Definitely what our team needed. An aging corner who's best years are behind him.

I really dont see the point of this, if we gave up anything other than a 5th to swap spots, I'll be incredibly baffled at this. If we gave up a later pick to take his contract, good move.

You completely missed the point of the trade. Talib will likely never suit up for the Dolphins since he is on IR and a FA after the season. What Grier did was buy a fifth round pick for $4.23 million in cap space.

My point is we gave up something.

If the something is a 6th or higher, good trade. If it's a future 5th or heaven forbid, lower than that (it wont be), its lateral at best and bad at worst.

    It’s a 6th or 7th

Like I said from the start then, it's a positive trade. Just waiting for clarification on the final details before I praise or scold Grier behind his back lol

Miami buying picks, but it seems like money they HAD to spend anyway to meet the salary cap floor, so.... good move? I imagine we give back a 7th rounder in 2021 or something like that.

Honestly, I'd like to see them use these later picks to turn a second into a late first rounder and a third into a late second rounder. I'd love to see a draft that is pretty much all third round and higher picks.

Even if that was real, you could hardly blame the guy. I wonder if he has ever thought about playing Safety though?

interesting. I had it purely as a salary for pick trade. However there may be something in it as acquiring a veteran more for his role as a mentor/quasi coach than for his on field contributions.

It's an NBA type move. I like it. Eat some salary and get more draft capital.

When have we ever done anything like this before. Things actually look like they are changing on how we approach thing and I think this is a good thing.
