Comes from 20 years of mental and emotional abuse.

That’s a good point. It’s hard to trust anything this organization does. I think the proof will have to be in the pudding at this point. Having said that, I think some could benefit from a little patience to let this new regime gameplan play out a little more.

Exactly. Hard to trust at this point but that's exactly what we need to do.

20? If you think it’s just been 20 years, try asking those of us who’ve been alive long enough to actually remember Miami’s last Super Bowl appearance...or their last Super Bowl win.
My anguish goes much further back than 20 years...

Oh I've been around long enough for all that. And yeah it's been painful enough not getting another Lombardi in all that time. But until this last 20 year stretch this was a team that was always in the mix, always in the conversation. This 20 year stretch has been absolutely brutal watching the team turn into a bunch of bumbling fools and a freaking joke. That's where the Mental and Emotional abuse comes from. For those of us that were around for the former it is nearly unbearable to see.

At what point do people start to believe what their eyes are telling them?

Minutes before the Miami meltdown the Pittsburgh fans were booing... I laughed knowing full well there was no way in hell the Dolphins would win.

The players are not tanking, they are playing hard, but it is obvious the coaches are sabotaging games in key moments through high risk playcalling and by not making proper halftime or in game adjustments.

Its why we suck in the second half of games. The high risk playcalling is a way for the coaches to claim they are just being aggressive and trying to win, when in reality percentage wise they know they are more likely to lose calling plays like that.

You really think Flores is that kind of man?

At least this is a testable hypothesis. We'll see if our 2nd half is worse than the 1st half in future games where we're still not that far behind after the 1st half, and we'll also see how many questionable play calls there are at crucial moments.

However, as it stands right now I don't think Flores is "in on the tank" primarily because of one move: yanking Rosen and starting Fitz. The easiest way for Flores to be "in on the tank" with NO suspect play calling and NO bad halftime adjustments is to just start Rosen, who is damaged goods. For now I think it's only the FO that's tanking.

Isn’t Greenie a Jets fan? He’s just just picking up the anti-Fin ESPN bias mantle from Berman the Bills fan. Nothing new here.

While I've been agreeing with you more lately, and I certainly agree with your take and reasoning with Flores, I don't think next year will tell us much. The reason is, I firmly believe our issues are lack of talent. I think we are strong in the first because our staff compensates with the gameplay for the lack of talent. By the time the second half comes around the other team can make adjustments, and we can't because its impossible in the time given to devise a new plan with our lack of talent for their new adjusted gameplay which we haven't seen yet.

I think we have our answer. Flores isn't tanking. If he were then we wouldn't have won.

He would've stuck with Rosen if he were tanking.

Fitzpatrick outplayed Darnold today to the tune of a 118.8 to 85.4 difference in passer rating, which is entirely consistent with the game's outcome on the scoreboard.

Rosen would've been highly unlikely to replicate the nature of Fitzpatrick's performance today.

They NEVER accounted for Gase tanking the game! :chuckle:

I must admit Flores seemed to want this win though. We'll be fine, as I think there are 2-3 QBs with good potential in the 2020 draft. Just start Rosen the rest of the way and a top three draft pick is pretty much a lock.

    The real question:

Does the win against Jets PROVE that Flores was masterminding his own tank? Tanking the tank?

    lol Interesting question.

Today proved Flores isn't in on any tank IF it's true Ross and the FO wanted to tank. However, today doesn't prove Ross and the FO didn't intend to deprive the roster of such talent that the most likely result in their minds was the #1 pick (though I agree there's no reason anymore to say the "Dolphins" as an organization intend to tank.. doesn't fit with the data anymore). So IF (all hypothetical) Ross and the FO wanted to tank and Flores obviously knew about it, then the answer to your question is yes.. which isn't necessarily a bad move by a HC because there's no guarantee the owner will keep you employed after a tank, whatever he "promised".

Ross wanted more draft picks to put us in a good position if we wanted to move up if required. He definitely didn't want the tank. He knew that we needed a reboot though, so if the stripping out of the high priced veterans & addition of extra draft picks also got us a very high draft pick to pick up a new QB, he was in on that - didn't he say in one of the early press conferences that he was expecting 3/4 wins or something like that?
