Tyler Herro’s deep shooting is intriguing because of how quick he is and his aggressiveness with where he will shoot from but he’s also 11 of 30 in Summer League which is virtually identical to his college three point shooting.

Kendrick Nunn has also been aggressive in his shooting and he’s 10 of 21.

I think Herro needs to show that he can be more than just streaky as a three point shooter. There have been some easy catch and shoot situations, he should be draining those like it’s practice.

Presti offered Russell Westbrooke AND Paul George (together in a package) for Pascal and the Raptors said no... goes to show you that teams arent crazy abouut absorbing salaries like Westbrook. Obviously the raptors would have had to add picks and other salaries but they still werent interested, even if it meant keeping Kawhi.

Who’s even a close 3rd to the Clippers and Lakers??

It’s a drop off a cliff barring injury.

If Miami picks up Westbrook I'll be the happiest man in Miami. Always have loved his game he reminds me of a reckless version of Wade with the heart of a champion. My favorite player in my the NBA. Make it happen Riles. Buy low and Miami will be playing in the ECF this year. I don't care if you have to trade Bam, Winslow and Dragic.. just do it.

I disagree that Cousins is low IQ on the court. He’s just a hothead who turned down $40 million from the Pelicans.

I'll be interested to see how much he's valued. They may be at the point of just wanting to unload his contract. If that's the case, Miami could do that for them, as well as throwing in one or two of their young players. I'd be hesitant for Miami to completely gut their young talent, but it would be fun if they added him. Jimmy and Russ would lead one of the angriest teams in the league.

Houston is still a really good team, and I'm really interested to see what the Jazz do. Both the Lakers and Clippers are good, but not super well-rounded.

Yea? The moves they are making are at least manageable in regards to role players. IF they stay healthy I see an epic battle with the Clipp's.

Portland and Denver. Denver still has an improving young roster. Portland has added some nice pieces this offseason with trading Turner for Kent Bazemore to at least give them a useable player. They added Little, have Anfernee Simons from last year along with Gary Trent Jr that they can develop. A full year of Rodney Hood, Whiteside and another year of improvement from Zach Collins can’t hurt. They’re deep, they have 3 legit all stars with Nurkic, Lillaird and McCollum, an dthey can space the floor.

Would Miami still have a 3rd max slot in 2021 if we trade for Westbrook?

I’m not as high on him as I used to be...but damn would we be wayyy more entertaining to watch.

    Don’t give up Herro.

Agreed. It feels a lot like the Butler thing. OKC has to be looking to start over, and if Russ wants to be in Miami (which I'd guess he would), then it should happen. I'm just hoping Miami doesn't have to give up a ton. There's some talk that they can do it without giving up any of the kids. I don't think I can see that happening. If they have to give up Justise, I'd accept that.

Just speculating but I think Westbrook has more interest to join Miami than Riley has interest in him... facts are Oklahoma would gut us of every young talent we have - Winslow, Herro, and Bam, just to trade Westbrook here and they would want more picks on top of it. Presti is not gonna let go of a MVP for cap spaxe, hes gonna try to maximize what he gets just like he did with PG.

I play it safe..and there’s still that big 40-47 million dollar hurdle that westbrook brings with him.

i think we may have something in Herro, i think we got something in Bam... id still go after Beal, perhaps get Beal to tell the Wizards hes not resigning after 2021?

Witth that said, Westbrook screams Heat culture. His work ethic and conditioning is off the charts..

Buddy you give up the entire farm to pretty much guarantee ECF for three years. The East is in a weakened state. Even with that Miami is a bottom playoff seed as currently constructed. Winslow has been good but no better than say a Billy Owens type. Bam would be painful to move on from but he's an expendible asset much like an Ike Austin or Kevin Willis. Pat Riley has a long history of moving on from guys like Bam and Winslow to go for the home run hitters. He did it with Glen Rice, he did it to get Shaq and he did it in FA to snag Bosh and Lebron. Riley is a winner and he knows that star power wins in the NBA. Not role players. This may be his last chance to be relevant in the NBA and the best part about it is that off-season literally has developed out of nowhere. Opportunistic Riley will strikes and we'll all love him for it.

I also don't get all this excitement over Herro. He hasn't played a regular season game, wasn't a top 10 pick and will probably be pedestrian. Not just here but all over the Heat boards on the internet. To cling on to a rookie when you can snag an MVP two years removed makes no sense. Winning the MVP award in the NBA is almost an impossible feat. The odds of Herro or Winslow becoming league MVP or even All Stars are very low. Move them + Waiters / Dragic and a few draft picks. Not sure if the cap numbers work buy that's where I would start.

Also note that Herro has NOT been signed. Could be moved in a trade immediately without the 30 day wait period.

Where the **** is Section when you need him?

Westbrook replacing Wade is like Andrew Luck replacing Manning.... Makes me giddy to think about.

Guaranteed ECf? The 76ers and the Bucks are still in the East. The Celtics should not be written off, theyre a deep team and Stevens had tthat team playing great without Kyrie.

Weatbrook hasnt seen the second round ever since Durant left.. Even with Paul George..

I don’t like the 76ers. As Zach Lowe said today their plan at the end of games was to put the ball into the hands of Jimmy Butler and hope to god that he did something. That’s out the window.

Tyler Herro is the guy everyone is talking about but Kendrick Nunn has been nothing short of phenomenal in Summer League. He's got crazy ball skills and is knocking down his three ball the way everyone thinks Tyler Herro may eventually be able to do. He was a consistent 39% three point shooter in college, shot that percentage in 3 of his 4 years, shooting 12 of 30 for the Heat in Summer League. He's athletic, too. Can pass the ball. Every now and then he plays a little selfish but that ends up fine because of his pure ability to create.

We're going nuts about Tyler Herro for giving about 75% of what Kendrick Nunn is giving us right now.

Westbrook plays in a hell of a more competitive conference. Its really apples to oranges in terms of how far we could get with Westbrook/Butler in this conference.

I agree there are still other challenges like the teams you mentioned, but we wouldnt be far behind if behind at all.

No offense to Tyler Herro, but it's hard to watch this knowing how obviously good Brandon Clarke was, and how easily within our grasp he was.

Dude played only 17 minutes and got 17 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks. He was 1 of 1 from the three point line, 2 of 2 from the free throw line, and a ridiculous +23 in his 17 minutes.

We *will* regret passing on him. I promise.

I'm a little vexed that Tyler Herro is shooting only 32% on threes in the Summer League, on high volume, considering this above all else is what he's supposed to be. At least in 2019-20, this is what he's supposed to be.

Can't be J.J. Redick if you're not shooting like J.J. Redick. I'm as intrigued with the total package, with his quick release, aggressiveness, ability to sink deep baskets, and get on a hot streak, as anybody. But the shots DO need to fall. You can't forget that part of it because it's...uhh...kind of important.

As a Knicks fan I just don’t see what R. Westbrook brings to NY other than some entertainment.

Being relevant enough to be a playoff team and be in Cap hell just isn’t worth it.

It isn’t worth it for NY to offload assets and moves they would to take on that salary for frankly a guy who isn’t a winner
