number of games we did through good breaks and bad. In other words...yes, let's look at the team objectively but without assigning arbitrary win numbers to the equation I guess.
That was 2017 man, not 2018. And beyond that, the Falcons were clearly the better team that day. They choked.
Thanksgiving game against the Cowboys? Sign Fiedler and Chambers quick! And bring back those sweet white throwbacks
