Sure he reads, the hunger games and Harry Potter. I hope he gets booed the **** out of every arena this year.

Damn you Morey, you selfish jerk. Don’t make Lebron get into a word and sentence war with you lmao

The NBA somehow managed to do more damage to themselves than the NFL had with the way they handle domestic violence. And im not talking about What Morey words did to the NBA, he is right to call it like it is. But the way Silver and Lebron has responded, has caused an uproar from their fans here in this country and canada. Theyre getting roasted like i never seen before. Im not sure lebron will be able to take a stance again.

Lebron's meddling cost my team our best player. I am not a fan.

However, Lebron's bungling of this situation does not affect the good work he does for underpriviliged kids in the USA. He deserves to take heat for choosing cash over freedom. No doubt. But just because he's wrong here, doesn't mean his heart isn't in the right place with social justice issues at home.

His heart can be in the right place all he wants, he still gets too much credit for his mind which is laughable if you actually listen to him.

If you want to paint yourself as "The intellectual" basketball player...maybe dont have ignorant opinions based on lining your pockets?

    1. I'm not going to judge someone's intelligence based on how they talk. He's a fantastically smart basketball player who has never gotten into any off-the-court problems, despite being in the spotlight since he was 15. And he's been able to amass a ton of money. I consider him an intellectual. For sure. I'll judge him on his actions, not how he talks.

    2. Maybe he made a mistake? It happens.

    1) He is a highly intelligent basketball player, at basketball I agree.

    2) I dont mean how he talks as in words or voice, I mean his opinions are so basic and show little understanding beyond the surface of what he speaks of. That is a very valid way to judge intelligence.

    3) Hes amassed a ton of money because of Basketball. If he had to have a regular career like non genetic freaks he wouldnt have a ton of money most likely...so I dont see how that is relevant.

    4) He probably shouldnt speak on world affairs if he is "wrong" or "mistaken" he should probably shut his mouth and not influence others who look up to him to be ignorant.

I guess we just disagree if Lebron is intelligent. I'll judge him on his actions. You can judge him based on soundbites in the media.

We both agree he made a mistake. We just differ on how harshly we judge him for that mistake.

Why would Lebron be upset about Morey showing support for Honk Kong on Twitter?

Because the Chinese govt went nuts after the tweet and are threatening to block the NBA, thus cutting off a major revenue stream for the league that directly affects the salary cap that directly affects player salaries.

The thing about the NBA and China that no-one seems to mention is that the NBA has no competition. 0. None. Zip. There are no other basketball leagues anyone cares about. Sure, the Chinese government can be stubborn and just cancel it all and the NBA would lose out, but it's not like they can turn anywhere else. All the NBA has to say is, "You may choose to censor broadcasts or other items within your own nation, but we operate in the USA where freedom of speech, even on controversial topics, is permitted, and even valued, so we will not be censoring anything ourselves. We want to expand into China, but our product is our product, and our values are our values."

Is it a risk? Maybe. But considering the abuses that government doles out, if the NBA, or anyone else, is going to be doing business with them at all, I think it's the least anyone should do.

I think peKing James is more concerned about space jam 2...they already had to China proof the script and cast.

The good news is the nba will probably kick the philanthropy up a few levels to save face.

This just goes to show you how strong is the NFL shield. No matter how bad things have been, all the bad press the NFL received from domestic violence to kneeling on the flag, players staying in the locker rooms during the anthem, etc.. the NFL shield remains strong, it is impenetrable. Papa Johns was like oh youre gonna kneel, we dont want to be associated with you. Since then papa johns has been recording losses.

Silver is gonna try to work out a deal with China without mentioning anything about the words used by Morey. The rockets will likely lose their TV deal with china, but the nba will look to fix their direct relationship. there is too much at risk already and the losses are substantial as is.

Lebron called for Morey to get fired, because that genius thinks that would fix the relationship with China. Silver had to put Lebron in his place and reminded him that when the players and coaches (including Lebron), criticized Donald Trump, no one stopped them from HQ or their own team, they welcomed the free speech. Basically called out Lebrons hypocrisy in his face.

it wouldnt shock me if Adam Silver seeks out counsel from David Stern to get this right again.

Nike, Reebok, Adidas, UA, Gatorade, the NBA, etc will all suffer financial losses this year but itll work itself out. And theyll just hike up the prices in this country to cut some of their losses and we will be dumb enough to pay it still.

    Wut?

The Chinese government cares about crushing political opposition. They can cancel the NBA and broadcast premier league soccer. The NBA needs China way more than the other way around.

The Heat have suspended Dion Waiters for one game and possibly longer due to conduct detrimental to the team. Pat Riley said his behavior this last week was unacceptable and it culminated in unprofessional behavior on the bench during the last game.

    Yay! NBA tonight!

Sad about Zion's injury, but I'm reminded that Blake Griffin's knee exploded early in his rookie year and he still became Blake Griffin. I'm not worried about Zion's longterm health, despite all the blowhards on teeveee saying he's too big, blah, blah, blah. I'm willing to be patient and watch him dominate in December.

I really like this Pelicans squad.

Lakers got a whole season to get their offense looking better... tonight it was just sloppy... so many point blank layups missed... and passes thrown directly to clipper hands...

With that said the clippers defense is intense... and itll get better with PG..

    As for the pels/raptors game

i get it, Gentry likes to get his teams to run up the score as much as possible.. i think if Zion is going to be successful, Gentry is going to have to slow the game down a notch and work on a half court offense.. that game was difficult to watch, there wasnt a minute of defense played. No close outs, no contested jumpers.. just prayers hoping that the other team will miss.. That style of play wont get you far... many teams are going to love playing against the pelicans, they know theyre going to get their offense up just running fastbreak all night

I'm nervous as hell about this Rockets' team. My 2 concerns...

    1. Westbrook trying to shooting too many threes. 3 attempts per game should be his max. He sucks at it. Westbrook will be surrounded by shooters...drive/layup or drive/kick out. That's your job. Don't make me go back to calling you Westbrick.

    2. Rebounding. Our power forwards are PJ Tucker (6'5") and Thabo Sefolosha (6'6"). That is scary. We were horrible last year at rebounding because of this exact same reason. Morey didn't address this issue in the offseason.

Fix those 2 things and we're good to go.

During the preseason, he averaged 6.5 three point attempts per game. Only made 27% of them. I am going to get pissed off really fast if he continues this in the regular season. There is no reason for him to have anywhere close to that many attempts...not with all the real snipers we have.

    Again, I'm nervous.

Well the good news is RJ looks the part for NyK. The jumper and FT shooting have to improve but he’s got grown man strength on his drives. And he was active on D tonight mostly vs Derozan.

As a whole...between 27-32 wins for the knicks is my guess but they’ll lose a lot of close ones like tonight where they were up 7 in the 4th (after rallying from down 15 in the 2nd) and just went cold because the closest things to a go to guy they have are Barrett and Randle (who had a good game but when he went out - rolled ankle- San Antonio went on an 18-0 run in the mid 4th)

Well... i think its safe to say we dont need Bradley Beal anymore. Its also safe to say no team in the league has our depth at guard with Winslow, Nunn, Herro, and Dragic.

I leave Dion Waiters out because i think he will be traded at some point this season to a team that needs a guard.

We got y'all beat at guard...

Harden, Westbrook, Eric Gordon, Austin Rivers, Gerald Green, Ben McLemore, and Chris Clemons (#3 all time in career college points).

I want Clemons to play because he is Mr. Buckets, but we have too many damn guards.

But, that was impressive by the Heat last night.

I'm biased towards Bobby Portis. The kid won me a good amount of cash on FanDuel when he was at Arkansas. I honestly thought he would work out for you guys. I would take him on the Rockets immediately. We need a real PF.

I forgot how tedious it is to watch James Harden play basketball. No beauty or grace. And there isn’t even power or athleticism. Just a guy traveling and fishing for fouls. Barf.

Harden and Gordon shot 6-32 (19%) overall and 4-20 (20%) on threes...We only lost by 6 points.

Wow, I'm actually encouraged with that loss. Westbrook was great. We out-rebounded a MUCH taller team. Those were my concerns. Harden and Gordon lost that game, and they won't be bad like that often. Not a great start, but not bad.
