With our woeful record will we have to pay over the odds to get quality Free-Agents? If we do get over-paid players can we afford them in the long run?

No offense, but going 1-15 is not going to scare free agents away. Players like Florida, money is money, and we have Bill Parcells running things.

But ive read Roman that he wants to "win". Hard to do that when you looking down a barrel of 1-15. I hope you are right though.

Parcells and the fact that players like Florida will be enough to have free agents come here without having to overpay.

you'd be surprised how many people would like to play here. We've never had trouble getting guys to come here if we really want them to come. A lot of signings aren't always about winning. Most are money, but in a lot of cases, they go where they feel comfortable or get a chance to play.

We could probably get some really good young players in FA because we can promise them the chance to start or be the guy. 2 guys I've been using as prime examples; Ben Utecht (TE, INdy) and Matt Giordino( S, INdy). Both are good players, but they will never be the guy at their positions.

as we've seen though, we did not use Porter the right way at all. Early, we were using him mostly as a DE in a 4-3 due to teams going 3 wide, then we went through a stretch not blitzing with him. Porter is at his best when he is allowed to attack, and we did not let him do that this year.

the thing that bothers me most with pro athletes is the fact that they will play for anybody who pays them alot of money most of the time, so dont worry, we have 30 million to spend and alot of guys who want a check

Yeah, I disagree. Players want money, damn straight but many want that "ring" too. Also players going to a good team will have better endorsement deals which means more (and easier) money.

In this NFL going 1-15 doesn't mean you will be bad for 3-5 years. With the right people directing personel and the right coaching staff in place you can get good in a hury. Change the culture, and they will come.

Well weve got alot of "vacant" jobs going beit at QB,WR,TE, OL or on Defense. Im hyped for the offseason but also a little apprehensive if we dont get the "right" players. Theres alot of leaks in the roof.

At the end of the day, it's still South Beach. It's still one of the major cities.

Every young player would love to catch their pay day in Miami. The only players who would look the other way if offered equal money = players aged 30+ and looking for a Super Bowl title more than a pay day which they've already received.

well at least hes saying he wants to play for us which is a false hope IMO whilst we have this debacle at the moment. TO went from 49ERS to Eagles then to Dallas so he hardly missed a beat with his trades. For Johnson to come here right now would mean he downgrades IMO.

Its this simple guys. If the Bengels want the #1 overall pick. Yes, we will get Chad Johnson.

He wants out of there. Read that article again. Hes "sick of the same old thing" seems like him and Palmer are arguing more than celebrating...he just wants a change of scenery.

He is not stupid...he knows what Parcells has done at every franchise and I believe that resume is enough to convince him he'll be O.K. coming to Miami. Especially if FA brings us other big names before draft day.

It all comes down to the draft...I can't see him being dealt any other way. He still has a pretty big contract and the Bengels would rid themselves of that and have the #1 overall to grab ...say Dorsey? Chris Long? I think that is a dire need on their team - the D-Line.

I could see swapping #1's & Chad Johnson happening...but thats if we don't already have other better offers (more picks)

it would be more than just their first and ocho cinco. Probably have to throw in a 2nd or 3rd and then a late rounder

Record won't make any difference. If a FA believes he can be a difference maker then he won't be afraid to sign here.

From the sound of that article of Housh and 95 yelling at Palmer, I would guess that 85 can be had for a 3rd or 4th rounder this offseason. WHat did a malcontented moss go to the pats for a 4th?
We have to remember that almost all our pics are 1st up in each round so they are extremely valuable this yr.
He sure put a show today and was on his best behavior after the tds. Maybe he was auditioning for tuna and the fish today.

No chance. Bungles have too many holes to fill on D and they know they have a weapon and trade value in Johnson. 3rd or 4th you say. I wish. We wont get a Moss type steal with Johnson.
I hear all this stuff about Parcells and his "type" of player. Hes had a few players who dont subscribe to his way of thinking in his time. Most of them did well under the Tuna.
