How many times does Tim Tebow have to say he's staying through his senior year at Florida before people finally listen to him?
My Buckeyes bring all the boys to the yard, and damn right, their better than yours, they can teach you, but theyll have to charge.
People can talk about staying all they want, but until the declaration day passes without them having put their name in the draft .... most opt not to stay. I mean, for many, whats the point? I used to be all about the "stay in school" route, but theres no reason many times. Look at Leinart, he cost himself millions. Brian Brohm? God how much did he lose out on? What if he gets hurt? Take out an insurance policy? Is that worth top money? What if he just gets nitpicked by analysts and scouts, what if he plays badly for a game? What if what if what if. Its not like they will be hurting for money right after their career is over, its not like they cant go back and finish their classes. The only reason would be the social aspect, but hell, call me a cynic, id take the millions. You can have a good time out of college as well. Anyway, not saying they wont stay, but its logical to assume that anyone very well could declare. Especially since Tebow has a Heisman and Champ win, and Beanie could very well come away with both this year as well. Anyway, to the actual rankings, not bad overall. Oher is likely praying for Big Jake to light it up like Thomas. That would solidify his spot as a top 3 pick I think (assuming all these guys have good years). DEs and LBs could feature heavily in the top 10, maybe RB with Moreno and Wells if he comes. The only glaring hole is true DT, will have to see if anyone steps it up. Should be a good year leading up to the draft though, some guys with huge talent coming out this year.
texanphin .. my point exactly. Once they see that green, their mind changes. I actually have a cousin who goes to Florida and told him that he would probably only play his junior year at Florda then go to the NFL. So when the camera is on you, you sy one thing, and when it's not , you say another.
Also, the title says draft prospects which means if they are eligible to declaare they are a prospect
Good list, my comments are in bold in the quote. No Loadholt, Curry, Harper, McCoy, Robiskie, Byrd, Harvin, Gresham, Boone, Johnson, Mack, or Evans?
Loadholt and Harvin are definitely in my top 25. And I'm really hoping Michael Johnson plays up to his potential and that we then get a chance at him.
im convinced people are in love with loadholt just because of his size... everytime ive watched him play ive come away very unimpressed... his pass pro is seriously lacking
Against pure speed rushers he can be beat but he is as steady as they come against the bull rush. He needs to work on his lateral movement for sure though. I like him alot and I think he has a lot of room to grow too.
Whos is your #2 reciever? Robiskie or Harvin? And do you think aside from Crabtree the WRs could be shut out till late round again like last year? I do see 2 impressive OL classes between this coming one and last. If Thomas and Long light it up, and some of the others play good ball as well OL could be flying off the board early and often.
I think his speed alone makes him a 1st rounder. Though imo only 1 WR is worth taking round 1 Crabtree.
Harvin's worth a look at the bottom of the 1st. I'm guessing he goes to Dallas, if they don't trade up for Crabtree. WR is the biggest need on that team. (Owens isn't getting younger, and they have junk behind him.)
Juniors or Seniors? You can't really combine the two yet because it could be pointless if the kid doesn't declare. Best to keep them separated for now.
I am not that high on loadholt. i think he benefits off of playing on a line wtih Duke Robinson. Duke Robinson is the best guard prospect since Steve Hutchinson. Let's see how Loadholt fairs in tough competition this year. Maurice Evans is solid but he is not in the league of Selvie or Michael Johnson. Alex Mack would be #26
I feel that there are 6 "Special" players in this draft. 1) George Selvie 2) Rey Maualuga 3) Michael Crabtree 4) James Laurinaitis 5) Duke Robinson 6) Vontae Davis I do like Stafford, Beanie Wells, Jeremy Maclin, Michael Oher,a nd Malcolm Jenkins as well. George Selvie is my favorite player in the draft this decade. the guy is going to be the next Demarcus Ware and more.
isn't Michael Crabtree only a sophmore this year? thought college prospects couldn't declare until after their junior season or 21 years of age. whichever comes first.
Crabtree is going to be 21 next week! well guess I answered my own question.Michael Crabtree - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
