What are your thoughts on this? The Ravens were already up almost 5 touchdowns, Jackson was begging to go for it on 4th and 1 but the coach pulled him off the field. Then they proceed to fake it right up the middle.... Is that a smart play when you're pretty confident the other team can't stop it? I mean, why not get the practice in during a real game? It's not their fault Miami played it poorly. Or is that a total jerk move against an inferior opponent that clearly has no chance at winning? It's always been an unwritten rule not to run up the score against a struggling team....and that's exactly what they did. Discuss. =)
They were up 35-3 with less than 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter when that happened. I think in that situation it's fine because teams have come back from precisely that scoreline to win the game. In fact the largest comeback in NFL history is the Bills coming back from a 35-3 deficit against the Oilers in a playoff game (1992 season) to win it 41-38. Now.. had he done that with 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter then I think that's a jerk move. But not in the 1st half.
It was payback. Not from something "we" did to Harbaugh but based on his comment you can guess which(classless) team he's talking about: @jamisonhensley John Harbaugh wanted to address the Ravens going for the fake punt when leading the Dolphins, 35-3, in the second quarter: “We’ve been in those games before, on the other side. That’s not a complaint that you have. We’ve had a fake punt on us run with 35-plus on us."
I don't remember running a fake with a 35 point lead on the Ravens before, but the Kiko hit on Flacco a few years ago comes to mind. Not sad to see that douche gone. In general, it's meh. Stop it if you don't like it. Don't make assumptions like they won't fake it because they are up. I'd be curious to see if it bites them though, giving teams a key on Raven fakes. Then again, they could have been practicing something.
Well that's pretty simple- we've never had a 35 point lead on the Ravens since they always stomp us. LOL Maybe he was referring to the Pats or the Steelers? I wouldn't think it was reference to Alonzo since he's no longer here and neither is the coach. But who knows...maybe that's exactly what it was about.
Baltimore didnt make Miami noncompetitive. That was Chris Grier. The team that is purposedly constructed to be the worst team in the NFL can't use the sportsmanship argument...
I dont know what he was referring to but Kiko is gone, Gase is gone, it’s a whole new and not improved dolphins team. So he gave payback to a bunch of guys that don’t know what the **** he talking ablut
Didn't bother me a bit. The worm will turn, the day will come when we're the better team and, the shoe will be on the other foot. Embarrass the coach, the GM and, the owner in his house. This was their blueprint for success, let them choke on the bile that comes with losing like that at home.
