    Lol, I thought this was about Flores going on the waiver wire, but that wouldn't make any sense. Good to see that he has an active role in scouting and doing his research.

    I actually read a book about managing a football roster, and I have some insight on this.

    What you are seeing with Flores is the game within the game. The book said that bad teams particularly at this point are shifting their focus to their 90 man roster next year. Using the waiver wire and poaching people from practice squads at this point can shift a contract (that is oftentimes relatively cheap) from a good team to your team. The book kinda spoke about how better teams are usually in a numbers game late in the season to get healthy bodies and more experienced vets may take precedent.

    Additionally, at this point in the year, there are probably a solid group of players that the coaching staff know are not part of the future of the organization.

    Keep your eye out for more roster hoarding.
