LOL, 1st off, Gase is on his 3rd string QB and didn't have his starter this year....not sure why that's been a recurring theme in his coaching career. 2nd, we're going to win either today or next week to get that 0-16 monkey off our backs!

man theres so many threads and posts from the past of people explaining gase superior complex offense and yet it has never results in points or anything resembling a top 10 offense or even in the top 25. They also never explained how in this complex offense you run a draw or a bubble screen at 3rd and long, every. single. time.

LOL, that's not true at all....3rd and long was usually the draw play. He even defended it to the press by explaining that on an expected passing down, the draw has the highest percentage of gaining 8+ yards. He felt like it was more setting up for a good punt than it was taking the risk of making a mistake in 4th and long.

Gase is all hype, nothing else IMO. At some point the evidence will be too overwhelming to ignore, and I think that will occur with his current tenure with the Jets. After he fails there I doubt owners will be deceived into thinking he's some kind of offensive genius.

I mean.. the ONLY time he had a great offense was with Peyton Manning! Gase has coached a lot of QB's now: Kitna, Tebow, Orton, Manning, Cutler, Tannehill, Moore, Osweiler, and now Darnold and Falk, and maybe someone I missed? And he really hasn't done anything you couldn't explain through random variation alone, sometimes better sometimes worse.

Just be happy it's the Jets that fell for the hype.

Thats funny.. earlier this week belichick was asked how often does he use analytics in football and he laughed and said less than zero.

You cant moneyball in this league, this isnt baseball. The aggressive teams win, period.

Belichick is so smart that he’s using effective analytics in his own mind without even realizing it.

Ummm.. ever heard of Ernie Adams?

Patriots use analytics heavily, just not in play calling apparently. But that revolution will happen too someday.

Why would you need additional analytics when you have Adams buying playbooks, stealing signals and telling you what the defense is doing? I'm pretty sure they're leading the nation in analytics...not even Facebook goes to that level.
