    Still skeptical.

BTW, who reported it from ESPN?

Just wondering dude, how long are you going to be having your temper tantrum? I mean, are you ever going to get on board and support Tua or are you going to complain about him all year? The pick is done. Tua is on the team. Isn't it time to move on? We have 3 picks tonight. Who are you hoping for?

to be fair, our franchise is inept and we had another losing season. To many fans, the draft gives you hope even tho Miami consistently lets us down. If you’re frustrated by the draft and the years of futility, I think posters reserve the right to vent.

To be fair? Yes, we had a losing season if you look at our record. However, if you actually SEE with your eyes then there are a lot of things to be excited about. So I would say that our franchise WAS inept, but in some ways have shown that they are beginning to figure things out. Isn't it time to move on to day 2, or do you still want to complain about Tua?

What? are you calling me a liar? Hehe.

I know he's a goon, but it was Skip Bayless and he was quoting another more respected reporter from ESPN.

LOL! I was watching a segment on us drafting Tua, on youtube, with Skip Bayless, and I was like, oops this was a mistake.

    'Sup guys?

Welp, we got some help at some needed positions last night (QB & T), and although I was not keen on drafting a CB with our last 1st round pick, I trust Flores & Company have a plan.

Tonight, I'm really hoping we get one of the premier RB's (Swift, Dobbins or Taylor). I'd also like to see us draft an interior O lineman (Cushenberry or Hennessy) and edge (YGM or Epenesa).

    Let's go baby!

ESPN says we never made an offer to Detroit for the #3 pick because they thought Tua would be available to them at #5.
    https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2020/...labama-qb-tua-tagovailoa-fifth-pick-nfl-draft
Happy they did that. Got Tua without trading any picks.

Not sure how good the draft as a whole will be, but I'm one happy camper with how we handled the Tua pick. What was most surprising is actually how unsurprising the top part of the draft was as there were quite a few mocks that got the first 6 picks exactly right.

There ya go! Thank you! Have you read up on Noah? I wasn't sure about him at first. I didn't even know who he was, but after reading up on him here, and on the web, I was pleasantly surprised. He's raw but has a high ceiling.

Re; not making an offer to Detroit, doesn't mean we didn't talk to them.

At the end of the day, I don't think Miami was ever really that serious about moving up. They just wanted to know what it would cost.

    Smart.

    'Sup Surfs Up?!

No, haven't had a chance to read up on him yet. I did hear he's got two freakishly athletic parents though. And, his college coach said something like all he tried to do was stay out of his way and make sure he made the bus on game day. That Noah did the rest.

My issue last night was us taking another corner when I felt we had other more pressing needs. But, you have to believe these guys (that get paid a whole helluva lot more than I ever will) know more about player evaluation and what they're doing. So, I'm definitely going to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I wasn't referring to us talking to other teams. That's obvious. Everyone "talks". I was pointing out we didn't think anyone else (i.e., Chargers) would leapfrog us to take Tua. Whatever the reasoning behind that thinking, it was smart. I mean.. if a guy is really sought after teams will trade what they think is necessary, but we sat and correctly predicted Tua would be there.

Why does nobody make these kind of comments about Burrow or Lawrence? Tua is not the only player that had a good team. There is a reason these elite teams suddenly are producing elite QBs, because they had to.

Tua (and Hurts) were not typical Alabama QBs but Saban saw the writing on the wall. Tua is not a "system" guy or a product of talent around him. Elite player who maximizes his talent.

Just stop man. He's our QB.

you’re preaching to the choir. I’m a big fan of Flores and optimistic about our future. Having said that, I didn’t like our first round.

I think it’s also easy to understand how people who are frustrated by years of losing and are frustrated with the selections might still be venting less than 24 hours later

Burrow's numbers under pressure and off script are not as bad as Tua's.

    https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/tua-tagovailoa-josh-rosen-comparison-nfl-draft-2020

Here they are comparing Tua to Josh Rosen in terms of bust potential.

Look, I really hope Tua does great and he is the franchise QB we have been looking for for so long, but I am not going to blindly cheerlead the pick and forget about the reservations I had about him just because we picked him. That is just not how I go about things, especially after so many disappointments with the dolphins where my fears turned out to be right.

Talking 2nd round RBs. Who would you want between these two? Swift or Taylor?

Well, we didn't make an offer because we had zero intention of trading up. We just wanted to "price shop" the top 4 to see if anyone else were showing similar interests.

Definitely Taylor over Swift. Also wouldn't mind us holding off and getting a guy like Antonio Gibson and/or Dillon later on.

I've been vocal about my concern over Tua's durability as well as my belief that there is no question he can play. Frankly I like the pick and I'm excited he is a Miami Dolphin. If Ross insisted on the Pick, which I find highly doubtful, it's fine by me because I think he was right.

Frankly I like all our picks in rd 1. A Young left tackle that hasn't played his best football yet and has great measurables. And a Young corner that is learning his position quickly. In todays NFL you're in nickle more than base. We now have three corners that can cover like crazy, how can you not like this?

As far as tonight I'd love to walk away with Taylor and whichever Safety projects more as a strong safety. I think that is McKinney but I don't know for sure. A great finish would be the best edge guy left on the board.

    Peace People.

The problem with that analysis is that he's measuring "percentage of dropoff in ball placement," but that isn't defined in the article.
