Jim Kiick was a baller, and a great teammate, and talented enough to be a starter and HOFer in his own right.
Shula putting together his team again.

Have I mentioned I flippin hate this year?

Czonk just posted this on his FB page:

My teammate and longtime friend, Jim Kiick, passed away June 20. Audrey and I send our condolences to Jim’s children - Brandon, Austin and Allie. Since our football days, I’ve seen Jim once or twice a year and talked by phone occasionally. We talked a lot about the past and enjoyed ribbing each other over different plays and situations. He liked to joke and complain about him (at 215 lbs) having to block for me (at 240 lbs). But he always got it done. He also showed tremendous integrity and respect for Mercury Morris when he was added to our backfield. Jim saw the value in this and recognized how Merc’s speed would make us an even greater threat to our opponents. He only complained about being substituted when the ball was inside the 20’s because he’d have to run too far back to the bench! We had some great times. Shula might say too many. Perhaps. But I’m grateful for all those memories and especially grateful to have finally fished with Jim and Merc in Alaska a few years ago. Jim, wherever you're at now, I hope Coach Shula’s with you….but good luck if he is! RIP brother.
