I used elway because of his legs but I hear you.....he's fun to watch. Rodgers or Favre would be two others I would compare him too.

Titans had an admirable run, but the Chiefs are just a force.

It’s all Tannehill’s fault because he can’t win high volume games.

Congrats to KC. They were the better team today.

So damned happy not to have the damned Pats, Steelers, Ravens, or Broncos in the SB for a change.

Hmm.. can you guys imagine the texting going on among corporate heads at State Farm right now?

They're one win away from a Mahomes vs. Rodgers SB lol. I really hope they have a special set of commercials ready in case that happens because the current ones aren't that good.

Tannehill is tough, Tannehill is a gamer, BUT, Tannehill can not carry a team if the parts around him fall apart.. It is what it is. Good run though.

I think this game proves that Ryan CAN win in the right circumstances, he also can be as average as average can be when he is without those luxuries.

    This is true.

But you should add as a disclaimer before the herd come for you?? Is that fact applies for more than half the Qb's in the league.

Mahomes had 8 rushes for 53 yards and a TD. That was a major factor in this win.

As for TN, #35 needs to find another way home. What a terrible game by a DB. He gave up two TDs and had a 40 yard DPI at the end.

I would've added that but it's not true. There are QB's that CAN carry a team on it's back. RT is not one of them. Not a knock on him though, it is what it is. If you want to say half the QB's cant either, well, that's fine I guess.

Good game. I though the Titans played very tough considering they are at an obvious disadvantage talent wise.

The Titans just need a few more pieces (receiving threat and pass rusher) and they’ll be back in the playoffs next year.

So essentially you’re saying that more than half of the leagues QBs can carry a team on their back?

That’s a pretty easy thing to disagree with.

Poor pass blocking, no receiver separation, drops, etc. VERY few could carry that. Wilson couldn't even against the Packers. NOT knocking Wilson, he's probably the best DIY QB there is.

If you watched this post-season for the Titans, you'll see they were covered every game, contested catches were the best they could do in many situations. They couldn't even get open against prevent defense...that's a sad state of affairs.

Yeah Corey Davis is a big let down. They need another receiving threat. And above all else......a PASSRUSH.

That is true for the vast majority of the QBs in the league. The problem is that in the playoffs you're likely to face at least one of the minority of QBs who can beat you themselves, and they likely will beat you themselves unless you have the kind of defense that can make them play an atypically poor game for them.

If the 49ers win today we'll see how one of the league's best pass defenses gives Jimmy Garoppolo -- who is no better than Tannehill -- a better shot of beating Mahomes than the Titans had today, by potentially making Mahomes play more poorly than he typically does.

If so, then obviously Garoppolo won't have to do as much as Tannehill did today to beat Mahomes. And that's why Tannehill needs not only a running game, but also a defense.

Ya they had a good run. There's plenty teams that wish they were in the AFCC game. I just wish they'd have played to their normal level of physicality instead of just giving it away. Just too much of a disadvantage against, what I believe, is the best QB that's ever played the game...at least at this stage of his career.

Aaron Rodgers is 0-4 in the playoffs against teams that finished the season with a top 10 pass defense.

I think if the chiefs face the packers the chiefs will win.

If the chiefs face the 49ers the 49ers will win. Mahomes will struggle against the 49ers

Cuz the refs are a part of the field equipment. Pushing, shoving or grabbing a ref will get you an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, but running in to one is not a foul.

Not half, not more than half, not nine out of ten, not 31 out of 32. No quarterback, ever, from the invention of the position down to the present day, could possibly carry a team if all the pieces around him fell apart. That is so obvious that it shouldn't have to be written.

Congrats to Tannehill and the Titans for a terrific year. It'll be an interesting offseason and next season for them. Hopefully for us too.

Get ready for a number of posts about the mythical QB who needs no weapons, no offensive line, no running backs and no defense and yet can still carry his team on to glorious victory after victory that end in championship banners, cocaine and hookers. By sheer will power alone he picks his team up when they are down and elevates all those around him by his personal selfless example

I hope everyone here just watched Billy Turner whiff, and the resulting strip sack that ensued. And that's Rodgers...all time great. Silver lining, Turner laid on the ground long enough to be free from the scrum so he could recover the fumble.

Tannehill is an average QB who is a game manager. Blake Bortles and Mark Sanchez(twice) made the AFC championship game too but I wouldn't call them franchise QBs either. Making the AFC title game doesn't make Tannehill a franchise QB. In their 2 playoffs wins Tannehill had 72 yards and 88 yards passing. Derrick Henry and the defense led the way. Tannehill is just there to manage the game and do little else. But to ultimately win a super bowl you're not gonna do it with a guy like Tannehill. Because when you ask him to do too much he can't lead your team to a victory. When Tannehill doesn't have a lead to just play game manager the offense looks anemic. After they were up 17-7 and then went down 21-17 the offense only scored 7 points the last 2.5 quarters of the game and a lot of that last TD was thanks to a fake punt. Tannehill isn't prolific or dynamic enough to outscore a team or bring his team back when down multiple scores. When it became 28-17 you knew the game was over. A franchise QB like Mahomes can win you a playoff game down 24-0 like what we saw against the Texans last week. The Chiefs defense was horrible that game and they weren't getting anything going through the run game either but they won because of Mahomes. So even when things are going bad in other areas of the team a QB like Mahomes can still lead your team to a win. But Tannehill proponents will just have to throw their hands up and blame everyone else on the team because Tannehill isn't that type of QB to take the game into his own hands. A game manager can't pull that off. Once it was 28-17 the game commentators even said this isn't who Tennessee is once Tannehill had to start throwing the ball more. If you limit Derrick Henry then you're gonna beat the Titans. That is what makes Tannehill a liability. This is why he isn't a franchise QB. If he isn't riding the coat tails of the defense and run game then he won't win. He needs everything else around him to go well in order to win. He is a game manager.

Tannehill was given everything this year Tannehill proponents have always wanted for him. They always said if he had a top defense and run game he would be a pro bowl QB and could lead a team to a super bowl. He had a top ranked defense and a RB with the most running yards in the NFL and still didn't put up big numbers or become anything more than a game manager. If the Titans can win playoff games with Mariota(2017) and Tannehill imagine if they had a franchise QB? Thats the difference between the Chiefs and Titans. Mahomes and Tannehill.

You are taking it too literally. The league may not have the majority but it does have many Qb's who can propel a team when other aspects aren't working, we see it every week.

How was Mahomes running game? How was Mahomes defense?

Mahomes team won the game because Pat Mahomes is one of those guy's.
