word is Kyrie has decided on Brooklyn. Hopefully he brings along Durant. Caris Levert is friends with Durant also so he might like the scenario. Although, the way the Warriors are playing without him is proving his value and I could see him staying if he comes back in the series and delivers another championship to golden state. No one would ever question his legacy again.

The nets are also one of four teams that are in the hunt for AD.

Could be a very interesting two months coming up

From what I’ve read it’s not Kyrie that’s decided on Brooklyn, it’s that his circle wants him to consider Brooklyn but thus far it hasn’t really happened. The Levert angle you mentioned is interesting as that’s one of the reasons the Knicks hung on to Deandre Jordan thru the trade deadline and Allonzo Treir considers KD a big brother (his words not mine). Agreed, it’ll be an interesting couple of months.

I've learned after the Tavares fiasco to not believe anything until it actually happens when it comes to free agency. But it does seem something is in the works in Brooklyn. I think Durant is a long shot for us (knicks probably) but I could see Kyrie coming. He grew up in Jersey and was actually a Nets fan as a kid. We'll see

From what i know he was actually a knicks fan as a kid. He was supposed to be a knick as far back as 2013 I believe it was when he was going to be a free agent until he signed his extension when he found out Lebron was coming back. That much has been validated.

The warriors may finally be taken down. Lebron did it and just made them stronger. The raptors have some unbearable fans, but this is good for the league.

He can try. It’d be fantastic if he came back, played well and still lost.

Id say if the warriors had homecourt advantage this series and were down 3-1, theyd have a chance... but i dont think they can win two in toronto..

Yeah I don’t care what is more impressive, I just want that band broken up.

It would seem like Kawhi would be insane to leave after winning a championship, but how can anyone hate on the guy for leaving if he just gave the city it’s first ring?

Could Memphis try and extort the Knicks out of anything for R.J. Barrett?

You think the knicks would pull a trubisky and trade up one spot?

I’d call their bluff and take Morant if they really took RJ at 2.

Surprised that Luguentz Dort doesn't have more of a following.

I love an attacking guard like him. Great wing span and speed, knows how to use them to get through traffic and attack the rim. He's 6'3" (without shoes) with a 6'9" wing span. Strong all-around Combine performance with a 38" max vertical.

He gets to the free throw line a lot because he's so good at attacking the basket. I love that. Averages 7 FTAs per 36 min. He was only a freshman this year but he averaged 18.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per 36 minutes. He attacks the rim so well, it shows up in his offensive rebound numbers, where he averages 1.5 per 36 minutes as a guard.

Not unlike Mitchell, his shooting percentages weren't great in his freshman year at Arizona State. But he's got a decent free throw percentage and a nice, compact stroke.

Can play suffocating defense at times, but was inconsistent that way. Heat are good at taking players like that and making them consistent.

Seems to have a good IQ on the court which is something I love seeing.

Watch his game against Washington. He's an excellent guard prospect that is being forgotten about because his freshman shooting percentages at mid range and 3-point range were unexciting.

Rather have him than Kevin Porter, who looks broken to me.

I've definitely warmed up to Sekou Doumbouya the last few weeks. Pretty good combination of frame and ball handling skills on a natural shooter. What more could you want?

He had a great pro day workout in front of teams. Miami were present. They wanted him on a private workout but he had a scheduling conflict. Not sure they could get him at 13 anyway.

They could try but then they run the risk of having a player that doesnt want to be there at all and refuses to even meet with them. While the player may be powerless for a few years long term its prob not a great idea. If im the knicks id consider moving up a spot for a 2 just to secure a team like LAL, ATL or someone else jumping over me for RJ. That i could see as feasible.

Dort is interesting in as much as he seems like an ideal 6th man. Hes a bit undersized as a 2 but he cam score in bunches and when hes playing defense doesnt hurt you. Hes really a tweener who is best paired with a player who can be a primary ball handler. I do like his potential to be a rotation player though. If the NYK had their own 2 instead of the 2nd in the 50s id be ok with him there as 25-35 is really his range

Apparently its NYK or LAL for AD: http://bleacherreport.com/post/nba-rumors/6cdbd5e7-b687-4942-a63f-a5c257cd59ba

My thoughts: i would not include RJ Barrett in said deal if hes there at 3. I think hes got a chance to be special. Id prefer not to include Ntilikina but mathematically i think hes got to be included unless New Orleans is willing to take back Noahs stretch provision (not sure). Id rather include an extra 1st from dallas.

He's the guy I wanted the Nets to draft before we traded our pick. One of the few players post top five who has a legitimate chance at stardom in this weak draft. If the Heat land him you had a great draft. My gut tells me he goes top ten though

This trade might require several teams. Apparently new Orleans is asking for an all star, a young player with all star potential and two first rounders........for a one year rental! The Nets looked into it but I don't think we're going after him unless the price comes down. We have made it known our foundation players (Allen, Levert) are not up for discussion. Honestly I think the Clippers and Celtics have the most to offer

I think LA gets him in the end. There has to be some appeal to getting Zion and RJ (I can't imagine the Knicks get it done without including #3), but I think the Lakers have more to offer if Pelinka can pull his head out of his ***.

One thing is for sure. This is probably going to be a really fun offseason that shakes up the NBA. Hopefully the Heat can get involved without doing something stupid like trading for CP3.

If it costs me pick 3 and a bunch of other picks/low cost players ill take the lesson learned from the mistake of trading a bunch of young players and picks for melo.

Nick Nurse timeout reminds me of our old pal Philbin against Green Bay.

I get why Nurse called the timeout but the Raptors were on fire and were about to blow the roof of the arena.

So KD's injury is an achilles. It probably won't impact his free agency, but that's a gamble for a team looking to pay him a mint.

If it were up to me, it would depend on how confident you are that you could get stars if he goes to LA. If you feel confident about landing a couple other max guys, I'd hold off. If missing out on AD means whiffing on all of the big stars, it would be really hard to deny them that pick. And I really like RJ. I still think he could easily end up as the best player in this draft.

If they did something like this it needs to be after youve signed 2 stars in FA or else you run the risk of being the NY Pelicans if no one joins AD and then he walks. And its the knicks so dolan always messes up something. Slow rebuild via the draft subsidized by 2 max worthy guys please. Stay away from trading 4-6 assets for 1 player with 1 year left and a bunch of other whack contracts.

The KD injury shows you that nothing is certain. AD is certain he wants to play in LA in 2020? Not if a 35 year old Lebron has a devastating injury! Toronto is doing just fine with a 1 year rental.

AD is a generational talent. Teams know this. We’ll get quite a haul from somebody. I like Griffin’s demands and have confidence he’ll make the right decision. This new Pelicans front office has impressed me with every move they’ve made.

And even if they screw it all up royally, we’re still getting ZION!

Apparently the market for KD hasn't changed a bit. Even though there is a good chance he will redshirt next year all the teams interested are going to pursue him just as hard as before the injury.

It never was going to change. Look at the teams hes being linked to...aside from GSW and maybe the Clippers and Nets there all desperate for different reasons. The knicks for obvious reasons, LAL because Lebron has a timeline, etc

We're like one week away at this point, right? Some thoughts:
    • Zion Williamson, Ja Morant, and R.J. Barrett are spoken for.
    • I think the Heat should be pursuing the bigs like Brandon Clarke, Sekou Doumbouya, Rui Hachimura, or P.J. Washington.
    • You might prioritize Jarrett Culver above all four of them. Certainly three of the four.
    • I'd be comfortable NOT prioritizing Darius Garland, Cam Reddish, DeAndre Hunter, or Coby White over the four targets.
The worst-case scenario would be if all 12 of those players go before pick #13 overall. At that point could consider a number of players, grouped by position:
    • You have a significant group of fives led by Jaxson Hayes, Goga Bitadze, and Bol Bol.
    • You have a group of forwards to consider, led by Luka Samanic, Mfiondu Kabengele, Isaiah Roby, and Bruno Fernando.
    • Some of wings start getting back into the frame, led by Nassir Little, Keldon Johnson, Dylan Windler, and Cameron Johnson.
    • The *only* guard that I would consider would be Luguentz Dort.
    • It follows that the guys you'd have to consider most would be Nassir Little, Luka Samanic, Luguentz Dort, and Jaxson Hayes.
    Just my two cents.

Morey just brought in another player with a non-guaranteed contract. That makes 5 of those on our roster ($8+ mil worth). He did the exact same thing just before trading for Chris Paul to make salaries work for the trade.

Something is about to go down..soon.
