And with their first pick in the 2020 Draft the Miami Dolphins...

What is the ONE move that would most excite you to hear called as the Dolphins first action in the draft?

I think I would be most excited to hear:

"TRADE. Miami has traded with Cincinnati to move up to #1...and with the #1 pick in the 2020 draft Miami select Joe Burrow."

There's a proviso for this, it depends on how much they give up, but if they traded three #1 picks (this year or spread out) and maybe another pick elsewhere, I'd be okay with it.

Likely? Not sure. Every year there are surprises in the draft, especially in QB evaluations, and it's not hard to believe the Bengals might value multiple picks instead of just one QB, especially if they like someone else over Burrow. They currently have one pick in each round. Would they like to have 3 first round picks instead?

Clarification - there are other moves the Dolphins could make that I'd be satisfied with, but not more excited. And I wouldn't want to see them move up for anyone else.

I'll be honest that I dont think an individual player will excite me at our spot.

I love Burrow but not enough to trade up and grab him considering what it would take.

Young will be off the board and no-one else IMO is at a level beyond their peers that makes them exciting so early in the draft.

Parker proved we don't need to draft someone to be the #1 guy, earlier in the year I wanted a WR but I'm actually fine with what we have now.

Most likely the pick will be something not too exciting like one of the many similarly rated OT in this draft. Not to say we dont need help on the line, we do, but not at #5 because the talent difference between what will be there at #18 or later isnt large.

Honestly at this point I'd be happier with a trade back than taking someone at #5

The QBs I like will all be available later with Steelers or Texans pick. Ideally what I would like to see is a trade down to 8-10 range and take Creed Humphrey there. If you had to you could use the extra picks earned there to move up from the second to pick up Eason or Fromm or Hurts and still use 18 and Texans pick on BPA for Defense, CB, S, DE

What I would like to happen? As you say, to trade up for Burrow.
What I think is most likely? That we trade down with someone who wants Herbert because I don't think we want him, I think Burrow will be gone and Tua isn't worth the risk. I hope trade down and grab Eason around 10-15.

I only see a trade for Burrow if he demands a trade, due to the lackluster owner and front office. They are so bad, they easily got the #1 pick without gutting the team like Miami did. That says volumes about the dysfunction of Cincinnati.

As for cost? I'd say #5, #18 and #62 (the Saints pick which probably goes down a bit as they win playoff games) would be fair value for the Bengals given the leverage we'd have with Burrow holding out on them.

They can roll the dice on Tua and grab a couple other players with the extra picks. Not a bad situation really. It might even work out better for them in the long run.

Other than that, I'd would hope we can trade down a bit as teams jump up to grab Herbert. A trade down with the Chargers or maybe Jags would be fine, we'd still be in the top 10 draft picks and grab an extra third rounder. If Tua is still there, then you grab him.

If they are convinced Tua is the real deal (and Burrow is gone to Cincy) and will stay healthy, then grab him at #5 and hope for the best.

To me, Burrow is the most complete college QB I've seen in a long time and I'd love to see him in Miami. If that doesn't happen though (and it probably won't) then I'd rather see us trade down since there's nobody that feels like a must-grab at #5. I'd rather not overpay on Tua since it's the biggest unknown of any player...huge gamble taking him there.

Sounds good to me. I'm not going to overthink it. If we could pull it off I would be happy because at one point I was advocating selling the farm to get us a franchise QB. I have only mentioned that I would be okay with Fitzpatrick next year and a developmental QB like Love because I don't think Cinci will trade the 1st. Also, I am not sure about Tua. So right now I am not really considering him an option unless it is for our last 1st or a 2nd rounder and even then I am not sure. That was a bad, bad injury. He might never be the same and just because Drew Brees worked out, to me, it doesn't mean we need to be cavalier with our picks. Each situation is different.

Burrow would be the first choice but not multiple first round picks for him. I would like to see them gain another pick and drop back further now Tua just don't seem like a top 5 pick to me.

Derrick Brown DT if it's five.

Tua Tagovailoa, QB from the University of Alabama.

There really isn't another realistic prospect (I would consider Burrow and Young unrealistic to the extreme) that would really get me excited at this point. There are some defenders that would be good picks but unsexy, and as much as Jeudy and Lamb are crazy good, I'm not thrilled with a top 5 receiver. A tackle? Meh.

We will need to see Herbert and Love (and to lesser degrees Eason and Hurts) in the draft leadup before I get sold on either.

If there is no Tua, I wouldn't mind aggressively exploring a trade back.

they’re both good players but I think AJ doesn’t quite have the elite explosiveness and speed to take in the top 10. I’d be more comfortable with our 2nd pick.

Wirfs is an absolute animal. Multi-time state champion wrestler, weight room junkie and a mauler on the field.

One of Iowa’s top reporters is saying AJE and Wirfs are going to the NFL. Wirfs has nothing left to prove and what’s he gonna play for? Certainly not a national championship or even a Big 10 championship.

Hes gotta declare... the fact that most still have him graded as a first rounder even though he is made of glass, he cant take anymore risks. Get your first round money, hes not going to get picked ahead of Trevor in 2021 and if he gets injured again.... Get your first round money now

I don’t think you’re going to see us draft a QB unless one of them falls way back to our 3rd first round pick.

I just have a feeling Flores is going to build the trenches and build a team that’s ready for a quarterback to take the reigns in 2021, which will be fine by me.

I'm just going to pretend Tua returns to school, because that's a rabbit hole I don't feel like going down.

1A: Jerry Jeudy, Isaiah Simmons, or Derrick Brown. Jeudy might be the best thing to come out of this class, period. Simmons is a do-it-all freak, line him up anywhere and watch him fly to the ball like a magnet. Brown is a stalwart nose tackle who would immediately put our defensive line into SF territory with Wilkins and Godchaux next to him. All have a reasonable chance to be available.

1B: A.J. Epenesa, Grant Delpit, or Tristan Wirfs. Epenesa is an ideal 5-tech in our defense w/ the flexibility to line up as a pure edge rusher in hybrid or disguise packages. Delpit's stock has dipped a bit, but he is still a blue-chip safety in my eyes--reminds me of Eric Berry at times. Wirfs is simply a mauler of a right-tackle.

1C: Travis Etienne, Jonathan Taylor, or Curtis Weaver. Etienne and Taylor are the top two 'backs in this class and you can't go wrong with either; just two very different running styles. Weaver is a bit of tweener; short wingspan and a heavy lower body will make some evaluators shy away since he plays mostly on the edge, but he's been absurdly productive in college. He's not a prototypical edge rusher, but his build presents some unique opportunities as a flexible defender. You could theoretically line him up in any position in the front seven, and that's got to appeal to Flores.

    I feel the same way.

As far as Simmons, if Flores has any say, that pick makes a lot of sense if he’s there. He wanted Minkah to play a hybrid role and adjust it based on matchups so Simmons could do that with a different skill set.

I know you have to go BPA but don’t love taking a WR there based on believing you build from the inside out. Maybe a team would fall in love with him and offer Miami a deal it can’t refuse to move back. Three first rounders next year on top of this year sounds pretty cool, if you can get a 2nd or 3rd too.

It's incredibly early, but my money is on Tua with the fifth pick. I think he declares for the draft, I think we take him and he sits for a year behind Fitzpatrick. I for one would be excited about the pick if he is in fact the guy. Obviously the injury issues are a concern. We would really need to do our homework on the hip too. I agree that it is a huge gamble with all things considered.
In short it wouldn't surprise me at all if we drafted him with the fifth pick...It also wouldn't surprise me at all if we end up drafting a defensive tackle that I barely know anything about. I have no choice but to support this team and what they do. Looking forward to the draft for sure, but i'm going to enjoy the postseason first and maybe get into the NBA now that football is over.

As for the draft, I need to see what happens in free agency. I'd love to see them trade a third rounder for Trent Williams, grab the best free agent Center, and then draft a RT in the first round. That might be enough to create a decent OL for 2020.

I'd take Love if he makes it to 2nd pick.
Our first pick is either Tua if he declares or best available player at Oline or defense. But I don't want Young with first pick
