I love how it's an "exclusive" contract....like all the regular contracts let you play for other teams on Tuesdays or something.

 

It is exclusive because he cannot negotiate with another team unless Miami decides not to sign him

It is a contract. Zach Sterup was a free agent that wasn't free. An exclusive free agent if you will because only Miami had the rights to sign him.
