Any time we beat the Jets, it's a great day. I absolutely loathe them and quite possibly a tier lower than I loathe Dallas and I never thought that would be possible. I'd rather crap in my hands and clap then ever root for the the Dallas Cowboys and I feel like it's worse with the Jets. I'd rather get the rotavirus then root for them.

No doubt. It's easy enough to realize the surest way to lose in the NFL is to field a non-viable QB. Rosen's finishing out the year would've been great.

I'm not: I’m delighted that we have won a game, even if it’s the only game we win all season.

I once wanted my soccer team, Manchester City, to lose to help ensure an outcome that eventually didn’t occur, and I have never hoped that a team I support would lose ever since.

Like I said, if the Jets were 6-2 in the playoff race this win would have meant more. Barely a tickle more.

In the long run, it means ZERO. It's only a potential setback. Nothing positive comes out of this.

People jumped down my throat last week when I suggested real fans would be cheering the effort of our players.

Same ones crying about a win this week.

Ecstatic we won, I will never root for a loss. 1st pick isn't even that important, how often are QB's taken first overall actually worth throwing a season for? You pretty much have to go back to 1998 with Peyton Manning for an elite QB taken first. Is there an elite QB in the league right now even taken in the top 10? I guess it depends on how you feel about Phillip Rivers or maybe Carson Wentz but even still neither went 1st.

I'd rather see Coach Flores' system work and have something to believe in when we get better talent in than root for losses.

Nine picks in the first two rounds? Don’t you think that we can find the talent needed to help turn the franchise around with all those picks, even if we miss out on the first or second?

Strangely, I wanted us to win every game this season.....yet for some reason once we had the game won today, I was sort of hoping we'd lose. That was the strangest NFL game I've ever watched since I had no idea what to hope for. Very glad Williams had a huge day though!

The icing on the cake was the final two plays- Fitz took the snap, faked the kneel-down, then stood back there just dancing in place. He got laid out the 2nd time he did it but man, I laughed for three minutes straight over those two plays.

Now that it's over, am I glad we won? I don't think I am to be perfectly honest. But at the same time, I had this little thought in my mind.....could that QB we're tanking for actually be named Fitzpatrick? He's a short term solution but I'd love it nonetheless.

Hahaha at least this was a entertaining day!

Fitz and a bunch of no-names lighting up that secondary - this is sad

Gase is an idiot savant. He’s a savant the first drive and an idiot for the rest.

Wow, who's trying to throw this game.. Gase NEEDS to be gone TONIGHT.

    We are bad beyond belief....

I started a sell the team thread but the mods deleted it

Now we know why Tannehill was always injured.Fire Gase!

Well, .... no words here really. This is Darnold's equivalent of the butt fumble so far

I'm definitely happy for the players, given the effort they've put forth, and for Flores and the staff, and I like the idea that the team's improvement suggests Flores and the staff may actually be good.

But that first overall pick is very important, and I sure hope we don't lose it because of that game.

There is no reason to care about going 0-16. It's absolutely better long term than 1-15 if it costs you the #1 pick.

We had a free pass to go 0-16 because people thought it was intentional. There was no shame in it like other 0-16 teams. No-one cared.

There's a very real energy with this locker-room. Listen to the way Flores commands their attention; a great sign for the future. He's everything Gase wasn't.

I'm gonna let you guys in on a little secret. We aren't going 1-15 either. You can see things coming together for Flores and O'Shea.

Watching Gase again is the quintessential example of a guy who doesn't understand his players. He has an almost childlike naivety and things that each of his players is a hall of famer. Nothing exemplifies this more than the use of Mike Gesicki. He wanted Gesicki to be a complete TE so badly that he never realized what he had with him. O'Shea on the other hand seems to not only be at peace with the fact that Gesicki is a glorified WR, and now he is beginning to thrive.

Look at Flo with McMillian. Unfortunately, he is not a complete LB like Gases insisted he was, but he is very, very good in run support. Using him less has been more positively impactful than using him more.

We are 8 games in and the coaches are very successfully learning their players and they are playing to their strengths. Obviously there a holes that will limit the success (I don't even recognize the corners out there), but you see learning and adjusting.

    Nice win!

No I'm not. But if you aren't celebrating a guy breaking 3 tackles to score a TD, because you're invested in losing, then you're definitely a worse fan than me. If you are sad that we beat the Jets, because you're invested in losing...

I disagree. I don't want the team to go 0-16...there is much shame in that. I understand all the worry about the #1 pick, but as has been said far too many times already, the QB taken first is often not the best QB. He's the QB with the most media attention.

Yeah, I'm not saying I'm the world's greatest fan. I'm saying that if you call yourself a fan, there are players on the damn field playing their damn asses off, and that deserves your support and your cheering. A fan would have no problem celebrating individual effort of players, or beating the disgusting Jets. Yes, no one wants to be a part of that part of the record book, going 0-16.

Honestly, people are as invested in losing so that we "win" the first pick. I mean, seriously. It's like we've sucked for so long, that people have latched on to cheering for us to get the first pick so that they'll have something to cheer for. So when people say that they should be cheering for the team to win, they get mad. I know they don't view themselves as bad fans, and I know they think they're a good fan because they're "looking to the future."

But what about the players playing right now? This **** isn't their fault...I mean, it's not their fault the roster was purged. If they're working hard and playing hard, don't they deserve our support and our cheers?

You can root for individual players and even the coach while still rooting for the team to lose to get that #1 pick for the long term health of the franchise. Those aren't contradictory positions. And I personally was very satisfied with Flores in the previous game because he showed he might actually be a good coach (this game not so much.. we won but I didn't think we played "great" or anything). All of us that spend time here are fans though. No need to attack that part of the equation.

Un-flipping believable!!! I just read through all of the posts in this thread and you guys are just flipping KILLING me!! We have a no talent team that played for 4 full quarters, got the team's FIRST win of the season in Week 9 of a 17 week season and you guys are losing your minds over possibly losing the first overall pick.

You know what, you guys SUCK!!!! This may be the only win of the season but I am damned PROUD of how the team played today...and so should all of you, to be able to actually win with a team of no talents.

Tua may go to the Jets, but I have a strong suspicion that Gase is going to the unemployment line. They've averaged only 12 points a game while giving up an average of 26.

How the Jets thought that he was a good hire is beyond me.

That's not the point. The point is that a no talented team won decisively today, which is a testament to coaching. Imagine what this team will be able to accomplish with a full compliment of players.

Oh, Res... get over yourself already. As I told you last week, STFU with that garbage about who's a fan and who isn't. Anyone who's on here here, or on their couch, or in that stadium watching this team in a tear down, rebuild effort where the clear goal from the team is to get as many and as high of draft picks as possible is a fan of this team. For any of us to have to sit through this season, with the roster they tore apart, then put together with as many warm bodies as they can find regardless of talent is a god damn fan!

It's not about wanting the team to lose man, give your head a shake. It's not about win's and losses for some. It's about how to go about rebuilding at this point. The team has put us fans in this position. If you want to sensibly rebuild as best as you can, and be a dominant team, you should want that #1 pick. It's by no means a guaranteed thing to have #1 overall, everyone knows that. Including everyone here... Jake Long says hi.

For some people here, the reality is a win right now is meaningless to the goal of the rebuild. Some people have just resigned themselves to that fact. It doesn't make them less of a fan than you, or me, or anyone else.

I HATE watching this team every weekend this season because I know they SUCK. They were built to suck. So I won't fault anyone who comes here hoping the lose, because the intent of that person isn't to wish, and root for losing... because the eyes are on the prize of the rebuild and the potential that brings for a strong future. So it's not about rooting for a loss, or not being a true fan. It's just about your current mindset at this point in time.

Some will see wins this year as great, because it's seeing your team win. Some will see it as detrimental to the plan. The plan set forth by the team we all claim to be a fan of.

Why does it have to be one way or another for you? Or anyone for that matter? Again, anyone here willing to watch, and talk about this team right now is a god damn fan! Just because we all are viewing the situation differently doesn't make anyone less of a fan than another.

Personally, I'd rather lose as many games as possible because I want them to have the opportunity to have the ball in theri court to make the best possible pick for the long term success of this franchise. At the same time, it pains me to watch them lose every game. Am I happy with todays win? Absolutely. **** Adam Gase & **** the Jets. Go back to Jersy and enjoy your coach, losers! Does it bother me that potentially the whole plan they've put together to rebuild could be sacrificed in a way by this win today? Yup. That doesn't make me, or anyone less of a fan than you or anyone else. It just means we have a different view on the future roadmap for this rebuild. It's really that simple. Why try and divide everyone?

The beauty of this season so far has been unexpected IMO. It's watching this team of nobodies, grow together, and actually respond to their new head coach, and actually progress and get better. We've had how many players, and coaches roll through here recently that we haven't seen that with... and here we have a group of nobodies that got BLOWN OUT early & now have come together, knowing they're not as good, knowing that they're underdogs, but they're competing. That's pretty damn special. Yes. No doubt.

However, that being said, what you're missing is the fact that this team went out of it's way to try and secure that #1 pick with the roster purge. So some fans of this team are all in on that prospective viewpoint. That doesnt make them less of a fan, they're just looking at the team from a different slant of light than you.

Again, the question though I have is why try and divide everyone here? We're all here for one reason... the Miami Dolphins. So why not just accept and understand that people aren't rooting against the current team, they're rooting for the potential of future change & an influx of top talent to help rebuild to hopefully be a perennial contender, it's not because they're not a fan and they want to lose. Ultimately... they're viewing it as short term pain for long term happiness. You're looking at it as short term happiness, and the thought of long term hope/happiness. You have to understand though that winning, potentially lessens the chances of that. Nobody here is unhappy about the success of the lesser known guys on the field having success though.

At the end of the day though, it doesn't make anyone more, or less of a fan. It's just a different viewpoint on how to get to the same spot. I'm not sure why there's the need to try and divide everyone, and say someone isn't a fan though for having a different view point. That doesnt make you a better fan than anyone else, it makes you a self righteous douche IMO.

For the record... I hate watching this team lose. I'm fine with it though, because it's part of their plan. I understand the plan. I understand the positives and potential negatives of said plan. I'm happy they won. I'm happy for those players. I'm happy for Flores. I'm happy I get to have a glass of this 18 year old scotch I have for Phin's victories. I am however a bit concerned about the fact this win may be detrimental to the team securing the best overall selection for the team moving forward.

I wasn't actually responding to your post... just your general opinion on the matter going back to Monday night's game, and your apparent desire to try and draw some clear lines between folks here regarding things this season.

I'm not butt hurt about anything to be honest. I'm just sick of coming here, and other places on the internet and seeing people spewing off their opinions on matters as fact, or constantly trying to drive a wedge between people on things. In particular around here I have issues with people telling others they aren't fans because they have different opinions on the way this season is going. Look, there's no winning in actual wins this season. Sure, it feels good, but you really can't fault anyone for not caring about it when the intent from the start hasn't been on winning. You can't fault other fans for buying into that and supporting it. You just can't. You can think your own way, but so can anyone else. I'm with you, I want to win, but I'm not about to fault anyone for not caring about winning in a season the team clearly doesn't care all that much. Of course, the guys on the field do, but that's a given.

Either way, it's ridiculous to doubt anyone here is a fan during this season IMO, and to be quite honest, I'd have expected alot better from you.

For the record man... It's not personal. I'm just annoyed by the position.

Seeing the way Flores and his staff have coached up this team of essentially nobodies, we really should all be excited to have as high as a pick as we could so we could get the QB we want, and keep all the rest of our picks to build things right. Imagine if he can do the job he's done with no talent, while adding a bunch of talent. That's why people are OK with losing... nobody wants it, but they just understand why it's ok, especially as you see this team of nobodies getting better and better each week.
