I was joking, but it was entertaining if you threw everything else out the window and took it on face value. IMO, the most interesting character was Ed Nygma and his Dexter meets Walter White~ish evolution.

Other than that, you tire of most of the overly cliche characters pretty quickly and wonder when Jim Gordon became John McClane.

    - Lot of original characters from Batman between the 40s and 70s.
    - Jim Gordon... 'murican badazz mimicking Die Hard McClane in overcoming beatings and escaping death.
    - Alfred Pennyworth... 'Anglo badazz... pugilist. Street fighter. Lol...
    - Fish Mooney... most annoying badazz.
    - While Joker was never in this pre-Batman series, they went out of their way to skirt him with "Jerome" acting like him and "Jeri" donning the makeup.
    - Deadpool's girlfriend was in this before her plastic surgeries to fix her nose n chin and to give her boobs.
    - PeeWee Herman as Penguins' Father was amusing.
    - Series was mindless tv fodder.

I gave up after Jim Gordon
    straight up murdered a guy.

That was it. I couldn't stomach the show anymore.

This is one of those things where you have to step back and ask who thought that this was a good idea. Someone with influence must really want to make this happen and think that its going to make money, because they have to be aware that a lot of people are going to either laugh at it or be horrified.

yeah, that was my thought too. first 3rd was not well done, but if you keep it in context that it's suppposed to be cheesy and funny, then you come out of it feeling good. will probably watch it again with my family soon

Little late, but just watched Spiderman : Into the Spider-Verse

Visually? Best movie I've ever seen. Overall? Greatness.

    Blown away.

EDIT: Went back and read Dupree's comments....spot on.

    Watched Aquaman.

Jason Momoa was born to play....

    Lobo.

    Not Aquaman.

Aquaman is an actual badass.....but not the wild and crazy kind of badass that Momoa did. The kind of angry badass that cuts off his own hand to save his kid and replaces it with a ****ing harpoon, because **** you, that's why.

Amber Heard is flat out awful. Awful. In fact, in a battle of what was worse, the writing or her acting, the winner is.....no one. We all lose.

Ha! Unlike Marvel, I have absolutely nothing invested in DC and their movies, so I just wanted a fun, mindless ride, and that's what Aquaman was for me. I may or may not ever watch it again, and I don't need to make a point to remember everything that happened, unlike the MCU movies. Junk food, basically.

If the whole DC experiment fails, it would be interesting to see Momoa in the MCU.

agreed. saw it yesterday morning. yet another comic book movie with potential ruined by Sony. WHen TOm Hardy comes across badly, means the writing is not very good

Honestly, I don't understand this. Things can be mindless fun and still be good. Back to the Futures, Indiana Jones I-III, Mummy I & II, Guardians of the Galaxy I & II, Goonies, etc. all mindless fun but still good. Aquaman was mindless and awful.

I appreciate the world building it did. But there was nothing else good about that movie.

Oh, cmon. Aquaman was not any less good than some of those. Back to the Future 2 and 3, Mummy 2, Indiana Jones 3? none of those were any better.

I was too. I did like it as a kid. But as I got older, the appeal really wore off. By the time Last Crusade was in cinemas, Raiders was my favorite movie of all time but I didnt care much for Temple one way or the other.

My first mega crush was Olivia Newton John in Xanadu. Had no clue what the film was even about, other than Olivia roller skating like an angel and my 8 year old self having to watch it every time it aired bc of her.

While not a movie, but just as embarrassing. Carmen Elektra, when she came on the scene as a rapper, with her hit song Go Go Dancer.

Ice Pirates is such a classic. Somehow, my wife had never seen it, so I bought it on DVD and introduced her to it a few years ago. The Adventure Comedy was absolutely my favorite genre growing up, and I'm so glad that its started to find its way back courtesy of Marvel.

A lot of it went over my head as a kid in the 80s. But it was still a lot of fun. Now, its a great movie to watch while having a few beers.

1984. Robert Ulrich, Ron Pearlman, Angelica Houston, and a bunch of other people you probably recognize. Zany and fun, but not pure comedy like Space Balls. More akin to Thor Ragnarok in its tone.
