Well, with the trade down in the second round and getting another second rounder next year, it's hard to complain too much. I'd have preferred getting him in the third round, but not a bad gamble.

Heard that Rosen may have turned a new leaf these last few weeks in Arizona. Enough so that Fitzgerald praised him and told him that he will be alright if he keeps on doing what he is doing. Nice to see that he is beginning to understand that he will have to put in the work and earn it. Flores might be the perfect coach for Rosen right now.

Not as good a deal as I think they could've gotten, but not bad either. Grier had a chance to come out of this looking like a total bad-*** GM. Instead, not so much.

Since ditching RT17 the QB search has been on for Miami. They need to keep looking for QBs until they find the right one. A couple of picks for that chance is worth it. I'm not high on Rosen, but he's cheap with massive upside, and in the context of the Fins LOADING UP on picks next year, they haven't sold the farm for him. Their positioning to get whomever they like next year.

Can't fault them for kicking the tyres on a young, cheap QB.

Moan about the 5th rounder if you like, but considering the other players we often pick up and lose for a 5th, it's worth it while search for your franchise QB.

They had a strategy, they were executing that strategy ... and then just went off the rails and got ripped by a team that had no leverage.

If Rosen is good, we would have been better off spending picks this year instead of accumulating. If he's (still) bad, we would have better off just laughing at Arizona. A second and fifth arent massive, but also arent insignificant.

A flier would have been just the fifth imo.

Hope he proves the doubters wrong, but this felt awfully meh. If we wanted a QB should have just taken Haskins.

You make a good point about kicking the tires until we find our QB, Galant. I have been critical of Rosen as any but because of Flores I am warming up to the idea. I believe Flores can be the difference maker here. He has high standards and holds guys accountable but, he is also very supportive. I am hopeful that Rosen will respond in that environment.

Hyde has it right. “Keep trying at QB until you have one.” Who knows how Rosen will play out but glad to see they are trying. If he doesn’t work try again next season.

Personally I have a hard time picturing Rosen being any better than Tannehill. Not that Tannehill was great but it’s hard to be a slightly above average QB in the NFL.

I am very okay with this. Damn near ecstatic. I am really warming up to Flores and Grier. I think they had to do this. It just makes sense. If it works out and Rosen lights it up this year, great! If not, draft a QB next year.

FINALLY, it doesn’t seem like Miami is just teetering on boom or bust. They’re just doing their thing. I love it.

People form opinions about players and draft picks based on what they think in their own minds with input from other sources including their own eyes. Doesn't make any of it worth a damn. Even every GM has failed miserably and succeeded mightily in player acquisitions.
Every arm chair forum GM has done the same.
What we got is a shot at a franchise QB. We got him cheap financially and somewhat reasonably in draft pick compensation.
Were there any future hall of famers waiting there to be picked, when we traded that pick? Who knows?
    Maybe, maybe not.
So now we have a maybe, maybe not at QB.
    How is that worse?
What we got was another shot at finding that oh so important piece that we've struck out on 17 times since 1999.
No matter what you think might happen in the future, not one person here really knows anything at all for sure. Don't be so married to your opinions that you're angry about this in any way. You may be completely wrong!
This is the way we get where we want to go. Keep hacking until we hit that home run. We need that long ball worse than we need base hits.
Terrible analogy but you get what I mean.
I've got no opinion worth anything about any player, all I know is I got another little bit of reason to watch next season and some anonymous 2nd rounder wouldnt have given me that.
Take it for what it's worth....

One thing I noticed in some of the highlights: very solid in the pocket movement. It was actually refreshing. There is probably some bad tape out there, but I really like his footwork inside the pocket. He also has a little bit of gunslinger in him (good and bad). Some of those completions shouldn’t have been thrown.

Anyhow, I’m very cool with the trade and had secretly been hoping that it would happen ever since the Cards tipped their hand on Murray. I am becoming more and more confident in this staff (Grier included).

We haven't seen a QB maneuver the pocket since Cutler, lets hope he brings more than not getting sacked. I love what Grier is doing, I just hoped we could have strung AZ a little further down the line.

I know what's going to happen.

Kyler Murray flames out before the end of his rookie contract, retires, and attempts a baseball comeback. Kliff Kingsbury is fired after two miserable seasons attempting to make a college scheme work in the NFL.

Josh Rosen earns a Pro Bowl bid in the same season.

    Arizona enters meme purgatory.

Chris Grier and Brian Flores continue to build a winner in South Florida.

Josh Rosen goes on to earn numerous Pro Bowl ballots, an MVP award, and multiple Super Bowl rings as the franchise QB for the Miami Dolphins, who reign over the AFC East for the next decade.

For Miami, this trade is looked back on as a defining moment in their franchise's history

For Arizona, it's seen as the greatest blunder by a front office in NFL history.

... and you're damn right I'm buying a Rosen jersey.

  31. Absolutely. Easily worth the risk. Rosen is better than any QB in this draft. The little runtish, tiny armed thing drafted in Arizona will last about two years before baseball calls. Haskins will balloon up to Jamarcus Russel or Daunte Culpepper level girth. Aaron Jones is simply a goober that would be a 4th round project 15 years ago. Lock is a wild card, with a very high ceiling, god level arm talent, but also erratic and inconsistent.

Grier did great tonight. Got an upper-level talent, young QB, who should be hungry to prove Arizona made a mistake - who can also chill a bit behind the magical one for a few games.

Recouped a 2nd rounder next year.

Got two big, well-endowed studs on the lines.

Love this move. Anyone with a brain has to at least be excited about this move. It may not work, but neither may Haskins, Murray, Lock, or Jones. And next year? Tua's fat spam-eating *** will probably shatter a knee so we will be sucking for Fromm, hebert? Who cares, we deal with it when the time comes. I like Rosen's personality, and I like how he doesn't endear himself to the low-IQ, low-income socioeconomic classes.

Just for the mere fact that Omar will likely contact the Southern Poverty Law Center over this is worth any setbacks it causes. The inevitable anti-Semitic tweets are just around the corner from old cobb pipe.

For those of you who believe Rosen is Tannehill 2.0 be prepared to eat crow. Mark this down today Rosen will end being the Best QB in the AFC East behind Brady. It may take till 2020-2021 but it will happen.

Yeah what's important is that they're actually trying to find that franchise QB. Last time we did that was in 2012 with Tannehill, which was a LONG time ago. More importantly, they didn't mortgage the future to do so, and we have a ton of picks in 2020 to try and get that franchise QB if Rosen fails. Another thing about Rosen is that he's a good test case to see how good this coaching staff is in developing players. Rosen doesn't yet process info at NFL speed but there's no reason yet to think he can't learn. If the coaching staff develops him into a franchise QB, that bodes real well for us and not just at the QB position.

If Rosen bombs and we end up with the 1st pick in next years draft than we can simply draft a QB 1st overall. If Rosen does well than we have 13 picks next year to improve our team along with 100+ million car space. Either or I'm pretty happy with.

The long-term $ saved makes too much sense, regardless of whether he starts or not. If he’s a backup, he’d be a viable option for a few years making significantly less than an average backup. If he starts and does well, big win.

If I’m getting this right: Miami trades with the Saints to a very late 2nd (basically an early 3rd) for a 2nd next year? And that late 2nd from the trade, along with a 5th rounder next year for Rosen?

IF Rosen doesn’t pan out, Miami has a ton of firepower to do damage next year to get their QB.

Here’s the thing; regardless if you like Rosen or not, you really want him to do well because it could shape drafts for years to come the way 2020 is looking. They could parlay some picks next year into some 2021 picks. Rosen really needs to light it up. The franchise needs it.

Well... Given this organizations track record spending second round picks on QB's , what could possibly go wrong???.

Certainly can't do any worse. Even with Jay F.N. Cutlers baby brother being the next in line.

Hate everything about the idea, don't think Rosen will ever be better than anyone since our last #3, but for 2 mill a year, a deferred 2nd and a next year fifth? That's house money you are gambling with.

I love the talent, let’s hope the humbling inspires him to want to be coached and work harder than anyone else.

He may of been coddled his whole life up until now, now it’s time to be a man..I like how he’s been treated like sh## this offseason, just because I think he needed to be humbled.
