Cool stuff. My kids were raised on classic rock. When they were very young they called The Immigrant Song "The Ahhh-Ah song". Lol... I used to get home from work around 7:30pm and they'd crawl to me waiting for me to turn on the stereo so we could jam and they'd dance. My youngest is now 17 and currently a walking encyclopedia on Pink Floyd and plays various guitar rifts of their's almost daily. The look of disdain or open disgust on her face when some other kid either doesn't know who they are, or worst, tries to argue with her about them or some other 70s rock band or songs, is priceless. She's been offered a music scholarship to USM to sing with their choir. She doesn't want to sing tho, only play guitar. SMH. Another of my daughters is a Johnny Cash fanatic. Music, tshirts, posters. Her favorite tshirt: Spoiler
My fourth child finished HS last month and I turn 50 next month. My Dad was 27 when he had me in 1969, and I was 27 when my son was born. My oldest daughter graduates AF BMT the weekend of 50th Birthday next month. She'll be joining my son in the USAF.
Could make a nice rug or wall hanging over the fireplace. Davy Crockett "kilt a bar" when he was only 3. You're behind the times. Lol... I have deer that come into my back yard and eat my damn blueberries off the bushes. I have to scare them and the crows off. They killed my muscadine vines a few years ago. I also have a fox that lives on the back acre next to the lake. I sometimes throw leftover food out for him. He's pretty cool to have around.
We have tons of deer, and of course the usual small animals like squirrels, possums, raccoons, ect. But the bear was a first.
Right. Have all those too. You should see the look on my face when I get up in the mornings and damned armadillo has been rooting up my yard after bugs and worms. I plot sitting out in the dark with my compound bow like Rambo waiting to kill those lil bastids.
Raising them right! It doesn't get any better than Pink Floyd, Cash, and Zeppelin. About a year ago I played Cash's cover of "Hurt" for my girls...My then 5 year old shed tears...That littler girl has a heart of gold and feels like no one I've ever met, but that's the only song to date that she's ever "felt". She's a keeper.
LOL, I'd never thought of them as pests until a friend of mine moved to Texas and said the same thing.
I’m all about raising my daughter to love The Doors, Pink Floyd and all classic rock / grunge. My only concern would be the LSD associated with some of that music
You resisted buying a grill because you thought you were special because you have a gas oven and cast iron pans/pots.. That moment when you purchase a Weber charcoal kettle grill, fall in love and think your a grill master because you now grill 3 times a week and develop an obsession with it.
That moment when an ex-girlfriend keeps posting very questionable parenting memes on social media, and you're glad that things didn't work out! Yikes, she and I couldn't be more different in how we handle our respective kids, apparently.
That moment when your wife smacks you upside the head for having your ex-girlfriend as a friend on social media.
LOL, nah. My wife and I have been together for 15 years, we're cool about it. I'm online friends with three women I dated briefly before she and I met. I've had zero contact with the one girl I had a long relationship before I met my wife since that one dumped me 17 years ago. On the flip side, my wife is online friends with a guy she dated for years before we met, and I'm totally secure and cool with it.
That moment when you realize that you're about the same age as your grandparents were when your parents got married! That one....felt really weird when it hit me earlier, let me tell ya, lol. And here I am, playing video games and preparing for my daughter's seventh birthday party. Different times!
