Blessings to everyone. Holy Week is here again (although I'm a day late in jumping in here).
As with anything the time always flies by and is easily lost on daily tasks and the usual things that come up.

The Bible, in Hebrews 12, tells us, "Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

As Holy Week is here I just wanted to encourage all of us brothers (and sisters?) in Christ to follow that teaching and set our minds and hearts on looking at Jesus Christ. Who is He, what He did for us 2000 years ago, and what He does for us now, is so amazing, so mysterious, so gracious, and merciful, so loving, and eternal beyond our full understanding. He is worthy of everything we can give him, and it is good for us spend time meditating on Him.

This is Holy week and although the week itself isn't special, we can make it a special and holy time by spending extra time reading about Jesus, and considering what He did and said. In John 7 we read, "Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’”

That call is for all us. Every human being on the planet, if we will heed Him.

So I thought I'd post some suggested readings and devotionals in case it helps anyone to spend time this week seeking God. I'm reminded of Zaccheus climbing the tree. For all his faults, on that day, when Jesus was passing nearby, he didn't let the crowd, or anything else, get in his way, and he ended up sitting down with Jesus at home, eating a meal and ultimately his life was changed. Easter is here, and in a sense, He's passing by, the opportunity is here. So we too, if we will make the effort to climb the tree to see Jesus, can end up eating with Him and being changed by it.

God loves you. He has great things planned for you. He desires to spend time with you, to be known and loved by you, even as He knows and loves you. This week, lets take the time, each day, as a priority, to fix our eyes on Jesus, to go to Him and drink, that we might know Him. "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." (John 17).

    Readings:

I'll post some daily readings here, but here are two other resources I'll be using by myself and with my family:

Blessings to you Galant and to all of you on this forum. Our congregation hosted a community cantata last night that highlighted the "last seven days". It was a beautiful and meaningful way to begin this week.

Thanks for especially looking at the whole week. IMO, too often we jump right into Easter and while that is the climactic day, understanding how we all get there is the story.

    Again, blessings to you all!

A most blessed Thomas Sunday to all of you!

The Thomas story in John's Gospel is my favorite passage of scripture. It tells me that God will come to even those who need something to help them believe. At the same time it sends me out to be God's eyes, ears, and hands to a hurting world.
