Tore his ACL again. From PFT:

Saints linebacker Kiko Alonso wasn’t able to finish yesterday’s loss to the Vikings, and he has a good idea of what’s ahead of him this offseason. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Alonso suffered a torn ACL during the wild card loss.

Alonso also missed the entire 2014 season with the same injury, and aggravated it in 2015, missing five games. So he at least knows the rehab process, which seems like as much of a positive spin as you can put on it.

The 29-year-old is entering the final year of his contract, and is due $6.375 million next year. He came to the Saints in September as part of Miami’s purge of veterans on big contracts, and played in 13 games for the Saints, starting four.

Darn, I hate to hear that. I know some of you didn't like him as a player but I always did...he gave 110% effort on every snap. At 29 & with this injury you'd almost hope he hangs up the cleats and moves onto a new phase of his life.

He did give it 110% percent. Wasn't always where he should have been but he tried like hell.

It definitely sucks for him because when you get an injury like that in January, then youre not coming back till the 2021 season, and thats if any team finds you of any value anymore.

I never thought he was as bad as some people thought. I think our coaching, defensive line talent aside from Wake, and play calling/scheme didnt utilize his athletic ability properly.

I remember watching games and being able to pick out who was rushing a good 65% of the time just based on their stance and where they lined up. If it was that easy as a fan, imagine how opposing offenses with game tape and film review must have felt. I blame that on coaching.

He did have a tendency to be out of position, but that could also be a coaching and preparation issue to some degree.
