UDFA's So Far: OL Deion Calhoun (G) Aaron Monteiro (T) Ryan Anderson (Varies - C?) DL Jon Ledbetter (DE) Secondary Nik Needham (CB) Montre Hartage (CB) Tyler Horton (CB) Terrill Hanks (LB) Tre Watson (LB) WR Trenton Irwin (WR) Preston Williams (WR) ST Wes Farnsworth (LS)
Hanks went undrafted?! He could have gone as early as the 3rd. Not sure why he fell, but that's a promising pickup.

I noticed the analysts were calling Asiata the starter at left guard during the NFL draft....was anything ever said by the Fins there? I know he sat year one since he struggled to learn the playbook and last year he was practice squad, but that doesn't make him a guaranteed starter. I was high on him coming out of the draft and it would be great if he's ready to help Tunsil lock down the left side....but if that's true then why didn't they call him up last season? I think the announcers just goofed up to be honest....but I'd be pleasantly surprised if he's a starter.
Running back is a position that gets passed over a lot in the draft. For that reason alone it never shocks me to see some promising backs go undrafted or in the late rounds.
I was kinda thinking the same thing. I would figure that most of these UDFAs and their agents woulda had a plan for being undrafted and would have scoured over team depth charts looking at teams with obvious holes. In my mind, OL and DEs should be begging the Dolphins for a contract because they have a really strong chance at making the 53. I looked at all the DBs that we brought in, and I keep thinking, "How are these guys gonna crack the 53?" Howard - lock Minkah - lock Jones - lock (unless they can trade him) TJ - lock McCain - lock Rowe - lock Tank - highly likely Aikens - highly likely
The Phins will probably pick up more linemen in round two of free agency. There's four rosters spots remaining.
I like what Bokamper said on the Audible. We don’t need guys to MAKE the team, we need guys to HELP the team. I think we have some of those guys this year.
University of Miami quarterback Malik Rosier went undrafted, but that doesn’t mean his career is over. The Dolphins invited Rosier to attend their rookie minicamp this weekend, and he has accepted, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports. Rosier was a two-year starter at UM, completing 53.3 percent of his passes for 4,543 yards with 34 touchdowns and 25 interceptions. He also ran for 831 yards and 12 touchdowns.
It's interesting that if you were to stack up all the acquisitions the Dolphins have made this off season, two of what I believe will be the top five acquisitions (Jayrone Elliott and Preston Williams) come from the most humble of channels (AAF and UDFA, respectively), and cost virtually nothing. And based on the way Jomal Wiltz apparently balled out today in front of media, maybe he's a third.
The better part of two seasons on the Pats practice squad maybe gave him a jump start on knowing the defense.
