I've been a long time fan since the late 70's and have never seen a home game as I live on the Left Coast. Going this week to see the Fins/Chargers. Bring the kid too (he's 20 now). Poor boy was brought up as a Dolphin fan. Taking the train from the airport to the game and will try and find a tailgate to crash. It's our my pilgrimage to Dolphins Mecca.

The tailgating may be the most fun you have at the stadium so get there early enough to enjoy it but bring some water.

LOL, but if we are going to win a game this season this may be it. We usually have the Chargers number. They seem to be a team that will overlook the Dolphins and play down to our level. Surprised they haven't moved the Dolphins game to Friday night. ;-)

Yeah, Tom Garfinkel has done a wonderful job with all the improvements. Hopefully, there is a better on the field product next year.

That’s awesome! I’ve always wanted to visit too. I try and catch every game when they play Chi, MN or KC. Hope you and your family has a great time.

Haven't been since the recent renovations, but I was struck with how intimate it felt. I imagine with the roof and reduced seating that aspect will be accentuated quite a bit.

I don't have a jersey from a current player on the team. I had an older Dion Jorden so I cut off his name and I'm going nameless but still having a jersey to wear to the game. Good thing I buy those cheap China knock offs.

The Chargers are not as good a team as they were hyped up to be before the season and the Fins have been improving gradually, at a glacial pace but, improving nonetheless. It would be sweet to enter the bye week with a win. Enjoy the game.

Honestly, I just want Rosen to look good. I'm fine losing games if Rosen does his part.

It would be huge to already have our QB with three first rounders at our disposal. Also watching the Steelers closely because they could be picking near the top too...or we will be rather with their pick.

Enjoy your first trip to the stadium. Mine was with my grandfather against the Ravens in the playoffs way back when we still had I think McKnight on the team at WR lol and he missed an easy TD I believe.

I was a kid I dont remember that well.

Congrats on your first game! I too will be attending my first Home game in November against the Jests (i live on the Left-ish coat as well).

If anyone has any tips on attending tailgate it would be much appreciated. I assume if i show up with some canned beer and walk around there would be no issues, correct?

No issues walking around with beer. But you are limited to what you can bring inside the stadium, basically not much so bring a disposable cooler. There are plenty of trash bins and port a potties outside the stadium gates but nothing else is offered.

Hope you all have a great day Finatik. Don't get too hung up about the result if it doesn't go our way. Just soak up the sun and the atmosphere and enjoy the moment. Looking forward to when I'll be able to do the same- whenever that may be.

I was on a week long audit trip and I just got back. Didn't have a chance to write anything.

Landed in Miami Saturday night after traveling all day and stayed a the Shepley Hotel in South Beach. We sat on the porch area and poured drink to relax a bit before heading out. We went to a couple of bars and the other guy that was with us (Hal) wanted to go get some food so he headed back to the hotel. We were ready to part SB style. We were walking along and I heard this one place playing some great music. Totally packed. I was focused on trying to find a table and wasn't really looking around. I spotted one and told my son lets go sit down. He said" have you noticed all the waiters are men and none of them have their shirts on and that really big rainbow flag". Apparently I led my son to a gay bar (not that theirs anything wrong with that - hell they were playing some jams). I didn't think he that comfortable there with his father so we went next door. Too bad because the drag queen show started right after we left (not sure if he's seen one of those up front and in person).

We were a little hung over the next day and didn't get that early of a start. Took an Uber straight to the front ($22 for 3 people - not bad). Stadium is awesome. Got all of the required pictures in front (they were still doing some work on it though). We had great seats about the 30 yard line in the 300 section. I got front row seats and they were perfect as we had very little foot traffic. I don't think any seat is bad except for those in the sun directly behind the visitors bench. The game was good the 1st half but it fell apart in the 2nd. At half time they had all the alumni from the past 50 years come out onto the field. It was super cool to be there for that (I have a couple extra programs if anyone's interested - PM me). I would post pictures but not sure how to do that from a local computer and not hosted pictures.

We were going to take the bus from lot 14 back to South Beach ($10@) but decided just to pay up and get an Uber to the Airport hotel we had moved to. WHAT A JOKE. We were led on the mile and 1/2 Batan death march to the off site school where you had to pick them up. From what we were told they were allowed to do pick ups by the stadium. I thought Hal was going to drop dead as we had to stop for water and shade breaks for him. It was a little warm that day. Finally got to the spot and got a car right away ($42) to the hotel. My son crashed for 6 hours when we got back. The 21 year old could even keep up with the old man. We had a 6:45am flight the next day to Tampa and he was headed back to Cali and just chilled the rest of the night.

Defiantly need at least 3 days and not about 30 hours. Wish we would have went to the game earlier as I planned but my hangover said otherwise. Were already talking about a return trip to take a Caribbean cruise to do some diving and then spend 3 days in SB and hit another game. All in all it was a great time. Even if the Phis didn't win.

South Beach is a little too ritzy these days but, years ago I used to live on my sailboat at the marina by the mouth of the inlet. The area was much seedier back then before all the high rise condos were built. The Art Deco District was a short walk away. I miss those days.
I'm glad you had a good visit with your son. Hopefully some day the Dolphins will be able to add to the pleasure of a visit.
