Mods if you need to move this do so. I didn't know where to put this and was so F'NING EXCITED. I have to do an audit in Tampa Bay and worked out so that I can be at a game IN Miami. IN MIAMI!!!! I'm a LONG suffering Dolphin fan, seeing my 1st game in 1971 at Mile High Stadium. Being on the Left Coast I've seen many, many games all over the west. But now I have a chance to see a HOME game. My pilgrimage to Dolphin "Mecca". Any help would be appreciated. Where to sit. Where to tailgate. What time to get to the game. A line on tickets. Anything you think would help. Thanks.
Have fun man! I have a really good feeling about that game. The Chargers always struggle coming to Miami, especially for 1pm games. The Fins are 7-0 at home vs them since losing in the 82 playoffs, and scored at least 30 points in four of those games.
I assume that's 'finning excited' - you can write that in full. Can't hep with Miami. I'm over the pond. Really hope you enjoy it - and Miami get the win!
Depending on your preference, I see there are seats near the 50 in the upper deck for about $80. Having sat in both spots, the ones on the 50 are my preference.
Yeah, I used to work games there for my high school in the 90's so I've literally sat all over the stadium (we'd work the 1st half, then watch games in the best empty seats we could find for the 2nd half). We also went to dozens of games as paying customers before/after that as well. The club level end-zone seats would be fine but you really want to be somewhere within the 30's on either side of the stadium. Club is best but the upper/lower deck is fine as well....I'd aim to be as close to the 50 as possible. As far as where to stay, it really doesn't matter.....anything in Ft Lauderdale or Miami works. You'll want to catch an Uber to the game though because traffic is horrible, another option is a party bus so you can drink on the way. Or, if you're up for an adventure, the horse track is right next store to the stadium so you could always hitch a ride there 1st and take in a few races before the game. I'd recommend taking in Dania Jai Alai (or Miami Jai Alai, depending on where you stay) if you have a free evening....fun sport to watch/bet on that you won't see anywhere else in the USA. The Hard Rock in Hollywood is good for a walk-thru as well, I wouldn't stay there though. The only thing you DON'T want to do is take your rental car to the game. You'll spend 30-60 minutes in traffic both ways, pay a bunch to park and it's just not as fun...don't do it! Also, I wouldn't eat before the game either- hit up one of the paid tailgate parties or enjoy the street vendors!
I'm considering coming to Miami from England for the Jets home game. Hotel prices are making me slightly weary at the moment. What's the weather normally like come November? I can't imagine it can be any worse than our constant rain.
Rain in November is unpredictable. That's towards the end of hurricane season so, there shouldn't be a problem unless there is a tropical system off the coast. Temperatures will be warm. As someone already mentioned, you would prefer to be on the home team side of the field depending on how high you are in the stands. As far as hotels, there is an excellent train service from Miami airport all the way to the Palm Beach area which should open up a lot of possibilities. Tri-rail runs pretty much along side of the 95. The station most convenient to the stadium is Golden Glades. Weekend schedules are different from weekday so, check the internet. From there you can catch a bus, Uber or Taxi. You can also check on Craigslist under "Vacation Rentals" if you plan to spend a week or two. Lots of places available near the beach.
That's interesting to know about the trains. When I was down there last in 2007, the public transportation options to the stadium were basically zero. I was even warned about it. I rented a car for the four days that we were there and didn't have any problems.
Thanks so much. This info was so helpful. Were staying in South Beach on Saturday night. Had to do it. Sunday night were at the Airport hotel as I have an early flight out on Monday morning. Going to get an early check in and leave the luggage. Was going to take the rental car but the party bus sound like a better option. If anyone has some info on the party bus that would be awesome. I did an internet check and it just comes up with limo rentals or buses with poles (sound like fun with the right girls on board).
Train may be an option since were dropping the car at the airport early. Thanks I'll check into it. Does the board ever have a tailgate get together? That would be cool to meet some of the posters.
I did a quick search and didn't see any familiar companies- but it's been 15+ years since I went to a game down there. Honestly the best place would be ads in the Miami Herald or Sun Sentinel newspapers (that's where I always saw them)...maybe a local can help out here? Help a brother get a ride and a tequila on the way to a game!
buy a poncho/raincoat for around $3 bucks at any convenience store. keep it in your pocket. Went to the Dal/Mia game 4 years ago in November. the only time it rained(poured) on us while visiting was 30 mins prior to the kick off through the 1st quarter. After that it was around 90 degrees. that poncho came in handy best $3 spent
I went in December two times and it was 95+ both times. I didn't care if it rained it was actually much appreciated.
I bought tickets in Section 343, 1st row. My son is flying in for the weekend to go to the game too. Staying in South Beach. Now I just have to find a tailgate when we get to the stadium. I can't wait!!!!!
