I guess the LT they traded to us is a dud, but does anyone know anything about Bademosi?

The more I thought about this trade, the more I absolutely love it. We have six picks in the first three rounds next season- that's six potential starters including the #1 overall selection. That's like 2/3 of an offense folks...and we don't need receivers so we may as well call it a full offensive overhaul. And if the Texans struggle, maybe we're picking 1st and 10th overall. Or 2nd and 14th....it really doesn't matter with that many early picks. There's also 6 later round picks to fill in depth.

My biggest problem with this so far is Tank for Tua....what if he doesn't declare in 2020? Well, we have 5 picks in the first 3 rounds in 2021 as well to fill in gaps on the defense or trade up for #1 overall (if we don't have it naturally). Our entire roster is getting overhauled with youth and besides Father Time himself (John Denny), we're going to EASILY have the youngest roster in the league. If we pick well, we'll have this same nucleus of a team together for the next 6-10 years and that's exactly how you build a dynasty.

To have that potential, we had to lose one player- a Pro-Bowl lineman. There's no question we made the right move here and I am definitely all-in on the strategy. The only question left is can these guys actually coach a football game? If so, we're going to be really freaking good, really freaking quick. 2021 or 2022 is a Super Bowl year folks!

    If you've
If you've read my posts over the years, you know I agree with that. But we haven't had an average line in over 10 years. Get me a QB who is a game changer and who can still be somewhat effective without studs on the line. When you have him, get him average protection.

And I'm not wrong. The FO plan ISN'T doing this move to go after a player to replace Tunsil.

Somebody on Twitter was talking about when the Browns kept getting high picks but avoiding going QB because there wasn't one they loved until Mayfield which got me thinking, if the Dolphins shocked everyone and swerved QB in 2020 then what players would currently be in play to go early on?

Not saying that I think we will not draft a QB, just more of a hypothetical

Well this draft is knee deep at tackle and guard talent.. honestly 8 of the first 15 picks may very well be offensive linemen.. thats how deep that pool is..

Then theres two stud defensive ends in Chase Young and AJ Espenesa..

Jonathan Taylor may be the first running back picked in the draft, he will likely be a top 10 pick.

I wouldnt pick receiver until the later rounds...

Honestly wouldnt shock me if they go full rebuild at offensive line and use both picks on that.. unless they see a quarterback they really like.. none of the quarterbacks this year gets picked ahead of Kyler Murray. IMO theres a big gap between Kyler and the quarterbacks in this draft.. people talk up Tua because hes always on television but hes not that guy in my opinion..

Herbert has all the measurables but doesnt have the gamesmanship i want in a quarterback.. he laid a ****ing egg yesterday and made poor throws in the second half.

The quarterback that impressed me the most this past week is Washington’s Jacob Eason. Finally getting his turn to play at this level as a junior.. and hes got one hell of an arm...

Ok so if there's no QB that you love in this class, we know that somebody will offer something stupid for the #1 pick. If were to be in possession of said pick, what would you be demanding to trade down? I get it's hard to put a firm answer because there would be no idea of how far you'd be moving down.

This draft I heard that the #1 pick was being shopped for 3 #'1s, so that would probably be the starting price. Remember, if someone's going to move up that high, then they're in love with someone they just can't live without. They're prepared to overpay and I'm sure we'd let them do it.

Interesting video Galant. Except for the state of our offensive line this year, their discussion validates the Dolphin's plan on so many levels. They weren't even really talking about the Dolphins specifically, but it gives me hope that we are on the right track.

That isn't quite true though, as they have taken a lot of duds over the last 20 years - their QB drafting has been worse than ours. Just in the top 3 rounds, they have had:-

    * Tim Couch at no 1 in '99
    * Charlie Frye in round 3 in '05
    * Brady Quinn in round 1 in '07
    * Colt McCoy in round 3 in '10
    * Brandon Weedon in round 1 in '12
    * Johnny Manziel in round 1 in '14
    * Cody Keesler in round 3 in '16
    * DeShaun Kiser in round 2 in '17

So they have invested a lot in the position with nothing to show for it. It's only because the have continually picked high that the new FO have been able to get some D studs through the door as well.

No...we lost this trade big time.

Picks have absolutely no value in themselves. Those picks may as well be an entire round later as well.

The only way to win this trade is to hot on every single pick. It has to be the stupidest ****ing trade I've ever seen. **** Flores and Grier disgusting idiots who dont deserve to lead a team.

Addition by subtraction doesn’t make a lot of sense in a lot of situations; however, in this case it does if we can use our draft resources to get our QB of the future. Once we have him we can use what resources we have left and our mega cap room to build around him. I like that we are going for it. Better than the patchwork roster we have had over the years. Besides, if we don’t pull it off what have we lost? It’s not like we were doing anything anyway.

    I’m excited bud:ffic:

Reasons why, I’m a personnel type guy who believes in building through the draft because of the strict regulations of the salary cap, I believe to sustain success you must be able to identify talent at a higher rate than your piers, and understand net worth relative to the cap, must be able to replace homegrown talent with homegrown talent, being able to put a number in terms of worth on your players is also part of being a good evaluator, and when that player overthinks their worth then you must move on and replace with young cheaper talent..That’s the game man..

I’m excited because of this, not only do we have more draft capitol over the next two years in the league, we also have more cap capitol then any other team in the game..

I feel now, that our personnel Dept has strengthened, the addition of Reggie McKenzie, Marvin Allen, and someone I believe has hi level evaluation skills, our head coach, I now believe there is enough talent and experience in the room to take advantage of this type of rare situation..

As fast as the Tunsil trade going down, besides a franchise Qb there isn’t a good Gm out there that wouldn’t listen to offers for their players, part of the game is being better than the other guys and part of that is knowing when you have a sucker on the line and when to pounce. The Texans fell into the trap..

I believe this rebuild is partly happening because this front office wants to build a team in the mold of their head coach, also part of it is to secure that elite Qb prospect..

Even though we seem to be in a vulnerable position, a good personnel Dept will tell you they now have all the power..

Very well written. Sounds like not only do you believe what we’re doing is right(think a lot agree with) but think we have the FO/scouting in place to get these stockpile of picks(most don’t believe) right.

Well Grier has made and missed on picks that have frustrated me big time, and he’s made some that I didn’t see coming like x and Baker..

I have no way of proving who did what while Tannenbaum was here, I do feel confident that Tannenbaum has the type of personality that he wanted to make the final call. So I have to give him the clean slate with Flores and his front office additions.

Flores hired a very experienced front office and head coach who wanted to be a Gm in his early years, they have really set themselves up to corner the market and build something special..

Like the Great One said, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

Whether it all works out like a Lombardi wet dream or not, at least they are taking the shots.

I would agree with this if Tunsil was 32 years old or something.

You never trade young talent for draft picks, it's the quickest way to fail long term and piss your team off in the process.

My guess is that by mid season Flores has lost all control of the team and his solution will be to purge further.

I'm not against draft picks if you acquire them by trading the fat of the off the roster. All we did was piss on the steak.

We will be at a talent deficit after all the picks have been made and that sucks. They arent even particularly good picks unless the Texans take a nose dive.

They don't add up to the value of Tunsil alone.

A 32 year old LT does not net you 2 first round picks and a second round pick..

Hell Laremy Tunsil at 26 should not net you that many picks. He’s a poor run blocker. Houston traded the farm out of desperation, reacting to Lucks departure and their preseason games in which Kalil was getting murdered. no other team was offering that package of draft picks..

Laremy Tunsil is not Walter Jones and we need to stop pretending like he is..
