That's definitely a good way to look at it. Maybe blacklisted is a poor choice of words on my part. I certainly agree that any team that were to give him a chance would inherit a lot of drama and limelight in the process of doing so. I think it would be best for him (if given another opportunity) to just lay low and focus on his job. People might misconstrue that as me saying "shut up and play football", but that is certainly what he must absolutely do if he wants to ever step on the field again.

And if he doesn't and then get's cut, it's going to be another huge issue. It will just be another excuse in a long line of excuses for this guy.

    This.

It’s basically the reason he has no job, talent does not outweigh the distraction. Fellow black NFL players have said as much.

I hope he gets signed though.

I call into question your taste in movies with the Black Panther statement :)

I thought it was over hyped, but the worst marvel movie? Incredible Hulk, Thor 2, and Captain Marvel were all worse then Black Panther in my opinion.

I can see the Hulk movie being worse. Black Panther, IMO, was just not any good to me.

Nothing compared to Fantastic four ( the newer one ) or Ghost Rider when it comes to the worst Marvel movie of all time.

I would posit that perhaps there is a difference between something being objectively bad, versus something that just doesn't appeal to oneself in particular. I think that BP was kind of an exploration of culture and tradition that comes from a place that you and I are frankly probably not familiar with outside of like 7th grade world history basics. The vibe, the tone, the themes all dealt with things that we likely don't really experience. As such, they didn't strictly resonate or connect as much as they likely for others, and that's fine. I still appreciated the look at different cultures and experiences, and I enjoyed the fantasy technology, much of the humor, the casino and chase scene, etc. That and I think the acting was excellent as well.

Compare it to something like the Dark World Thor movie ... I enjoyed that one in bits and pieces too, but overall it was just flat and not great. Not every movie - or piece of art in general - has to touch everyone equally for us to still enjoy or appreciate aspects of it.

There used to be a POFO on these boards. There isn't anymore. Do you know why? Because people couldn't control themselves and keep it civil. It became a moderator's nightmare, and moderation is necessary because we want this forum to be a place that is welcoming to everyone and, has often been stated, a place where people treat one another with respect.

I didn't catch this thread until late, and in truth it's nowhere near as bad as some past threads. Nevertheless, a thread about the Dolphins attending a Kap workout and the idea of him becoming a Dolphins QB has started to become a thread about political/societal issues, people are already getting frustrated, and it is absolutely guaranteed that the thread, on that track, will descend into personal insults.

    That's not happening.

I'll give this thread one chance to stay on track, if it doesn't I'm closing it down. I'll explain what I mean by 'on track'. Adhere to this strictly or the thread is done.

This thread will be on track if it remains glued to football issues - because this is a football forum.
    On Track:
    Kap as a player
Kap as a football fit for the Dolphins
Kap as a fit because of the Miami/Cuba/Kap connection
Kap's political circus will be a distraction
You just don't like Kap etc.

    Off Track:
Getting into a discussion on the politics/racism in general
    Directing posts at other posters

In short: Keep it to the football, please. Keep it respectful.

Lastly, keep it civil and watch your language, all of you. Some of you have been edited already. Just because there's a language filter doesn't mean you should just type whatever you like, nor does it mean you should abbreviate in any way. It means exercise some common decency and moderate your own language, please.

    We're asking nicely. Your choice.

I'll keep this thread locked for a short while so everyone can have a chance to read this and calm down. When I re-open it later adhere to the above guidance or this thread will be done.

    Thank you.

Okay, so they had the workout scheduled, a good number of scouts and executives showed up, and they find out about 40 minutes before the workout starts that Kaep moved it 40 miles south to a High School so the media could attend. Now granted, the only reason the media wasn't there to begin with was because his side requested it...and then he cried that nothing about the workout was going to be fair in the Falcon's facility.

Recap- he gave scouts that traveled from all over the US to watch him a mere 40 minutes notice that he's changing venues 40 miles away. Only 4 or 5 total showed since you can't go 40 miles in 40 minutes in Atlanta...sometimes that only gets you 3 or 4 blocks.

So then there's the workout itself- Kaep threw well and one league exec. said his arm talent and velocity were still elite. Others commented that they were impressed as well (this is summarizing several different stories I just read on it). However, at the end of the workout, instead of talking with teams, Kaep gave a 90 second statement thanking folks for coming out, blasting the NFL for still being out to get him, and telling the scouts to go tell their owners to stop being scared. Then he thanked everyone again and walked out.

Anyway, it seems like there was genuine interest in Kaep's talent, but he couldn't follow NFL protocols, couldn't even work out where they got everyone together, then made accusations towards 32 NFL owners. If there was any chance of him being signed I'm pretty sure he sealed his own fate by being a pure idiot. He does want to play football....but he wants to run his mouth and talk trash about the league even more.....which is exactly why he's been retired for three years now.

My family is Cuban and they could care less about his stance or what he wears. Besides My family has been in Miami since the 70's and not one of the has ever gone and supported the Dolphins. So slap away Ross, trade Rosen, sign Kap if it makes sense.

Here's the thing- let's say the Dolphins call up your son (let's pretend you have a 21 year old son...or pretend you're 21 and it can be you). They say, "Hey, you have potential and we'd like to give you a workout with the team." You say yes.

If you called the Fins though and said, "Okay, here are my conditions on what I want for the workout..." What do you think they'd say? They'd cancel the entire thing in a heartbeat. But even if they didn't, if they agreed to the meeting and at the very last moment, you decide to inform them that they need to meet you 40 miles south instead...what do you think would happen then?

Kaep is a solid QB...I don't think anyone doubts that. But his attitude is that the league owes him something and that's simply not true. Players don't get to make demands...just like you don't get to make demands to your employer. And if the guy wanted to actually play football, he would have agreed to ANYTHING the league wanted for the workout just to get in the building and have the opportunity.

Unless some team is really desperate, I think he blew his last opportunity to be in the NFL. You just can't bad-mouth your employer, make demands and still expect them to hire you. Why would any team owner even consider that when there's plenty of guys with the right attitude lined up begging for any chance to prove themselves?

The man's pride cost him a job today...but I honestly don't think he has any intention of playing again.

I heard he had a great workout, and impressed some scouts... got a feeling he wont be signed by anyone though..

he wants to start, and maybe he is still good enough to be a starter.. i certainly think he should be on a roster as a backup at minimum... but nfl teams dont want the distraction, dont want the media circus that comes with it..

And they especially dont need that from a guy they signed to be a backup..

As much as I’m rooting for him to get back in the league, I think teams who were concerned about the distraction are goigg jug to be turned off about the spectacle that happened yesterday.

And this guy is good enough to be on a roster, but he certainly is NOT good enough to be a FT starter, that’s laughable.

The NFL put out the following statement Saturday afternoon after Colin Kaepernick's workout was moved from the Atlanta Falcons' training facility to a new location.

We are disappointed that Colin did not appear for his workout. He informed us of that decision at 2:30 p.m. today along with the public.

Today's session was designed to give Colin what he has consistently said he wants -- an opportunity to show his football readiness and desire to return to the NFL. Twenty-five (25) clubs were present for the workout, and all 32 clubs, their head coaches, general managers, and other personnel executives would have received video footage of the interview and workout, shot by the Atlanta Falcons video crew. It is important to note the following:

» As stated above, more than three-fourths of NFL clubs were present for today's workout.

» The NFL made considerable effort to work cooperatively with Colin's representatives. We invited his agent to suggest questions for the interview. Yesterday, when Colin's representatives said he wanted to bring his own receivers to the workout, we agreed to the request. In addition, Coach Hue Jackson discussed with Colin's agent what drills would be run at the workout so that Colin would know what would be expected of him.

» Last night, when Nike, with Colin's approval, requested to shoot an ad featuring Colin and mentioning all the NFL teams present at the workout, we agreed to the request.

» On Wednesday, we sent Colin's representatives a standard liability waiver based on the waiver used by National Invitational Camp at all NFL Combines and by NFL clubs when trying out free agent players. At noon today, Colin's representatives sent a completely rewritten and insufficient waiver.

» We heard for the first time last night, around the same time we heard from Nike, that Colin wanted to bring his own video crew. We heard for the first time this afternoon that Colin wanted to open the event to all media.

» We agreed to have Colin's representatives on the field while the workout was being conducted and to allow them to see how it was being recorded. We did so even though we have been clear from the beginning that this is private workout. As is typical with NFL Combines, one video crew was prepared to shoot and distribute video of the interview and workout. We confirmed with Colin's representatives that they would receive both the video that would be sent to all 32 clubs as well as the raw footage from the entire event, which is unprecedented.

The location Colin selected is more than an hour away from Flowery Branch.

We are grateful to the Falcons, who made available the club's first-class facility, along with athletic training, equipment, and communications staff to ensure that today's workout would occur under ideal conditions, to coaches Hue Jackson and Joe Philbin, who were prepared to run a workout that would allow Colin to demonstrate his skill level, and to Jeff Foster and the Combine staff for arranging for other players to participate and for managing the logistics of the workout.

Colin's decision has no effect on his status in the League. He remains an unrestricted free agent eligible to sign with any club.

Krapper's PR stunt fully exposed him and his "ME ME ME" attitude.
Not surprising, NIKE has a new shoe coming out this week.
Krapper was benched & replaced by Blaine Gabbert.

I used to work for CACI, international, training Afghan soldiers in weapons...and I was REALLY good!
-I had the highest percentage of soldiers qualifying.
-I had the least percentage of soldier killed on the battlefield.
-I was praised by the command of the 101st Airborne who was actually in charge of the program for my accomplishments.

But then the focus shifted to quantity and not quality. The US government needed to demonstrate a quantifiable number to garner support and thus I became disillusioned and quit. But now with how poorly things are going I've actually been contacted by CACI to return overseas again and they set up an interview with me in Orlando, FL.

Everything was all set, I was going to get to go back and do what I knew I was good at; knowing I was going to be able to make a difference but...at the last minute, I changed my mind and told executives that I would do the interview but they had to come out here to Rockledge...an hour away with only 40 minutes notice.

Sadly, I didn't get the job. Gee, I wonder why?

What Kap and Kap supporters don’t realize is that NFL teams will put up with some issues if a player is very good. The reality is he is an average QB, who isn’t starting quality, and creates a lot distractions based on his political antics. Now he has every right to express those views. Just like NFL teams have every right to not sign him and have to deal with it.

I dont think anyone has an issue with him expressing his views. I think the issue is that he has tried to use the NFL as a stage to express his views and that isnt what the NFL is for.
