It should be 14-3 at half, at best 17-3.. that volley we set them up for the Minkah INT was pathetic.. and then that? I just cant explain it..
So, really bad coaching job OR Flores is in on the tank. Either way, I'm not cool with it. Really not cool with a coach doing really stupid things or being a deliberate part of a tank job.
Regardless if it was on purpose or not I feel bad for the players who are playing their untalented asses off tonight. Their coaches are letting them down in both situations.
Again, if anyone wants to come in here and say folks "aren't fans" because they don't particularly care if we win a game, or this game you're ridiculous. That playcall right there to end the half IMO is a clear indication of the goals of this organization. It's #1 overall pick. Not wins. There's just now way to defend that call any other way. Again, the blueprint is clear from the FO. Rebuild. #1 pick at all costs. You don't deplete a roster the way we have if that's not the plan. So nobody here IMO deserves the right to question anyone's fandom. The team has put us in this spot and left us all no real choice. So whether you support moral victories for pride, or the plan to rebuild and give yourself the best opportunity to pick who you feel is the best player in this draft, it doesn't matter. We'll all be here together when that plan comes to fruition (hopefully) whether we go 1-15 this year or 0-16
Wait, did you really expect something different? I mean, this plan has been quite clear since they fired Gase. I don't like it, but I understand it. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised though.
I have a few based on the showing from Fitz & our offense so far. The defense has played fairly well right up till the tank playcall anyways
For all of our future hopes I really want to believe it was on purpose. It was an all time terrible call. People need to come out and ask Flores “You serious Bro?” Like cmon. If he thought it was the right call fire his stupid ***!
I don't expect the head coach to sign off on losing. Ever. I'd prefer they show Flores the door after he finishes the tank job and give the team a new coach they know isn't just TALKING about winning while making sure each game is a loss.
I hear ya on that, but the writing was on the wall from the start IMO. I doubt Flores will be shown the door though. You dont give a guy 5 years guaranteed to boot him 1 year in.
Better than a punt, but still....Fitztragic in the house. Flores must have had a talk with him at the half, to remind him they are there to lose.
Just so we as fans watching this are clear. It is clear that the players are playing hard. We also seem to agree the coaches are deliberately trying to throw games. How is this ever going to translate to the franchise moving forward?
You have to get rid of the coaching staff and most of the players. The idea is to clear out the stench of 0-16.
That's just our opinion as outsiders looking in. If we were blowing playcalls on every other play to lose the game by 40, that's obvious. I think you can talk to your guys in the locker room, or meeting rooms thogh and justify the odd playcall you blow here and there. I think the other part of it... most of these guys on this roster right now may not even be here next year. They aren't starters for the most part on any team in the league, so once we bring in guys from the draft and free agency, you're going to have quite the turnover again next year. I get what you're saying though. Hell, for all we know maybe Ross paid Flores well enough to come in, tank and disappear in a year.
Not enough horses on D. They can make a play or two but can't string enough together to get off the field.
Our defense is gutted right now.. we have no dbs and our pass rush has declined playing a 7:47 minute 97 yard drive..
Howard mysteriously not playing. The play calling suddenly taking a dump. This appears so obvious. Whatever call it strategy or whatever. The Dolphins I grew up loving weren’t punks scheming a way to find one player. This is lame. I’ll always love the Dolphins but this sucks.
We had third down we didnt capitilize on and a 2nd and 20 in which we gave up 21 yards.. we just dont play smart on down and long
Flores is set for life with five years of paychecks in exchange for a year of tanking. He can go back to being a defensive coordinator and maybe get another shot in 3-4 years. The problem is Miami will pick the QB that busts and have little to show for an epic tank of a season.
What do you want them to adjust? Do you want them to bring in some starting quality talent at halftime? This roster wasn't built to win, or to make halftime adjustments. They're built to solidify a rebuild effort. Their halftime adjustment apparently was to take X off the field. Unless he's hurt. Or is he "hurt"? We'll never know
