Taco sucks, he and charles harris were the two most overrated edge defenders in the 2017 draft. Now we have both busts on our team. Way to go Grier. At most he will be just another body with some decent size against the run.

Taco might need a little hot sauce to spice things up and get it going, but at this rate, why not a flyer on him and see if he is a better fit in our system. I think I remember some around here who wanted us to take him. Maybe he will work out.

So Taco is let go and labeled a bust for only having 4 sacks in two years. Harris only has 3 in that time and the jury is still out for some here on him being a bust..Ok

To be fair, I think this is the last year guys like Parker and Harris get unless they show up.

Straight out of the Patriots play book too. Snatch up the guy just let go by the team you are about to face! Pump that info. And hope for the revenge game.

I think it be wise to use him differently than have him with his hands on the grass.. perhaps he can get better pressure as an OLB in blitz packages.. but so far he hasn’t shown he has the strength or speed to take on a linemen 1 on 1.

Weren’t the Cowboys trying to trade Taco for Minkah? Now Miami got him and a first round pick - not too shabby on Grier’s part, imo.

They were trying to trade a 2nd round pick and a lightly used Taco.

Not really, he has absolutely been a bust so far. He's getting another chance because we have a new coaching staff and plenty of open space to let young guys have a shot. Dallas has already determined that Taco wasn't going to fit, they felt comfortable with their depth (lots of recent DL picks) and Taco has been asking to be released or traded. Harris hasn't.

If he turned it around and become an HoF player, no one would call him a bust. Just a slow starter.

That doesn't matter. People have been wrong all of the time. If he turned it around it doesn't matter if you saw the writing on the wall, and you would celebrate him just the same.

A more interesting question would be "What about Devante Parker?"

He is still a Miami Dolphin, however, Miami did not pick up his 5th-year option.

Harris, Taco, and Nkemdiche are probably striking laughter in our opponents.

One man's trash is another man's trash.

Dallas has a top flight defensive staff, and this dude more or less did nothing. This screams that it is a lack of talent - not coaching.

People will find any reason to be upset at this point. I don’t know how $2.5m over 2 years is a risk at all. Didn’t cost us a draft pick. We’ve got an insane amount of cap space. This is 0 risk.

Taco and harris have the same problem. Lack of good strength to speed ratio. That is the number one most important trait you should look for in an edge rusher and the dolphins just dont seem to have that figured out. I said on this very forum before the 2017 draft that we should avoid harris and taco like the plague as I thought they were both highly overrated. Yet we went on to pick harris in the first and now we somehow think taco is going to be good for us. Only good thing about this is that he came cheap.

I'm not convinced Parker is a bust.

Hes been injury prone, but I've seen flashes of what top receivers do from him.

I'm not saying he will be good, but I'd like to see if he can stay healthy and make some plays this year. He might end up a really good #2 guy with his size, speed and ability to make some nice catches.

Sometimes players need that dose of reality. Getting sent to another team might be what the guy needs to make the next step. I'm not personally a fan of the guy, but it could be interesting to see if we can be on the receiving end of the equation for once.

It's the third week into the season. At this point, we're some of you expecting them to sign the next Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White, Jason Taylor, Cam Wake, etc, etc, etc?

At double the league minimum no less. People are acting like we signed him to a multi-year $20+ million contract.

This was me before the 2017 draft. Now both these scrubs are on our embarrasment of a team. The dolphins always seem to do exactly what I dont want them to do. It's like this org is run by a bunch of clowns.

We need to stop drafting for prototypes and start drafting actual football players that can play and produce. Picking a charles harris over a T.J. Watt just because harris seemed like a better scheme fit is absolutely the wrong way to go about things when it was obvious to me at least that watt was a lot better football player and pass rusher.

A much better strategy would be to get the best football players on the team that you can, then adjust the scheme to fit their strengths. Problem we have had for years is these coaches want to impose their schemes no matter what and make the players fit their schemes instead of the other way around. A good coach will recognize his players strengths and adjust the scheme accordingly.
