So like gase said he can make tannehill good. Now flores thinks he can make parker good? I hope he is right for several reasons.

Actually not a bad deal at all depending what the incentives are.

When I listen to Parker talk I honestly feel like he wants to be out there contributing. I dont mind giving him an audition with a new staff as he comes into what should be his prime.

He doesnt come across to me like a guy that doesnt care. I just think he needs some good coaching and maybe the change will motivate him to succeed.

Edited Add On: Also like it's a two year deal. It gives him every incentive to light the field on fire and play for another contract. Smart move for us to buy low on a big ceiling

I wonder if this isn't a last ditch effort to get Teddy. They played at Louisville together. If so, hope it works. I would rather have Teddy over Tyrod.

There are conflicting reports about whether or not the Dolphins made a run at TB. It's possible they were never interested.

When Stills is traded and two guys coming off serious injuries I guess you have to have some semblance of a #1 WR to start the season.

Even if they didn't make a run at Teddy it falls in line with their supposed strategy. Get and keep young players on small contracts. Hopefully they do trade stills and get some more ammunition for the draft. I wish we could have kept James though, but Denver simply put it at a number that didn't make sense for us.

I don't mind it. Guy has the talent. See if a new staff can get something out of him. Deal isn't overly expensive or lengthy if you can't.

Cap wise, do incentives count at the max amount possible against the cap?

Very sweet! This is kind of what I suggested that they should do. I'm eager to see what the details are.

Could Parker's extension be related to the QB move. His catch radius and ability to win jump balls would help bail out Taylor or Bortles if they are the next QB.

WR continuity may be an asset when bringing in a veteran QB with accuracy issues. The current group of Dolphins WR may have disappointed us with their play-making ability, but their spacing on routes seems much better then when they had guys freelancing or not knowing the plays. For Chad O'Shea, implementing a new offense with known pieces might be more valuable then having it hampered by new players adjusting to Miami lifestyle, players, etc.

I haven't been excited over the QB options, but the team had more of an identity with Matt Moore. If the offense reverts to a play-action, gunslinger throws, and power running blocking, the team might be more competitive week by week.

IMO, Flores was hired, not for his X's and O's, but for his management style and his ability to relate. I had written Parker off; however, if Flores can help change Parker's attitude for the better and turn him into a legit WR, then I will give the guy major props. I believe this situation has major challenges and will be a good measuring stick for Flores and his ability to connect with his players or not. I sure hope it works out.

Except better than Amendola isnt the point AT ALL.

By the time we rebuild the roster in 2-3 years Amendola will be older and less viable than he is now.

With Parker you're just giving a young talented player a chance to see whether he can be part of the long term picture.

It's not a lot of money and incentive driven.

Why are you so angry about every move they make?

For a deal that is 2 years for $10 million? I don't hate it, but I don't know how Parker learns to be durable. I think he remains a 'if only' kind of player.

I don't think it's a bad move. What receiver are you getting for Parker's new price that is better?

Do you want to try and develop young talent or roll with older better players? make up your mind. You've been upset with Miami in two separate threads for doing exactly what you were upset they didnt do...

Only problem I have with this is that in order for Parker to get those incentives or even be good he’s going to need a QB. Johnny bag o nuts is t going to make him a pro bowler!

If he proves himself well to Flores and Oshae, then they'll likely be comfortable with him being a prime target for the rookie in 2020, should that be the way we go.

Gotta give you credit. You've been calling for this all season while the only thing I've been calling Parker is Diva Devante :D

It just seemed to me like a reasonable middle ground that should make sense to both sides. And it's unlikely that were sitting here next March in the same boat. The new coaches will make their own call after being around him for a year. But hes still young, and is a guy with absolutely no behavior or legal issues. Let's see if they use him better than Gase did, because gase had bizarre ideas of how to use a lot of the guys.

I hate this move. I hate this guy. I hate the way he plays. And I really HATE how soft he is. NEVER fights for the football or helps his qb out. Always out for weeks on end with a hangnail. The softest football player. We have on the team.

We resign this jerkwad and let a decent player like James walk. And Parker is at a position where there is actually a little depth and James is leaves a massive hole. This move stinks.

He's no diva, he's a worthless Puddin' Pop.

Puddin' Pop Parker. I wonder how many games he will miss this year because he got a bad haircut?

Better than the 5th year option. Like that it's incentive loaded. Maybe that will light a fire under his ***. He's been underwhelming, but believe he still has potential, but the likelihood of him taking advantage of that is slim IMO.

Someone mentioned this in Club, where if Devante puts together 1 or 2 productive seasons on this contract, much like the Eric Rowe signing, and then signs a big deal somewhere else, we'll get compensatory picks out of it.
