    SO Cal
It reminds me of what the Patriots would do. Sign a guy with a lot of potential but has struggled. Lots of potential upside with very low downside risk.

I would have said towards the end of pre-season, but yeah. His odds seem long to actually make the team if he's gained weight and he's out of shape (coming off an ACL, nonetheless).

We need offensive line guys. So they may take more time with him IMO. Maybe being released will finally "turn the light on" for him. It's happened with other guys. Then again, sometimes a duck is a duck.

Are we going to switch him to O-line? We did it with that dude from Brazil.

I think what the team is doing is grabbing former coveted players and giving them a try-out...and it's really a smart move. If they develop then it's a huge win, if they don't then it really didn't cost us anything. This season alone we've hit on multiple free agents, undrafted rookies, arena league guys, etc. and I hope they keep rolling the dice in these types of situations.

Why not let someone suit up and prove their worth in training camp? There's literally nothing to lose.
