You should pay your money to support the guys on the field who are paying their asses off. It's not their fault if the roster is gutted or they really should not be starting.

Tannehill was atrocious on 3rd and long. Without doing any fancy statistical analysis, just compare 3rd and 10+ for Tannehill to league average. From 2012-2018 Tannehill had 267 total attempts at 3rd and 10+ so it's decent sample size. Here are the comparisons:

League average rating 3rd and 10+
    2012: 77.0
    2013: 73.4
    2014: 75.6
    2015: 77.8
    2016: 77.6
    2018: 74.5

Tannehill rating 3rd and 10+ (attempts in parenthesis)
    2012: 57.0 (47)
    2013: 36.2 (52)
    2014: 48.3 (48)
    2015: 73.3 (62)
    2016: 43.1 (32)
    2018: 43.3 (26)

Weighting by passing attempts Tannehill was on average 23.9 passer rating points below league average on 3rd and 10+. Really bad.

Thanks to your last Lombardi candidate in Joe Philbin, yes. He's the one who told that backup QB to sit in the pocket and never run behind the league's worst offensive line. The funny thing is that you gave these same speeches back then- how the culture would be great and we'd be an amazing team because of it.

On the other hand, I spent those three years arguing that Moore should have started and RT should have developed from the bench as we solidified the offensive line. So where all these Tannehill attacks aimed at me are coming from is a mystery...but it was definitely your candidates that derailed the guy's career. Rookies don't develop being brutalized by 10+ crushing hits per game.

Res, watching Tannehill in third down for 6 years tells you everything you need about him as a Qb..I’m willing to bet the numbers have him below average relative to the competition..

If you are saying you can’t evaluate a Qb because of poor surrounding variables you would be mistaken imo..You can most def.

I agree, Im willing to pay because im as excited about this regime change as I was Saban at the time, and that’s what I do as a fan, I dont bail because past regimes failed..I give them a clean slate, grown man here and can take any consequences, and funds.

There is a difference though between treating them badly and not being super comfortable in front of the media - you can see that Flores is not that comfortable. Personally, if he produces a decent team & results, I couldn't give a stuff if he's not wisecracking with the press

I understand that cbrad. My disputing was in regards to a specific comment made that Tannehill was awful on 3rd down. I merely pointed out you need to look at 3rd and long, not simply overall 3rd down numbers.

Thats not common sense at all.

Common sense is that it IS an unideal situation for any QB to be in. Thinking no QB could've played better in those spots is certainly JUST an opinion.

that’s flat out false information..I was out on Philbin after Hard Knocks..

“true story..dansby gets up out of his seat, dansby seeks out Philbin for a test of manhood, Dansby who prides himself on very simple but important morals, goes to shake Philbins hand, and literally dead on, looks right at him so he can see if Philbin has the courage to look at a man from a troubled upbringing right in the eye.....Philbin didn't give him the time a day, got up from his seat, saw Dansby coming at him, reached his hand out, and completely looked the other way while shaking his hands”

That was written after hard knocks..

Maybe you are confusing Philbin with Dan Campbell, who I lobbied for but never insinuated Lombardi..

Please do not speak about what I said unless you are sure.

The reason why I believe in Flores and see some great traits as a head coach is because I believe players what to be led, I believe players want discipline, I believe players, for the most part need and want to be motivated by someone or something other then themselves..

Gase believed all players should come equipped Intrinsically.

That’s why he failed and will continue to fail, eventually, and that’s why Flores will not.

I think a great tell of Flores leadership will be watching closely how a Preston Williams develops..

Imo Flores is exactly what this talented player needs, should be interesting.

After you sang his praises for months like you're doing with Flores now...and every other coach we've signed in the past decade.

“I knew it was you, Fredo”....

    not the truth..

For the record, and I can prove it, the last three coaches I lobbied for were Mike Tomlin, Mike Zimmer, and Dan Campbell, gave Gase a chance but bounced on him after training camp last year.

Also not just want to be led but in most situations need to be led - this & the requirement for discipline is why good teams continue to be good and bad teams continue to be bad, if you don't have either, you have only chaos (also we have seen good team lose these values and plummet into chaos).
Will Flores succeed, no idea but early signs are promising that the players are buying into his philosophy, which can only be good for the Phins

My eyes have glazed over. I cannot see. Please! Someone let me know when the topic has moved away from Tannehill.
