You can tell Flores transformed this defense. Just everything has been textbook.. the details, the tackling..
Big drive. A TD would just be a crusher here, but even a FG would be a good add. Make it a three score game with Rudolph playing poorly and get that in their minds.
Seriously? I'm a fan through and ****ing through, and don't you dare tell me or anyone else otherwise because of how they're viewing wins for this team this year. Eye on the prize pal, and that's rebuilding the decades of mediocrity around here. Of course everyone here enjoys watching this team win, and we're all fans or we wouldnt be here to begin with. The way this organization has torn things down though, the plan is clear... find a QB with the first pick. Your chances are better if you've got the first pick of them all. The organization laid out this plan... not us. So don't you dare fault anyone for the way they're looking at wins and losses this year. Lets face it... as great as a win would feel, there's a great chance it could screw us over in the long run. Either way though, don't start telling others how to support this team through this self imposed mess. That being said, it's so nice to see this team playing well, and playing hard for their coach as bad as they are, and as bad as they've been set up by the FO when you look at the roster. That's impressive. They've bought in IMO, and removed alot of the "cancers" in that locker room, and the way they're playing IMO shows they're buying in to what Flores is trying to accomplish. Lets face it though, other than pride for them, and us as fans, a win is meaningless for this team with the mission they're on.
That was on Fitz, didn't need to tuck it like that. Two big mistakes on that series from him. Nice punt by The Hawk though. Let's see if we can flip the field position.
**** that was not good. That was the stop down and they let it go. Not a great playcall - either double JuJu or get pressure.
Holding them to a FG is a win for the defense. Rudolph had a couple nice throws on that drive. We need to keep moving the ball and get some more points.
Yeah great. If you can't cheer your *** off as Hurns fights through three tacklers for a TD, there's something wrong.
Well its up to how they come out in the second half. If they keep it up I like the chances of a win. They have to keep the pedal on the floor and Flores and his staff need to show they can make good adjustments.
Honestly I almost feel that's the game. We can't make those mistakes. Just don't have the talent to overcome. If they score again before the half that's it imo.
Wow another stupid big play given up .. i got a feeing they will overturn it.. which will be the first to be overturned..
Yeah, feels like the turning point for this game. Giving the Steelers the life they needed to get back into this.
Opinions are like *******s. Everyone has one, and they usually stink. Get used to it. Just because it's different than yours might be doesn't mean it's wrong, just means someone looks at things in a different slant of light than you. It doesn't matter if you agree or not, we're all here for the same reasons at the end of the day.
That defensive call leading to that TD almost seems like it was by design by Miami. I mean, we've ran that all out blitz on several third downs. We've shown them that pre-snap look with all the movement enough, and all out blitzed everytime. You should have known pitt would run a shallow route right in that vacated area eventually or next time we show it. I mean, talk about going to the well one too many times. Almost makes you feel like someone called down from the booth and said uh... hey guys, we're a bit too far ahead here. It's 3rd and 22... wtf are you doing other than trying to throw the game away. Just drop back in coverage, protect the sticks and move on. Just insanity
Pathetic. How do you give up that play???? Give up the FG if you want, but you can't let them have the TD. Worst defensive call I've ever seen.
I'm just furious about that call. Why would you make that call????? Why????? Unless you want to safeguard 'Tank for Tua'. Which I almost believe after that call.
That was pathetic. I cant fathom the stupidity.. I was here thinking what a great job Flores is doing and then that happened. its so pathetic
Booger is spot on (not just because he agrees with my earlier post) but that's just stupidity from Miami's coaches. Booger simply refers to an all out blitz and man coverage with only 4 (or was it 3?) guys on the back end. He's right. It's stupid on 3rd and 22. Drop back, make them throw it underneath, hold them. It's quite simple. But when you look back at the 3 or 4 times Miami's already ran that defense. Everyone standing, roaming presnap, then all out blitz to create confusion. It's worked already. Regardless of it being a dumb call on 3rd and 22, you should know by that point in the game when Pittsburgh sees that formation again presnap, it's an easy throw underneath with the 3-4 guys in coverage being deep. That's Miami beating themselves with a stupid playcall. On porpoise? Maybe... sure seems like it. I can't fathom NFL coaches being THAT stupid.
I'm going with yes, see my two previous posts. You can't be serious in thinking that defensive playcall would work in that spot. Not after 3 or 4 earlier calls got pressure. Not on a 3rd and 22. Thats so easy for Pittsburgh... when you see that look presnap on 3rd and 22, you're damn right im throwing underneath in that vacated area. It's almost like we were hoping they'd do it to be honest. I can't think of any other reason you call that defense on 3rd and 22. You can't seriously expect that to be a good call in that situation.
Like that 2-point conversion attempt against Washington? lol.. if we see enough examples of these types of calls at crucial points in the game where it looks like we might actually win, that is a GENIUS way to tank haha. Still don't think Flores is trying to lose (the FO acts like it is) but if there are enough examples of calls like that? Awesome.
Yeah, the feeling I have after watching that 3rd and 22 defensive call was the same feeling I had on the Washington 2 point play. It had no chance of success. No coach in their right minds should be doing that if they're actually trying to win a game IMO.
The going for two decision with Washington call and that defensive atrocity we just saw smell incredibly fishy. They both seem like throwing a game kinda calls. Which whatever, may as well get the number one pick if you are tanking but it better be that situation. Because the screen to Drake and this call were historically bad calls given the situations.
